View Full Version : Trade Log Creator
GatorGreen 09-03-2007, 11:21 PM Have you ever traded someone and then forgot their name right away? This can be either simply annoying, or dangerous if you were scammed.
Some players try to write down the name of everyone they trade with on paper or in a document, but this can be extremely tedious.
So, I have created a program that can almost automatically write logs of your trades. As hinted by the thread title, it is called VMK Trade Log Creator. All you have to do is click a button, enter some information about your trade, and the log is instantly created. You can view the created log with a single push of another button. If you wanted to trade the person again or you got scammed, you would have a full log to help you. Or you might simply want to keep record of everything you have traded over time.

(By the way, I'm not using Vista or some kind of Linux distro; that's XP with a Zune skin from Microsoft. The transparency is generated by the program itself. )
VMK Trade Log Creator is completely virus and spyware free and does not modify any part of the game. I will provide the source code to any moderator that needs to verify this.
You probably want to download it by now, so here is the download link.
Click Here To Download (200 KB) (http://vmkprograms.googlepages.com/VMKTradeLogGenerator.exe)
(To view updates for version 0.9.0, click HERE (http://www.vmkforums.com/forums/showpost.php?p=1798105&postcount=38).)
Once you download it, just double click its icon to run it right away. There is no installation needed; it is a self operating executable file. This program only works on Windows. For best results, use XP or Vista. I have not tested it on ME, 2000, or lower.
This is a beta release (version 0.9.0). I have not provided a full ReadMe. Everything in the program is very straight forward. The only thing I need to say is that the first time it is run, it creates a folder in My Documents called Trade_Logs. All logs created are saved there.
Please post any questions, concerns, problems, bugs, typos, or comments here.

Of course not. VMK Trade Log Creator is completely virus and spyware free. What you see is what you get.
Does this not work on a Mac? Doesn't want to work for me.
Sorry, it only works for the Windows platform. I don't believe Mac runs .exe files. Sorry I did not post that earlier.

AlphaGoldFrog 09-09-2007, 03:25 AM Wow very good program; I would suggest making a thread called Ask Here If You Think You Are Being Scammed, or something like that then link to it. If you do use this idea be sure to give me credit.
the_phoenix 09-09-2007, 05:48 AM Finally, I've waited for something like this to come out! Now if only it took pictures too....

That's a possibility, but there's no way I could beat Carioca's method on VMK Pal.

Because the posts in this forum have to be moderated, this thread rarely gets on the Recent Threads list, resulting in a small amount of views. If you enjoy my program, please put this userbar in your signature or in a trade thread. It was created by me in GIMP. Thanks.

It'll be in the next release, which should be out soon.
GatorGreen 10-20-2007, 03:14 AM Ok, NEW RELEASE! Check the first post for details.
Changes in version 0.9.0:
Enhanced speed (not that it was needed).
Enhanced user interface.
Trade Help links are gone, making the main window smaller.
Ability to make the main window semi-transparent!
Please leave comments. Do you like the program smaller, or do you want help links back? Are you confused? Is there a typo?

Disney101 12-08-2007, 05:23 PM It is awesome, I tried a test of it. How did you create it?
thundurga 12-22-2007, 02:57 AM Umm.. Hate to break it to you guys but this i believe is what Yavn called illeagle. This is modifying the game.

Please read the first post. I stated that this program does not modify the game in any way. It simply creates logs of your trades based on information you input.
TheBird 02-18-2008, 07:32 PM When are you going to update the Log with a new version, Gator?
awsomered 03-07-2008, 02:18 AM ill try it
