monkeyfunkychunky 04-14-2008, 12:51 AM NICE. Now that's raising your voice.
Nickpf 04-14-2008, 12:53 AM wii news is something half the world has Good Luck. This should work!
2starTagregory 04-14-2008, 12:53 AM Thank you so much, and remember to send it to your local papers! I really am submitting it to Wii news, so I wish me and everyone the best of luck!
CapnOlaf 04-14-2008, 12:54 AM Whoah, Wii News. I'll be sure to check for it on there. hehe :D
On a video site that I will not release the name of, I have posted a short fictional film based around the closing, hoping to get it's message through so people will help save VMK.
If VMK ever closes, sure I'll stay silent. But until that day comes, I'm not going out without a fight. Frankly, I wont go out without a fight if VMK closes either.
2starTagregory 04-14-2008, 12:56 AM I am going to Wii.com to find out how to submit news :)
iamprincess 04-14-2008, 01:00 AM When is vmk scheduled to close??
CapnOlaf 04-14-2008, 01:01 AM When is vmk scheduled to close??
May, the 21st.
EtnaGreen 04-14-2008, 01:01 AM And how will you be keeping vmk open? My plan to save vmk goes a little like this:
I will get a group of ninjas, I will teach these ninjas how to fly airplanes, then I shall get them some chimp accomplices to help them on their daring journey.
their journey will be some what like this:
Step 1:Fly their airplane to the smartest person in the world's house.
Step 2: Convince the smartest person in the world to make a troup of robots exactly like the vmk team. The ninjas will only have the nuts used to save the television show jericho, to convince this person to do it.
step 3: ninjas leave and fly to walmart to get all the necessary supplies to make the robots.
step 4: The smartest person in the world, the ninjas, and the chimps will then assemble the robots.
step 5: The ninjas will march these robots to vmk head quarters.
step 6: stop at burger king to have a light lunch
step 7: storm vmk headquarters!
step 8: Take the real vmk team to an uber secrect island, where they will the rest of their life in pleasure.
step 9: The vmk robots will refuse to take down the site.
step 10: hopefully disney coporates with us if not I will come up with a plan B.
step 11: celebration dance!!
2starTagregory 04-14-2008, 01:04 AM I am alerting the news.. and Anyone know how to get news on Wii news?
EtnaGreen 04-14-2008, 01:07 AM I am alerting the news.. and Anyone know how to get news on Wii news?
Thats a good idea I think I might do that if I can't find a group of ninjas.
2starTagregory 04-14-2008, 01:08 AM Thanks Shmoofy for moving it and we need not just Etna and I but EVERYONE to!

Generally, robots of any sort are a bad idea, especially sentient ones. Haven't you ever watched Terminator before?
Nobody want's another Skynet.
I like the spirit, though. Keep on fighting for VMK! :P
LordIllidan 04-14-2008, 01:27 AM They're closing because don't want to pay money for it, they're not gonna open because you guys want to play.
And why do they not want to pay money for it? They don't think it's enough of a success.
And what do you call a game with such a dedicated fanbase, that thousands of them will form an organized resistance when they hear it's closing?
More of a success than you think.
xigbar 04-14-2008, 01:31 AM I contacted my local news channel about VMK, and they said they might put it on the news with the link to the main petition! I did it too! I think we all should do this!
KrazyLuke 04-14-2008, 02:13 AM 1. Nintendo does not write up their own articles, but actually gets them from other places just like many other stories and headlines you see and read. Therefore- I am not sure if contacting them would necessarily help.
2. I dont see how contacting your local news station or newspaper would be much help either. Sure, you are getting the story out to the public, but not many people will care for as many probably don't even know of VMK. The news stations are there to have full coverage of what people want to see and know about. Therefore news about the presidential race, the economy, the war, etc. will definitely be before anything regarding a free virtual game closing.
I am not saying to give up, but I wouldn't bother writing your local newspaper unless it's a "bigger" paper that covers more than just the surrounding area news. Although if you live in the Orlando or Anaheim areas it would be good to hit up those local newspapers.
Shartruse 04-14-2008, 05:52 AM Things I'll try to do to save vmk:
1.Sign petitions and even make a charity event to send money to WDIG trying to keep vmk open.
2.Contact local news and newspaper.
3. Pray for luck or a miracle.
4.Keep on emailing Stephen Wadsworth and complain.

Thanks for the info on Nintendo, and I am contacting both cities' papers later today after school.

Thank you! I have seen threads about this and I am glad to know I am not in the open wearing a steak suit.
Whispered
ZooZoo 04-14-2008, 07:28 PM Even though VMK was for the 50th promotion thingie for Disney, it doesn't mean it can't continue
FabMariah 04-14-2008, 08:27 PM i sent this to my local news channel as well and they said theyd look into it
2starTagregory 04-14-2008, 09:12 PM Let's make this happen! We can do it!
TinkTaylor 04-14-2008, 11:55 PM I LOVE How Everyone Has Such A Positive Attitude! I Contacted My Local News Too :)
Thriller 04-15-2008, 12:05 AM To..
My Wii!!
BlueTinky 04-15-2008, 12:11 AM That's a great idea! Also, if any of you have websites, make a section about this and promote that part of your site! If this makes it on any news station, I'd like to know so I cand watch it.
Here's the headline now:
Disney Makes Thousands of People Mad by Closing a Popular Site!
Lol ;-)
StarBP 04-15-2008, 12:24 AM The Wii News gets all their info from the Associated Press. Contact them, not Wii News.
2starTagregory 04-15-2008, 09:06 PM Let's keep up the work, i sent it to Disney's cities' newspapers!
EDIT: Look on this tomorrow morning :) Gtg now but Keep up the good work!
EDIT2: And, WE HAVE MADE NEWS! My local newspaper has published it on THE FRONT PAGE! It shall stay there for at least this week, they said. This also means that Disney will have to consider this. The massive amounts of money they will lose due to this publicity are HUGE! Keep up the good work!
GoodPolarGirl 04-15-2008, 09:14 PM I looked all over the internet and found the news! I have to admit, this is pretty great. Glad it made it on your paper too. Our next target?
hikoik 04-16-2008, 08:43 PM .-. I'm not happy about vmk closing either...... but....... the governor? o.o aren't we getting Just A Bit over our heads?
what reason does he have to try and keep open a small advertisement made by disney?
I'm not saying it's a bad idea, and it could work, proven with the news story and stuff, but yeah.
2starTagregory 04-16-2008, 10:51 PM Uh.. Thank you? I just have to say awesome job VMKF!
MsBored 04-17-2008, 02:10 AM Even though my country has nothing to do with Disney, I'll try to find a news channel to send it to.
I don't think they will ever accept my letter if I send it because Canada + Disney just don't mix. And Canda is more of a, well, the place I live in there are ALWAYS more important news going on so I don't know... :(
