How to make a Grunge Brush in Paint Shop Pro

Here is how to make your own grudge brush for Paint Shop Pro.

Step 1: Find a grungy image. I used the following: http://photoshop-freebies.com/wp-con...gray_thumb.jpg

Setp 2: Copy and Paste it into Paint Shop Pro

Step 3: Go to your Selection tool on the left and click on the "Magic Wand" tool.

Step 4: Have your Magic Wand "Tolerance" set at 8 and feather 0.

Step 5: Click on any part of the image. If you don't like the selection. Press Ctrl and Z at the same time(this undoes the selection). You can fool around with the image until you have a selection you like.

Step 6: Once you have the selection you. Click on your paintbrush tool.

Step 7: Open up your different default brushes menu(if you are using PSP Photo X2 click on the down arrow). You can use the default brush if you want. But find a brush on the menu that you like(for users using PSP Photo X2 I use either Marble or Fuzz soft). I chose Fuzz Soft.

Step 8: Click on the bottom right icon. It should say "Create brush tip from selection". Name it anything you want. I chose"Grunge" Then click "Ok"

Step 9: Go back to your brushes menu and locate your new brush. Test it out and see if you like it. Here is what my final brush looked like:

If you have any questions please contact me. I can do a video if that'll be easier for some people.
