My Prince Caspian game is on its way and I'm pre-registered as BestLester. #1 concern: the DS only supports wifi: 1) with no encryption and 2) with weak WEP encryption.
I will test, but I'm really bummed that Nintendo didn't put in Wifi WPA encryption, because I don't want to downgrade my home wireless network. -Kit (BestLester in VMK) |

I went and pre-registered. Worse that happens is I hate it and never play it again right?
It let me use 2 of my titles but it kept kicking back my third. I finally added an _ to the end of the name and it took it. Now awaiting approval and we'll go from there. Don't have a DS, considered it, but never get around to it. Wonder what the differences are going to be between playing the PC version and the DS. Wondering if they'll do things like TT where you can only get to certain places in free mode and the rest in paid. DS would be the same as paid in a way.

I think everyone is getting overly excited about... a game lobby. This looks like nothing that hasn't been around in various forms for years. The intent will be for you to play the games that are "dgamer compatable" which will save your game state on the dgamer site. Then you can show off your high scores, for example. Probably in the future, you'll be able to use the dgamer site to coordinate tournaments.
This isn't a replacement for VMK. It doesn't even have any of the features that VMK does besides your avatar and chatting. It is like saying that VMKF is just like VMK because we have avatars and chatting!

Bah! Can't get the silly DS to connect to the Hotspot I am sitting at. From what I see on the web there is nothing to do and everyone is just saying "Huh?" in the chat rooms. There are 4 town "areas" with the characters from the homepage you can visit but those seem to be not working. I am hopeful that they will develop with time. I am not happy that I can only have green hair and not green skin. I will keep trying to connect through the DS and see if anything else happens.
In the meantime I will wait for all the "told you so..."
