OK! My friends and I where playing POTC Capture The Flag, and it was the third round. MY friend was halfway to our base with flag, the other team had a rowboat that was at our bases with flag, making our team closer. Other team row boat explode, they win.. It said they where closer to the base.

The same happened to me.. I think it's just a bug.

well, if they did bring the flag closer in your case or had the flag on board their ship at one point and you had never touched their flag they would win ;)

Yep, sometimes the game seems to have trouble determining which flag is closer. A few times I've seen it give the "closer to home" win to a team which hadn't even picked up the opponent's flag!
