I think that isn't a pepermint rug, but Little pepermint blocks. If you look, the top of the pepermint is about level with the gingerbread couch, because the pepermints cover the legs of the couch. Looks to me like they're ice cubes painted to look like pepermints

The person is also wearing a new costume, most likely a Caroling or Sledding Costume. 2. There are some type of Marshmellow/Street Light things between the Giant Lolipops and at the far right of the screen. 3.
