Chapter 1

Kayte rolled her eyes and walked toward the computer, only to be stopped by her mother.
"Where do you think you're going, young lady?" Kayte's mom said with a sharp needle type tone in her voice.
"I don't know, to bed?" said Katye sarcastically as she pointed to the computer.
"I don't think so, missy, upstairs, NOW." said Katye's mom even more sharply this time.
Kayte rolled her eyes once more and walked towards the stairs, and right when she had her foot on the stairs, her devilish little brother, Dylan ran right in front of her.
"Where ya going, Kate Kate?" Dylan asked curiously.
"Upstairs, mom said so." Katye scoffed as she walked up one more stair.
"Oh oh, can I come too?" Dylan laughed as he said that and ran up the stairs into Katye's room.
"Get back here!" Katye hissed, and ran to the door, just as it was slammed in her face, she tried to open it quickly. It was locked.
"Dylan!!" Katye screamed and then hit the door with her fist.
She leaned back against the door and put her face in her knees, "It's no use." She whispered almost silently, "this family is a wreck..."

Chapter 2

"Dylan, please open the door?" Katye asked as polite as she could.
"Nah." Dylan opened the door and was about to slam it again, but Katye put her hand in to stop it.

Katye's hand had been slammed on.

Katye screamed and screamed at Dylan really really loud.
"DYLAN!!!!" Screamed Katye.
Dylan gave his answer some thought. "Sorry." He said flattly.
Katye's mom ran up the stairs and walked toward Katye and Dylan. "What was all this screaming about?" She asked quietly, but they could hear here.
Katye pulled her hand out as tears ran down her face fast.
Katye's mom looked at her hand then looked at Dylan, "What did you do this time?" She asked flattly.
Dylan stuttered with his words, "I uh, uh...smashed her hand on accident?" Dylan chuckled nervously.

Katye's mom looked at Katye's hand and sighed. "Let's get you all fixed up, shall we?" She said concerned.
Dylan just stood there, until Katye's mom (Riley) looked mad at him.

Riley licked her lips, "Go to your room, mister. You're grounded for hurting your sister."

Chapter 3

Katye's hand was all fixed up, but it hurt bad still.
She got out her diary and began writing;

Dear Diary,
Today Dylan almost broke my hand! I was so mad.
It hurt SO much
I can't believe that little brat is my brother.
Father still isn't home for work, and it's getting late.
I'm off to the computer now, I'll write back.

She closed her diary, made sure to hide it in her pillow, and got out her iPod.
Katye listen to "Face Down" as she walked down the stairs, making sure she didn't hit her hand.
She sat in the computer room and typed in her fast typing skills on VMK.

Dylan walked up the stairs and sat in Katye's room again.
He got the key hidden in the bed and got out Katye's diary from her pillow.
Dylan began reading and laughed a bit.

Just as he stopped laughing, Katye's window broke and the glass made a huge noise, Dylan jumped, surprised.
A bat had flew through the window and hit Katye's bedroom floor which left a mark.

Katye screamed; "DYLAN!! What Did You Do Now!?"

Dylan ran under Katye's bed and hid, afraid she was going to go crazy when she found out what happened.
