That card is exactly the same image as the one on the pin!!! So that means that when you completed all the quests, you got this pin with the tour! VMK then changed it, so that you got the purple VIP badge!! Hence why it is called the VMK Insider Tour Pin!

If I'm not mistaken, the reward for entering the VIP Insider Tour code was always the purple VIP badge.

However, some players received codes that didn't work, and VMK gave them a pin in place of it.

I had always assumed that the pink VIP pin (which these days is given out to players who have won Best Guest Room, Game Room or Quest Room more than once) was the replacement pin. But was it actually this pin instead? Can someone who received a replacement pin back then verify?

That was the pin for the tour if you completed all of the in park quests before the Pirate Insider tour pin.........I mised that one by 2 days but got the pirates insider tour.

How come other people didnt get that tho?

Not everyone did all the quests because no one knew what vmk was at that time, and then even if they finished, it looks like they would have had to go on a tour.

It's a real photo. I took it when I first discovered that pin, printed it out, and brought it to the VMK booth at DLR, asking how to get it. They had never seen it before.

Well we know for sure that it's nor Diby, or Ned, because if my memory serves me right, they both have BIP* badges?
This is either another account of one of them, or it is a 3rd pin that we didn't know about :Oranges.

(Back when you logged in and there was like 400 players at max, lol)
And am also a from day 1 player.
*Even went on the 4th tour VMK ever had at DLR.

The story behind this VIP pin is exactly as Alice posted:

You could trade the Best Guest Room pins.
But soon after VMK went live,
They became non-tradeable

I got this pin yesterday at vmk central (WDW) You buy a special box cantaining 2 pins and 2 vmk codes, the only catch is you cant tell what you getting all of the boxes are the same.
the pin looks like the original pin just the insider tour pin, no backround. I could get an image up if you like..

Look at your pin closely. I believe the pin you got from the VMK Pirate series is actually the Pirates Insider tour pin, not the VIP Insider tour pin. 2 totally different pins but look very similar.

I am not a day one but a few days off and since then i entered my vip code and it did not work and recieved a VIP Pin.

You told me you traded for the VIP Guest Pin, in trade didnt you?

During August 2005, the pin was issued as compensation for players who experienced difficulties redeeming their VIP Badge code.


So that is when i obtained mine
