Chapter 47: This is our future…?



hikoik let out a satisfied smile, hearing Blossomflower’s screams from the trashcan, and watching her legs kick wildly.

His smile instantly dropped though, when a huge crowd of people, guesty… and normal with gray clothes, walked down the street. There was a little bit of chattering going around in the crowd, but in a hushed tone, as if they were afraid to be heard.

Concerned, soda and candy got up, and walked over next to hikoik to look at the swarm of people.

“What’s going on?” asked soda.
“Dunno… looks like they’re all here for something..” replied hikoik, a tense look on his face.

“What’s going on? What something?” said flower, her voice echoing through the trashcan.

“You’re sure they can’t see or hear us right?” asked candy in a hushed tone.
“Positive. Me and flower already…. did a lot of takin’ advantage… heh…” said hikoik, a mischievous smirk making its way to his mouth.
“Yes, and flower would now like you, hikoik, to use this moment to your ‘advantage’ and GET ME OUT OF HERE.” yelled flower, her voice booming through the trashcan.

“… come on.” whispered candy, and led the other 2 into the crowd of people, to try and listen to their hushed conversations.
“Maybe we can figure out why they’re here…” whispered soda, when she noticed a couple of particular gray-dressed people.

“… doesn’t that look like… Mizz.V and Cool-Dolphin?” she said, pointing to the two people, who were walking slowly and wearily.
“….. you’re right…” said candy, and the 3 rushed over there, ignoring flower’s “Hellllllllllo..? GET ME OUT.. where are you guys…”

They stood by them, not too close for comfort, but close enough to hear their whispers, as they began to speak.

“Agh… another day of honoring ‘The Princess…’” mumbled Dolphin, rolling his eyes.
“I’m sick of this torture… and I thought TAXES were bad.” replied Mizz, giving a disgusted look to nothing in particular.
“Remember a year ago, when we first ran into her?” asked Dolphin, memories flashing through his eyes.
“… yep. It was kinda fun running from her… but she eventually got the rest of us… took over the world… we’re lucky to be even BE here… I feel sorry for hikoik though. Man, she really did quite a number on him…”
“… I wonder what he did to her to deserve that…”
“I dee kay. Beats me.”
“So, do you think they’re still in the dungeon?”
“I think she had them flew over to that deserted island?”
“I thought that was just a rumor… I hear they’re serving as slaves in her castle.”
“Wow.”
“I don’t wanna go there AGAIN. Seeing that place makes me barf.”
“Well if you don’t, do you wanna end up like the rest of them?”


The 3 stared each other, shocked by what they just heard.
“… she got to us….” whispered candy.
“AND took over the world…” continued soda.
“… what did guestalina do to me…? or.. is about to do?” said hikoik, gulping.
“… they said they were going to the castle… let’s follow them, maybe we can find out more info.” said candy, and the other 2 nodded, and began to follow the slowly moving crowd, about to head down a steep hill, and towards the castle beyond.


“Guys….? Seriously…” whined flower in a soft voice. After a moment of silence, she pushed her legs away from the wall, causing the can to tip. She landed with a grunt and a loud “CLANG” and tried to squirm out of the trashcan. Unfortunately, it was one of those smaller mini ones, and hikoik had just forced her in… so she was basically squeezed in tight.

Giving up, she managed to stand on her knees, and stood up from there, the trashcan still stuck to her top half.

“Guys?” she said, taking a few steps, but stumbling.

**CLANG**

She crashed into a brick wall.

Wobbling, she walked over unsteadily to where the end of the crowd was, hearing light footsteps, and crashed into about 4 people, who couldn’t see her…

“AHHH!”
“OWW”
“what was that?”
“IT’S A FLOATING TRASHCAN!??”

Candy, hikoik and soda looked back to see what all the commotion was about, as they were standing near the bottom of the hill. They saw a rattling garbage can moving forward, knocking people aside.

“What the…” said soda, with her o.o face.
“……….. OH NO, FLOWER!” yelled hikoik, as flower’s full body came into view, whacking people along the way, when she tripped on someone’s leg…

With a yelpy gasp, she fell down face-first at the start of the slope, and tumbled over. The trashcan was upright again, with her upside down… and she then tipped forward once more with a painful thud, and horizontally rolled down the hill rapidly.

The 3 stared in awe to see flower roll down the hill like that… who knew anyone could ever roll THAT fast?

She passed them, leaving a dusty trail behind her, and began to curve a little. She smashed into the side of a steel building with great impact, producing one of the loudest CLANGS ever produced by trashcans.

The 3 ran over to her, as she rolled over backwards a bit, revealing a huge dent in the trashcan…

“FLOWER!” yelled candy, eyes wide from shock.
“Dude…. that…. was…
ONE OF THE COOLEST THINGS I’VE EVER SEEN IN MY ENTIRE LIFE. DO IT AGAIN!” hikoik yelled, his voice glowing with amusement.

Flower lied there, unresponsive.

“… flower?” asked Soda, kicking the trashcan.

Nothing.

hikoik walked over to her, and pried the trashcan off, revealing flower covered in smoothie… some lettuce… is that tomato? … oh, and a banana peel.

She groaned, eyes half open, as candy and soda leaned in closer to examine her face, and hikoik was just standing there, cracking up as hard as he possibly could.

“Flower… how many fingers am I holding up?” asked Soda, holding up 2 fingers.
“…………………………………. 4……. 3….. 4………………. 5 ………. 4………….” said flower, slurrily.

Candy and soda paused and looked at each other for a moment.

“… Ah well, time to get you to the castle..” Candy said, pulling flower up by the arm, the banana peel sliding off her face. Taking a few wobbly steps, flower walked over to a snickering hikoik, and raised her finger as she opened her mouth to say something undoubtedly mean. But then, she collapsed into his arms, smudging smoothie all over his shirt.

“Uh.” said hikoik, uncomfortable. He let go of her awkwardly, and stared at his shirt with a disgusted face, as flower landed at his feet with a muffled thud.
