This is info may have changed with the 5 star pin. Got this from a friend.

Length of spell~
1-star pin = 12 seconds duration
2-star pin = 24 seconds
3-star pin = 36 seconds
4-star pin = 48 seconds
5-star pin = 60 seconds

Recharging~
1-star pin = 60 seconds between uses
2-star pin = 46 seconds
3-star pin = 32 seconds
4-star pin = 18 seconds
5-star pin = 10 seconds

I timed shiregirl's four-star Ghost pin, and it clocked in at 1 minute. Did they change it between about 9 PM CST and closing?

Now for a 1 star pin it is a 105 second wait

Most people created mule accounts with the sole purpose of playing Pirates until they get another pin. Then they just trade it over to their main account and repeat the process until they are happy.

Or, you could go about it the hard way and see if you can get someone to trade their Ghost Pin away.
