This was originally posted and done by Oranges, so I give credit to her for starting this. Also, Wendot gets credtis as well for allowing me to go ahead and renew the magic of this Guide for all of you. I only hope that I will be able to meet up to everyone's expectation (if there are any) and continue this wonderful helpful guide. Just to let you know tho, I have included more information by yours truely and will be updating it weekly/daily. And thank you to Brain for bringing this thread out of the grave and Batleth for putting it up here as a sticky.
Celebrating 38 years of dreams and magic at Disney Parks the Walt Disney World Resort. After 2 years of The Year of a Million Dreams promotion, Walt Disney World is getting ready to celebrate none other than you!!! Come on over to WDW to Celebrate you in ways you never thought before wether it be for an anniversary, birthday, a reunion, a wedding, or just to celebrate each day! It’s back and better than ever! The Complete “I’m Going To WDW” Guide has returned again with a fresh new dreamy overlay, and now it’s even easier than ever before to find the information YOU need to know! Let’s get started! There are some pretty awesome additions to this new version of The Complete "I'm Going to WDW" Guide - including all new information, travel reviews, more attraction bios, inside secrets, tour information, and so much more that we can hardly fit it all into one guide! Every day, more and more members are saying they’re going to Disney World, right? Well, look no further because all the answers to your questions can be found here! It’s important to plan ahead of time, and with this guide, you’ll have the best vacation at the place where dreams come true every day and everyday is a celebration for everyone. Speaking of celebrations, this year Walt Disney World has a theme of "Celebrate Today!" in which we come up with a reason to celebrate each and every day possible! Newest entertainment and attractions await you everyday such as Move It! Shake It! Celebrate It! Parade at Magic Kingdom, where you can dance and sing along with your favorite Disney characters, Kim Possible World Showcase Adventure at EPCOT, where you become a part of Team Possible and take classic Kim Possible villains like Dr. Drakken or Professor Dementor, or become a singing sensation star in the new American Idol: The Experience at at Disney's Hollywood Studios! It's all waiting for you and more today at the Walt Disney World Resort in Florida as we celebrate you in ways you've never imagined! And if you are visiting us on your birthday, you can come into the parks for free! Or if you are an annual passholder, you can either get free Disney Fastpasses for one park up to you and five other guests, another ticket to use after your passes expire, or a gift card worth the amount of a Disney ticket! To help you get more of an idea of what rides are for you, there are now “Stitch Icons” icons next to each potentially intense/thrilling attraction. One Mickey Icon means the ride is less intense, while five icons means the ride is VERY intense and should be carefully considered before riding. In addition, if you see a "Dressed Up Stitch Icon" icon next to a restaurant, attraction, or any other form of entertainment, it denotes an "Stitch's Personal Pick". Without any further ado, I present to you the latest renovation of "The Complete 'I'm Going To WDW' Guide-Version 2.0"! My goal is to create a guide that will squeeze every last drop of magic out of your vacation, so enjoy! The Complete "I'm Going to WDW" Guide Introduction Theme Parks Water Parks Resorts

"Are the powers of Mickey's incredible imagination strong enough and bright enough to withstand the evil forces that invade Mickey's dreams? You are about to find out. For we now invite to join Mickey and experience Fantasmic! A journey beyond your wildest imagination..." Event Notes There are typically two showings of Fantasmic! depending on the park hours. The second show is generally less crowded. Because of the loud noises, temporary darkness and "creepy villains that stalk the night", Fantasmic! may frighten younger children. Please arrive 2 hours before showtime. Seating begins 90 minutes beforehand, but it fills up EXTREMELY fast during the summer season. If you'd like to catch it, please plan accordingly. Normally, you should be able to arrive 60-45 minutes before showtime and still get a seat in the Mickey seating area. Because of the strong pressure of water coming out of the jets, you may get wet. If you don't want to get a little sprinkled, don't sit towards in the first ten rows. If something happens with the weather at the Walt Disney World Resort, a special showing of Fantasmic! called Fantasmic! Fountains is played for about 5-10 minutes so you can still hear and see samples of the music and show. For the best view, try to get a seat in the Mickey section (the middle seating section). Disney/Pixar Block Party Bash - Join your favorite characters from A Bugs Life, Toy Story, Monsters Inc. and The Incredibles as they throw a street parade party out in the streets. This parade stops in two different locations, and occurs only once per day. Consult your TIMES GUIDE for showtimes. Event Notes For the best views, try to grab a seat around the Sorcerer Hat or along the curbs of Hollywood Boulevard. Hollywood Boulevard and Echo Lake Street will be closed during the parade. If you need to cut across, contact a Cast Member for assistance. This is an afternoon parade. If you'd like to see it, please plan your events in the park accordingly. Blizzard Beach
( Wendot blows a break whistle and shouts "Back To Work." ) "Alright, Alright I heard you." That was a joke folks. I like to joke please remember. And yes I'm doing this out of good will and kindness (I forgot why tho) (another joke yes and I know I need lessons from Neoteny on them too). Alrighty then next up on the guide is part 6:
