Are you 23?

I don't know if 23 is an age or some sort of code. Know one knows if it is a game, a movie, or TV show. I guess we'll have to wait until March 10!

I've heard that it is going to be a substitute for VMK. Now dont go into a screaming match with me, but I have heard it will be a game called Club 23. Will be memberships only, pay to play. A free option will most likely happen, with not as many benefits just like TT, POTCO, Club Penguin, etc.

Disney knows that they need an online game to draw in the teenage crowd, and they've learned that having a specific theme like TT or POTCO wont work. They need something to cater to all ages, like Club Penguin, but make it more geared towards the teenagers and up.

I've got some evidence to this.... this is not my theory, heard it from someone else. BUT if you are interested in finding out for yourself, pm me or search some Disney fansites and blogs.......

And no it is definitely not a ride.

First, here are the facts that back up my theory:

John Lasseter from Pixar attended the Consumer Electronics Show to commend Sony for its Blu Ray technology. Pictoral evidence of this can be found here (http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2009/01/ces2009-soneykey-rm-0636.jpg). While at the CES, Lasseter hinted at 3D film coming up in the future.

"Pinocchio: 70th Anniversary Platinum Edition" is going to be released to Blu-ray on March 10th.

Using these facts, I am predicting that 22 other Disney films may be released to Blu-ray along with Pinocchio on March 10, 2009, making a total of 23 releases.

I think asking fans if they're 23 is asking them if they have purchased all 23 releases (the answer would obviously be no until they would be released on March 10). I'm thinking that Pixar and Disney are teaming up due to the fact that Tinkerbell is not a Pixar character (and Tinkerbell appears on the Are you 23? page). Knowing how great Pixar/Disney films are (Toy Story, A Bug's Life, Monster's Inc, Finding Nemo, Cars, etc.), I'm hope for these releases to be spectacular if my prediction somehow comes true.

Very good job Disney on keeping your lips sealed! When fans have to come up with crazy theories based on coincidental facts like this, you know you've done your job!

What do you guys think Are you 23? is going to be? I'm hoping it will be a new VMK likegame, but I think it's going to be the release of 23 Disney classics onto Blu-Ray. So what do you think? :2dlrp:

Always,

I hope it's not something about blu ray... No offense but what i waste of suspense! What is it what is it?!!? BLU RAY!? No...

lol, it wont be anything Blu Ray.

It's most likely going to be a Disney Fan Club. Because there was a link that someone found a few weeks ago that went to pictures of a pin that had "D23" on them and supposedly these are pictures of the "Are You 23?" group pin. But now Disney changed the link and it goes to a picture of a Mickey Mouse doll now. lol ;)

The best speculation I've seen comes from the insert booklet to the Platinum Edition DVD of Pinocchio to be released on March 10. It features a picture of Jiminy Cricket sporting a "23" badge and the captions "The Official Community for Disney Fans", and "Join at Disney.com/D23". I've also seen images of pins that are supposed to be exclusive for D23 members.

It looks like it could be a semi-exclusive online club where members would have access to events and merchandise for a modest fee.

I guess we still have to wait and see though.

I was searching through the internet, and found that it was also a magazine. I would the post the picture, but I am probably not allowed to. This is a Disney 23 Official Community for Disney Fans!

I'm so excited! :)

EXTRA NOTE: I just remembered that the Walt Disney Company was founded on October 16, 1923. Interesting how so many things Disney, could be connected to this "Official Community"!

Exactly! With the economy how it is, I can't believe Disney is trying to find their average sucker. :p

Yup, sadly just another scheme to get poor fans to fork over all their hard-earned money on something that isn't worth it. It sounds like a site competing with another wonderful little online community that's free and watched by the Disney company already. Unfortunately D23 could never be anywhere near the caliber of that site though. Certain people can pay all they want but money isn't what makes you a real Disney fan.

Oh well, this isn't the first time Disney has disappointed me and it won't be the last.

Hello everyone, this is la4gator.

I happened to get a Disney Newsreel in the mail and a new website has been made called D23. It is a cool website with news for die hard disney fans. You may want to check it out

Click here (http://d23.disney.go.com/index.html?cmp=d23_OFC_D23_vanity_d23_Extl) for the website.

I really want that Walt and Oswald sculpture. I have been looking for something like that for a long time. BUT.. It is over $200, and I would need to pay the $75 membership fee. I also wish I could suscripe to the D23 magazine without becoming a member.. Then again, If I was able to get to the Expo, I would pay $75 in a heartbeat.
