Believe it or not, Disney is at it again with the ride-turned-movie franchise. Just when you thought those lame jokes would stay with the ride, it's apparently hitting the big screen. Here's a glimpse of the story:

Box Office Mojo got a chance to talk to Walt Disney Pictures Chairman **** Cook and asked him about the Jungle Cruise movie, which will be based on the Disneyland ride much like the "Pirates of the Caribbean" franchise is. Here's a clip from the article:

There will be a family involved. The skipper will play a very important role. He'll be more of an Indiana Jones kind of guy, with a little Jack Sparrow in him, who's going to be able to take this family on an adventure that they never dreamed they were going to be on when they first got on board. In true Disney fashion, it will definitely have the adventure and the intensity—but also the heart and the fun. We hope we have a good outline of where we want to go and what we want to do with it in the next year.

Hopefully it's better than the Haunted Mansion.

I agree about 800% with Stunt. Haunted Mansion was the biggest disappointment. I think they should approach it with more of a light hearted feel, since the JC ride is silly anyway

LOL!! really!? I wonder if the same jokes will be in the movie as the ride " Oh looks its the " Niagra falls" everyone say ohhhhhhh and ahhhhhhh" and my favorite " This is chief so and so today he's having a special ,2 of his heads for yours!". A classic ride in my opinion but who knows the outcome of the movie ^_^

Honestly, I think a JC movie sounds little too much. POTC was good but who says you can get another good movie like that? And I think I've heard of that story or plotline (whatever you want to call it) before. It was another movie, I think that it was Disney, made like in 1999 maybe... I don't really remember but I do know I've seen a clip for it. I think Disney should make different movies, real movies. Not movies-from-rides or 2s or 3s. They should get more help, if they need it, to think of great stories for great movies. They've done it before!

I liked the Haunted Mansion movie. Carousel of Progress movie that would be cute.

The joke about the water, it is the back side of water not Niagra Falls.

This has been planned for some time now. Last I heard the story would be like "The Heart of Darkness" or more familiar, the movie "Apocalypse Now".
