wow i think that looks like either all the castles of disney parks (Disneyland, Walt Disney World, HKDL, Disneyland Japan, Disneyland Paris etc) is there more i missed? LOL
or maybe it is passed castles or concepts of disneyland but the first theory seems more likely

here is some info about the float from HGTV

Disney Parks (#47)
Float Theme: The Most Magical Celebration on Earth

Celebrating 50 years of Disney theme park magic, Disney Parks around the world continue the fun and excitement of their global "Happiest Celebration on Earth" throughout 2006. The Disney float entry is highlighted by a floral depiction of five beloved Disney castles as seen in California, Florida, Japan, France and Hong Kong. Soaring nearly 50 feet high and 150 feet long (the longest Rose Parade entry this year), the float features the U.S. premiere of the newest Disney song "One," written exclusively for the recent grand opening of Hong Kong Disneyland.

The float is composed of more than 50 distinct varieties of roses with plant materials from each of the Disney theme park host countries and states. Sleeping Beauty Castle at Disneyland in southern California stands prominently in the float design as the original Disney symbol of magic and happily-ever-afters.

I wasn't expecting the fireworks, so that was a nice surprise. I really think that set it apart from all the other floats. The umbrella's blended in well, I didn't really noticed that they had them because the rain until the float passed.

Unfortunately it has passed, you can finish watching the parade on HGTV, ABC, or NBC.

Note: HGTV has no commercials

Edit: If I can get my computer hooked up to the DVR, I will try to post the video. No promises though.

The parade was really beautiful, it really lit up the parade and woke everyone up with the big size of the float, the new song and the cool fireworks, even though all the rain. I can't wait till they show it at California Adventure like last time.

I didn't like the song, it seemed so... fake. You could tell they were lip syncing and the dance numbers were a bit cheezy, but overall it turned out very well.

Yeah i like the song from last year's float more than this song. The girl didn't sing it that well. Idk that's just me though

They are replaying the whole thing on the Travel Channel. For all of you that missed out, it's your chance to see the awesome Disney Float.

"This has to be...the most beautiful. The most peaceful place." => Worst artistic decision for a parade. Ever.

Disney has hit foul balls with lots of their 50th songs. I can't stand the theme song for the Parade of Dreams at Disneyland...and their song for the Rose Parade was just as bad. I didn't catch the entire show, but did they break into a poppy interlude like they do with the Parade of Dreams? I was so glad I was safe inside the it's a small world show building before the "gospel pop interlude came on."

The float was gorgeous...and I'm so glad they made (Disneyland's) Sleeping Beauty Castle the focal point of the parade. It is Disneyland's birthday after all...not Disney World's!

Let's just hope Disney leaves the float for the float viewing up in Pasadena. It was such a shame they didn't leave the Tower of Terror float in the parade barn. It seemed so crass and commercial that they brought it to the California Adventure so quickly.

I watched the parade on HGTV. I loved the Disney float so much I watched it two more times, once on NBC (since they were behind HGTV in showing the parade) and then later on Travel Channel.

Loved the fireworks. What a great surprise!

I know what you mean. In almost all the television ads it focuses so much on WDW, it doesn't even mention Disneyland. Instead of saying "50 years of theme park magic". They should include Disneyland somewhere in there.

That float was done extremely well...

I like how all the castles were incorporated into the float...

Cinderella Castle was my favorite, of course...

I knew some of you Disneyland fans would be jealous that Walt Disney World constantly steals Disneyland's thunder...

"People who visit Walt Disney World in 2021, when it's Walt Disney World's 50th birthday, are really going to be confused..."

People, myself included, still think/thought that the Magic Kingdom park opened first...

and I have yet to see one Television/Newspaper ad to solely have Disneyland advertised too...:xmas17:

Hello Everyone! Well I got off from work at 8:00am and got VIP tickets to see the parade (Since it was pouring there was a lot of VIP tickets left) when I saw the Disney Float it was beautiful, although the rain had caused a lot of floats to drive a lot faster than before, The Disney Float looked amazing everyone who participated in the Disney Float were drenched and freezing, it was no matter to them, they had HUGE smiles on their faces which made all the kids jump for joy as it sped up. I will have all the pictures posted later on. Have a Happy New Year!!

Uh...thanks for bringing back this already pretty much concluded thread.

Mods, is there a place where this can be moved, or possibly closed? I'd say it's old news now.
