Does anyone have an IBM? I do, and it's sooo slow! It's required to have a ThinkPad for school, but I think they're so bad! I do spyware and virus scans everyday, and I have consummate virus protection, and yet, it's still wayyy slow! It freezes up when I play VMK, and whenever I try to click the cash register in shops, it doesn't do anything for up to/over 10 minutes! Does anyone else have this problem? :thmotocanagliatesta

EDIT// If it matters, I have Centrino.

ThinkPad isn't a program.. it's the type of laptop or something.

I have an IBM ThinkPad for work. In fact, I'm using it right now. :) I never really had any computer problems with it. Do keep in mind though, VMK is a game which takes up more memory. All of my work is done online, so besides having a few web pages up, I really don't use any memory (unless I'm doing reports on Excel or Word). What kind of computer connection do you have? I'm using broadband, so that could be something that's making your computer slow as well.

Well, try running Disk Cleanup, Disk Defragmenter, CHKDSK, and if it is just slow booting up, run MSCONFIG. BTW: Which Centrino do you have? Duo or Solo?

Note: Those that are in CAPITALS, are ran from the "Run" program in the Start Menu. Just type those in and away it goes. I would not reccomend using MSCONFIG if you do not know the file names of various programs. What that does is takes out the programs you do not want it to boot up, so it is faster.

Thanks, allowsas :) I have no idea if I have Duo or Solo, where does it say? I just have a sticker that says Centrino on it :D

BTW, what is CHKDSK? I need to know what it does before I do it, cuz the TechZone at school will kill me if I delete anything important XD

CHKDSK just checks your disk for missing or corrupted Windows files.

I can't really help out much since it is a regular Centrino.

Here are some pics of what I was talking about:

http://www.intel.com/support/notebook/centrino/duo/cmtduo.gif (http://www.intel.com/support/notebook/centrino/duo/)Newer one.

The bottom two are the ones I am really good at.