Blizzard Beach I'm sure you know the drill by now. Here's what we have with some if any at all minor/major additions by your favorite VMKF pal me. (Yes it is another joke - sigh - (No one thinks I'm funny it looks like) ) Disney legend has it that after a freak winter storm blanketed the area with snow, Florida's first ski resort was born. When temperatures returned to normal, the powdery snow turned to slippery slush. Slalom courses, bobsled and toboggan runs became downhill waterslides. The chair lift carried swimmers instead of skiers. The ski jump became the tallest, fastest waterslide in the nation. Plunge into the chills and thrills at what is now known as Disney's Blizzard Beach, the most slushy, slippery, exhilarating beach water park anywhere! There's "snow" place like it! Must Sees Big Thrills! Summit Plummet - Look out below! Dare to take the vertical plunge from the top of the world's tallest and fastest free-fall body slide. At an exhilarating height of 120 feet, this sky-scraping ski jump of a thrill ride drops you down the slopes of Mount Gushmore at a speed-limit-breaking 55 miles per hour for a 360-foot long trip back to the lower atmosphere. The mountain beckons — don't be a "flake." Typical Summer Wait Times: 10-50 minutes It is recommended you ride Summit Plummet early. Slush Gusher - Speed down the 90-foot tall Mount Gushmore in a slush-banked mountain gully. Two humps create brisk fun-filled ups and downs on your journey to the bottom of the powder-capped mountain. Launch down the slopes in the shadow of Summit Plummet. There's "snow" other ride like it. Typical Summer Wait Times: 10-30 minutes Downhill Double Dipper - Shoot the tube and blast down the slopes at 25 miles per hour in these side-by-side speed slides. Hop on your inner tube and disappear into a tunnel before remerging seconds before your splashdown. These two parallel 230-foot-long racing slides are a slippery good time. Typical Summer Wait Times: 10-40 minutes Toboggan Racers - Race in one of eight side-by-side lanes that toboggan down the mountain. Hang on to your mat and head down the slopes. Exhilarating dips make your charge to the finish line an avalanche of fun. Ready. Set. Snow! Typical Summer Wait Times: 10-30 minutes Mild But Wild Thrills! Runoff Rapids - Take your choice of three incredible inner tube rides that careen down the hill into a refreshing plunge pool. Each flume is different, so try all three! One is completely enclosed, while the others are open. All three twist and turn on tantalizing water-logged journeys down the banks of Mount Gushmore. It gushes with fun! (Enclosed Tube) (Open Tube) Typical Summer Wait Times: 10-60 minutes Note: To get to the loading area, guests must ascend numerous stairs carrying their own raft. Only one person may ride in the Enclosed Tube, whereas two can ride in the open. Teamboat Springs - Bring the whole gang aboard one of the world's longest family raft rides. Twelve hundred feet of white water and rushing waterfalls make the twisting, turning journey from the top of the mountain to the bottom a giggling, screaming adventure. Three- to six-passenger inner tubes ensure that the family that rafts together, laughs together! Typical Summer Wait Times: 10-20 minutes Snow Stormers - Ready. Set. Sled! Speed down the slopes in switchback slalom-style racing slides. Bank through the curvy path marked by ski-type gates. Choose from one of three different downhill racing courses. Hop on your mat and compete with your friends. Meet in the plunge pool at the bottom of the course and hop out of the water to start all over again. The race is on! Typical Summer Wait Times: 10-30 minutes Sports, Relaxation and Recreation Cross Country Creek - Kick back and "chill" in an inner tube on this gently meandering river that flows around the entire Park. Bask in the warmth of the sun. Use the Creek as a transportation system to effortlessly get from one area of the Park to the next or just ride along and watch the world drift slowly by. Go with the flow! Melt-Away Bay - Take a dip in the gently bobbing waters of this bay that is fed by the melting snow run-off from Mount Gushmore. The expansive one-acre pool is great for those who want to wade in and just get their feet wet or take an invigorating swim. Pounding waterfalls make a great retreat when you really need a refreshing plunge. Fun For Little Ones Tike's Peak - Little kids are invited to have mountains of fun in this water play area. The youngest Blizzard Beach goers can slide, splash and swim while sunning in the "snow" in this spot reserved just for them. Gentle body slides, an inner tube slide, interactive fountains, pop jets and a wading pool ensure a chillin' good time. More Fun for Everyone! Chairlift - Scale the slopes in a colorful, fanciful wooden chair lift with umbrellas and dangling skis. Hop aboard this one-way access to the top of Mount Gushmore for access to Summit Plummet, Slush Gusher, Teamboat Springs, Toboggan Racers and Snow Stormers. Be a sport and ride the chair with flair! Great Shops! Lottawatta Lodge - If you're looking for fabulous Blizzard Beach gifts, then Lottawatta Lodge is the stop for you. You'll find soda mugs and beach towels and rice krispie treats and even beach balls. Great Food! Quick Bites Avalunch - Stop that mountain of hunger by grabbing a light entrée, snack or dessert here. Next to the entrance to the Chair Lift, this is a great last stop before you take on the conquest of Mount Gushmore. fries, assorted chips, funnel cakes, beverages S, $ Lottawatta Lodge Cafe - Swoosh on into this ski lodge when hunger calls. Satisfying entrées, including pizzas, burgers, salads and sandwiches are available, along with tasty desserts and ice cold beverages. It's the perfect après-ski slide experience. burgers, pizza, fries, sandwiches, salads, beverages, funnel cakes, hot dogs L, D, S, $ Polar Bear Pool Bar - Brrrrace yourself for the frosty refreshment of these tropical treats. Frozen adult drinks and an assortment of other thirst-quenching beverages make this the cool spot to be. Tropical beverages, adult drinks, sodas, pina coladas, funnel cakes, chips S, $ Key: $: $5-$10 L: Lunch, D: Dinner, S: Snack Note: Prices are based per person. Extra Information Blizzard Beach is only open when they are operating under maximum capacity. Once a certain number of people are in the park, it closes to those outside until guests leave. Attractions in the park may temporarily halt operation due to inclimate weather. The Chairlift will not operate during a windy day. Towels and lockers are available at Snowless Joe's Towel and Locker Hut. They are also available in Lottwatta Lodge. There is limited space on Melt-Away Bay. Stake out beach chairs before they fill up. Okay dokey. I think I see a storm coming for the next part of the new guide. Aloha for now (No not really). -Stitch |
