Reputation Questions
If somebody has a question about reputation, please post it here to prevent cluttering the forums. This is for ALL questions. I, and others, will answer them and I will post the questions and answers on the first post.
QE: Sorry if there is already a reputation organizer thread, I searched and didn't see anything. 1) Q.What is your reputation for? Does it do anything? A. Your reputation points do not really count as anything; the mods rarely look at it. The point of the reputation feature is for you to get private feedback on your posts and make you think about what you've said in a post from another point of view. This feature is working to that extent; one member asked me if a particular post was bad because she got a negative rep on it. It turned out to be fine - the negative feedback was actually silly - but it was good that she sought out someone else's opinion. -GG 2) Q.Where do I give people reputation? A. Above the Join Date, Location and so forth is a white scale. You click on that and a pop-up comes up. If it doesn't come up, disable your pop-up blocker. Then, click approve or disapprove, and leave an OPTIONAL message.-MP and Becky 3) Q.How can I see reputation and reputation messages? A. Click on User CP and the box with all your reputation information is located on the front page of the User Control Panel.-MP 4) Q.Can you see who gave you the reputation? A. No, unless they sign their name in the message.-MP 5) Q.Is there a way I can report a reputation point that had an innappropriate message? A. Take a screenshot and send it to either -rcv- (aka Kid Bugs) or Nick. They will be able to investigate who sent it to you.-goldie 6) Q.Can you see others reputation? A. I don't think that you can see others reps, unless they have your password or you give them a screenshot of it. -MP 7)Q.What does a grey reputation mean? A. Everyone can leave reputation comments, but not everyone's comments contribute to your score (+ or -). If there is a gray box next to a reputation comment, it means that the person who left you that comment does not have the ability to affect your score. There are two main reasons why this could happen: the person does not have enough posts yet, or the person's own reputation is too low. -MrG 8)Q.Can I turn of my reputation? How? A.
