That actually would make me interested in the film. Elfman has certainly proved himself capable for dark musicals. And even though this is a kids movie, the more mature Elfman that has come out in recent years would be far more appropriate than the zany Beetlejuice, NBC, Elfman of the late 80s and early 90s.

I'm sure they could even get Zac Effron to lip-synch to Elfman's voice.

I'd actually prefer High School Musical to be a classic, without sequels. -_-

I agree... they must get Danny Elfman if they even think of getting me to watch it.

I didn't like HSM cause it was too bleh.. But I didn't hate it. I would have liked it, but then they over-did it... Park Prep Rally, Concerts, everything...

Two things:

1) I might sound stupid, but who is this Danny Elfman?
2) I think we can agree that the HSM phenomenon has gone WAAAY too far. As said in other threads, Haunted HSM is..... *gulp* planned to be in......theaters.

I for one LIKED High School Musical the first time it premeired on Disney Channel... then it got boring!

Bringing in Elfman wouldn't be such a bad idea.

His score was great in the Spider-Man movies.

And he scored Chicago, a movie musical, a best picture academy award winning movie musical.

You could say he's composed for almost every movie you've seen. (Almost) all of them being pure awesome.

I'd understand TV Movie but theaters is stretching this out too far.
They're probably still kicking themselves in the back for not releasing the first movie in theaters.

The only two cast members not in talks are Lucas Grabeel and Monique Coleman.

I'll have to see Hairspray before I start thinking about High School Musical 3.
