Old rides in Disney...?

What were old rides in Disneyland? I started going to Disneyland and DCA when I was little but I scarcely remember anything from when I was little.

Well I was never on it...but there was that one submarine ride where Nemo Submarine Voyage, or whatever it's called, is now.

Assuming you mean extinct attractions, there have been quite a few. Here are the ones I can remember off the top of my head...

Disneyland:

Skyway
PeopleMover
Submarine Voyage/20,000 Leagues Under The Sea
Nature's Wonderland
Fort Wilderness at Tom Sawyer's Island
Bear Country Jambouree
America Sings

Disney California Adventure:

Superstar Limo (If you missed it, don't be too disappointed!)

Adding to Garffy's list (in no way a complete list, but just a few that stand out in my mind):
  • Captain EO
  • Rocket Rods
  • CircleVision-360
  • Flying Saucers
  • Adventure Thru Inner Space
  • House of the Future
  • Carousel of Progress
  • Motor Boat Cruise
  • Swiss Family Treehouse

Seems we can all name quite a few from Tomorrowland...which for a land that is supposed to represent the future, makes sense. Although I do miss many of the old rides. But rides get replaced :/
  • Carousel of Progress -----> America Sings -----> Innoventions
  • Magic Eye Theater and Captain EO -----> Honey, I Shrunk the Audience
  • Adventures Thru Inner Space -----> Star Tours
  • People Mover -----> Rocket Rods -----> nothing
  • Rainbow Caverns Mine Train/ Mine Train through Nature's Wonderland-----> Big Thunder Mountain Railroad
  • Country Bear Jamboree -----> The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh
  • Superstar Limo -----> Monsters Inc Mike & Sulley to the Rescue

What I loved about VMK was how they honored the park's history...

At least some of those things are still in Disney World like the People Mover and the Carousel of Progress.

Why would you feel bad for them? They've got two awesome parks.

If only VMK came up with some remote way to honor Horizons, other than the thumbnail of a thumbnail in the VMK Gallery.

NaviMap has turned into a sparkling Pirate!NaviMap has turned into a sparkling Pirate!
A few to add on:
  • Mickey Mouse Club Theater (Was where Pinocchio’s Daring Journey is)
  • The Stagecoach and Mule rides that preceded Nature's Wonderland & Big Thunder Mountain
  • Keel boats (I think one still sits along the Rivers of America as a prop)
  • Viewliner (A small train that opened only for 1 year. It was the around the Northeast area of the park where parts of Autopia reside)
  • Mission to the Moon, then replaced by Mission to Mars after the actual Lunar landing (Now it's currently Redd Rockets Pizza Port)
  • Holidayland (I think that's what it was called. It was like a picnic/events area and I think there may have been a circus at one time. It was located around where the Carnation Plaza Gardens is.)

I love VMK because you can look back at some of the best rides that no longer exist.

I thought they closed them down because there were so many accidents on them.

I'm sure that could be one of a few reasons why they would close some of these rides. Here is what I think:

-The attractions were getting old, and worn - they may have needed an updated ride?

-Attraction was causing too many accidents?

-The attraction was not very popular, and did not get good reviews?

-The attraction was constantly not working properly?

That is why I think they closed some attractions at Disneyland. I really wish that they could keep those attractions open, they seemed so interesting. Does anybody have any different opinions on why they closed?

wasn't Haunted Mansion there when WDW opened? So that's kinda old. Some rides I know that are gone:

- Mr. Toad's Wild Ride ---> The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh
- Flight to the Moon ---> Mission to Mars ---> ExtraTERRORestrial Alien Encounter --> Stitch's Great Escape
- Something called Dreamflight, I think ---> Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin
- Timekeeper

And one for EPCOT, I think I remember my parents telling me about something called Horizons and the attraction inside it is closed. And isn't El Rio del Tiempo, the Mexico ride, closed now? Sorry if I'm wrong with anything.

I'm almost positive that those two are still there.
I haven't been there since '06, I think, but I'm pretty sure they are still there.
