Duuuude, you are SO not in High School.

Heh, I find it kind of funny that really none of the actors/actresses in the HSM movies are High School aged. They're like 20 @_@ What does Disney go for; the voice, the age, or the looks? 'Prolly anything but the age.

taylorswiftfan13 08-28-2008 01:02 AM

Lol, I know I find that funny too. Well it's Disney, they can get the hottest actors and actresses out there, and they'll take them even if they are not in high school because it will get them more money...

Probably the voice and the looks. Disney looks for people that have talent, and are maybe attractive. At least that's what im guessing.

Actually, when they started the series, Ashley just turned 20, Zac was 18, and Vanessa was 17. So Zac and Vanessa were high school age, but Ashley was really close. I'm not sure about Corbin but I know Monique was REALLY old, like, 26

Ashley Tisdale just turned 23.

they never seem to cast ppl the actual age. theyve been trying to make raven 18 for the last six years. they must just go for the looks, voice and popularity lol

SoccerRyan 08-28-2008 03:24 AM

Yeah, in some cases, it isn't that big of a deal if an actor is older than their role as long as it doesn't make certain situations awkward. Jason Earles on the other hand would not be one of those cases.

Probably the looks. It's just like with Hannah Montana, her brother (Jason Earls) is like 30 something.

Oh ya, that is a really good point...

Given how airheaded they seem, maybe they have all been held back. :134:

Uhhh...yeah, but the thing is, in HSM 1 they're like 9th or 10th graders, and 18 is the normal "You just graduated" age...interesting...LOL

Good point. I guess this can't be avoided in child roles, but in teenager roles it suddenly becomes the search for the looks-too-young-for-their-age actor.

Well the Original High School Musical was released in Jan of 2006 correct? ( I'm probably wrong haha ) but anyways,

Corbin Bleu has just turned 19, so that means when 2 years ago he was 17, but they aired HSM before his 17th birthday, so he was 16 when it was aired. Right?

RockieRoad 08-29-2008 04:05 PM

they get young people to play old people and old people to play young people.

Galaxee 08-29-2008 06:47 PM

Did you know that in movies/TV, any newborn baby is actually two weeks old? That's because babies under two weeks can't work on-set yet. Child labour laws is also why they usually end up using twins to play the roles of smaller children. Then when one has worked for too long, they just switch 'em out.

It is a lot cheaper and more time-effective to use legal adults. Then they can get more shows done faster.
