I'm not a big fan of rep., a lot of times you just give it to people you like and then half end up with it, and the other half don't.

Yes, I already knew that. I mean, I just don't see why rep points are needed for noticing it. . .

Rep means reputation, whenever you have a good well writting, helpful post people give you rep for your post. Whenever you don't have a very appropriate post mods will take away rep. Everyone starts out with one star rep, and if your rep is red that means that you have negative rep. The rep is the little star in the right hand corner of your post, to give others positive rep you click on the little scale in the right hand corner.

You can disable it. Just go to User CP > Edit Options > and uncheck the second box that says ' Show your Reputation Level'

No, they were those green squares, they changed them a few months ago.

I have another question about rep that hopefully was not asked before...

Why do we only get it back for holidays? Is it supposed to be a kind of 'treat' for us? Personally, I don't mind rep, but a lot of people don't like it.
