Walking Down an Empty Hallway

PROLOUGE

My name is Thomas Night. I’ve walked this hallway countless times. This dark, dank, and damp hallway. I’ve finally gotten what I wanted in life. I’m still not happy. Why not? Well, I think it would be best to start from the beginning. At August 15, 2009. My first day at my new home. My first day at my new school. My first day at Amberstone Prep Academy.

Chapter 1-My first day

I walked through the large doors of Amberstone Academy. I didn’t expect a school of this size in East Tennessee. The campus was about the size of a college campus. Being a freshman (high school, not college) here, I felt, well, I don’t know, out of place.

I walked up to the lady at the desk. “Name, please,” she said. “Thomas Night,” I said. She pressed a few keys on the computer’s keyboard and studied the screen. “Here it is. Dorm 216,” she told me. “Thank you,” I said.

As I walked up the stairs to my dorm, I encountered my first difficulty. Seniors. Two really muscular ones tripped me, causing my suitcase to roll down the stairs. “Yo, freshie,” said the larger of the two. They looked as if they lived on a diet of donuts and soda. Weird, considering they had so much muscle. “If you want to survive around here, you gotta get some more balancing skills.” I shot a glare at them, as I gathered my things at the bottom of the stairs. As if I didn’t have enough of this at home. I thought.

I reached my dorm room and set out my things on the bed: A few changes of clothes, all my school supplies, my toothbrush and toothpaste, my phone, and my Mp3 Player. I flopped down on my bed and thought to myself, I wonder if things actually will be better here, I figured I was judging this place too quickly. After all, I’ve only met two people. Even if they are total jerks.
