I don't think it will be a very good prize today, VMK seems to give something like ALR Grass rugs or something slightly off-topic to the theme on the Fridays of Ride-a-thons - do you know what I mean?

They save the better prizes for the weekend when most people (and in other countries) can get on.

on the last ride a thon phinny was in the pirate ride start room and i asked her if the trashcans were comin out - she said no :( - but then i asked about the fountains and she said to go check with ned for release dates of items @_@

Every time I keep something rare to trade later they end up re-releasing the item and it is then absolutely worthless 0_o Like right now I'm trying to get some Levitation and Shark Magic (http://www.vmkforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=142663), and it would have been a LOT easier had they not re-released the Red HKDL Shirts a few weeks ago. I had two of them from when they first released them @_@ They were worth tons.. and in one day.. they were down to being worth a measly 100 credits.

I agree...partly. People should not complain as much, but this was probably one of the worst prizes they could have chosen. They were already easy to obtain, being already free. I thought they would release something new/something that hasn't been free before. And out of the other walls, they chose to gave us the worst one of the three. I would rather have an Alice rug 2X2, at least that can be used as grass....

I wondered why the lines were so short until I saw the prize. Wonder why they are giving us something no one wants. You usually can't even give them away, no one will take them. And they sell for 10 credits. I think once was enough for me for the ride-a-thon today.

I thought you can partially stack on this item, just not fully. I seem to remember placing a DLR pumkin along a wall made of these. Please correct me if that is wrong. it's a 2x1 and you can stack on only one of the two spaces.

I think it's nice that they've giving these out. I'm thinking about the younger players really. The ones that can't play games or those of us who stink at some of the games or our computers lag so much you can't ever win. And they're not in the POTC treasure chests so maybes they're retired now. I think since the experienced/older players don't like them or have lots of them it gives the younger/newer players shorter lines so they have a chance to get them.

I don't have enough time to ride more than once, but with that prize.. hah! No need to get on when you already have 40+ of them.

We're lucky VMK gives us something at all, i agree with you gdpot. They could just say "haha you wasted your time by riding this", but they give us something that can be more useful than crates if you use it right. I just now realised this, Thanks VMK :)

Have you ever given a gift (no matter how big or small) and had someone look at you and say gee that was pathetic, why bother, and I don't want you eating any of my cake and ice cream either.

If this happened to me I would be quite disappointed with that person. This game is a judge of character as well as just generally a fun place to be. You can easily see the character of many of the people in this thread.

I think these are ok; they are good building materials. People have been commenting for weeks about how they don't have enough credits to buy anything; VMK gave you Fireworks Fridays and now Pirates Tuesdays and Thursdays. Go earn credits. Go play pirates, Mansion, Fireworks, or Jungle Cruise. Buy some of the new stuff. Buy some of the re-released stuff.

Don't concentrate so much on the negative. Be thankful for what you get; be that time to do something else, or the prize at the end of a very nice ride.

i think the 10 credits is so u go ride the courtyard rides and get coral magic and the walls might be for a competion later on so i would stock up on them my opinon Not for Flying carpet or they would give 1000 credits if they wanted u have flying carpet..

They are giving this stuff out so ppl will have plenty to build with, that matches the theme. I can't believe I didn't think of it before. Even if you do have several pieces, think about the newer people. Ha, it's so simple.

Ok, here's the deal. Most people who are saying lame prizes have been here since last pirate month and before. I didn't like the idea of these prizes, but I figured out why they released them. They are for helping us build in the room competition coming up. Those who have been here a while and complain about re-releases or "not good enough" stuff. You're not the only people VMK is releasing stuff for. People have been on here less time than you and they want them to be able to get a good shot at the stuff that's been out. If you've been here a while and feel these releases are hurting you or aren't good enough, get over it. To act that way is selfish and immature. If mods wanna delete this post, that's fine. As long as at least one person reads it and gets something out of it.

Room competition? What if there is no competition?

Yeah :) I like the turrets, but they're kind of hard to work with sometimes.

I would like to see the trash cans for a prize or have them go on sale. I would also like VMK staff members to create every WDW park and resort.

As a player who just started two months ago this is great that I can build up walls for something.

Anytime you have a ride-a-thon you cannot expect too much of a prize that you can get dozens of.

Ok, here's the deal. Most people who are saying lame prizes have been here since last pirate month and before. I didn't like the idea of these prizes, but I figured out why they released them. They are for helping us build in the room competition coming up. Those who have been here a while and complain about re-releases or "not good enough" stuff. You're not the only people VMK is releasing stuff for.

Yes, but even the people who just got here have been able to get walls and turrets from the Treasure chests...
If we're getting ship parts from the chests now (with the retirement of the POTC website), okay, but they could've waited a few months and let us trade away some of our OLD walls and turrets--

(And besides, is this gonna be Pan Ride Stuff month or not??)

It certainly smells like a room competition on the horizon to me. The walls can be used to build the rooms, while the credits can help to buy other items to decorate the ride rooms or even the ride pieces.

Also, considering the level of anger and criticism that was on display when the prizes were actually nice last week, I can't blame staff for giving us what many people consider to be lame prizes this week.

i dont really care those walls are great! room "stuffers" (things to rise furnish up from the floor to add depth and level to your room)

Well you can thank the people who can just put random boxes out of now where
And just leave it there for hosts to open it.
I usually don't see random boxes in the actual Pirates of the Caribbean ride.
So for the people who still doing that, please stop =/.

if its out in the open it sort of does take away some of the excitement

I know a way you could use the pirate maze walls instead of saying their " useless to your desires ". Put the Turrets in a 3 by 4 area* and put the pirate walls around them and viola! You have a Pirate Fort.

* Make sure the Turrets are higher up or your fort will be awfully small.
** You can make the Top of the fort more than a 3 by 4 area if you want, make it as big as possible even

You shouldn't tell people how to break the rules. It only makes you seem like the bad person (which you are being by getting off).

Please stay on the ride! If you get stuck at the door, click a ride piece to get back on. People can report you and it may result in a ban. You do not want staff to come to the room, seeing you off the ride.

Goofy, do you get that all in the 1 100th ride or each separate ride you get items and it adds up to that?

Which is exactly what I was saying earlier:
Ride-a-thons are "fashion shows" for the next bit of ride furniture, which, as you may have noticed, is islands, waterfalls, and Peter Pan ships...
Just as it was Gingerbread houses the last time, and Alice rides before that, and Club 33 before that.

Since VMK is about park promotion, they use March's "Pirate & Princess Party" (do you Disneyland folks have one over there?--Went to the WDW one last year) as an excuse to tie it into Captain Hook, but it's clear we're getting all that Pan Ride stuff that was supposed to come out at the same time as the Alice Ride stuff.
(In fact, sometimes would get a glitch and have Pan ships appearing on the Alice tracks...They were obviously intended to hit the stores at the same time, ie., back when the Fantasyland Courtyard first appeared.)

And as for why Shark Magic is in stores...have a feeling we're not going to see that Advanced Card Game after all, and all those cool prizes are going to make their way to the stores, just like the Star Carpets and the Tower of Terror Elevator. :stgrin:

Good to see that some people are looking at this ride a thon as good thing. If your determined to ride it 100 times, which is possible, if you started since the morning, considering that the time was changed and maybe not alot of people noticed it in the morning...

What a fun weekend, I managed to catch VMK_Red, and HOST_Harmony throughout the rides.

I've gotten a TON of these walls the last two days and can't wait to get building with them.

I'd like to give a big thanks to HOST_Bella for making these awesome rides, and all the other HOST_'s I have seen running through them - booting players, and just having fun. Thanks a bunch!
