"WALL * E"? What does that even mean? How is it pronounced?

I think its pronounced like the Name Wally

It was originally "W.A.L.E", which put one in mind of secret-agent ocean mammals, which was...just plain wrong. :thf471fd564zf:

"WALL*E" is now pronounced as it sounds, and seems to be a Pixar-ized version of "Short Circuit".

Didn't somebody else just do a computer-animated movie about robots a couple of years ago?

Pixar didn't. (And all that that implies).

Wall*E. Looks alot better then 'Ratatouille'. That moive looks horrible. Also, Toy Story 3 is still greatly possible.

Aw, I have to post to say that I disagree. I think Ratatouille looks really cute. I have been to Paris several times in the past 5 years, and from just what I've seen in the ads, the way they rendered the backgrounds for that movie is VERY realistic.

Who doesn't want to get to know a mouse who loves fine dining? It looks hilarious.

I for one, can't wait to see it! Cars was excellent, much better than I expected really (I'm not a NASCAR fan), as are all Pixar movies, and I am looking forward to Ratatouille and their other future stories.

I am a huge fan of Short Circuit (I need a hero!). I am interested in any Pixar film. Even now I am still living in the CARS era.
;)

As stated on another site after searching this movie...the teaser trailer will most likely be with the next "Ratatouille" movie. ;)

"National Treasure 2 - December 21, 2007
The Chronicles of Narnia: Price Caspian - May 16, 2008
Wall-E - June 27, 2008"

There's a New Pixar and Disney movie coming out in 2008 called "Wall-E"

http://img462.**************/my.php?image=wallenm7.jpg

"WALL-E is the story about the last little robot on Earth. He is a robot that his programming was to help clean up. You see, it's set way in the future. Through consumerism, rampant, unchecked consumerism, the Earth was covered with trash. And to clean up, everyone had to leave Earth and set in place millions of these little robots that went around to clean up the trash and make Earth habitable again. Well, the cleanup program failed with the exception of this one little robot and he's left on Earth doing his duty all alone. But it's not a story about science fiction. It's a love story, because, you see, WALL-E falls in love with [Eve], a robot from a probe that comes down to check on Earth, and she's left there to check on and see how things are going and he absolutely falls in love with her."

It sounds Interesting, What do u think about it?

Sounds a bit complicated.

The robot looks live-action to me.

Wasn't Toy Story 3 supposed to come out next?

.. I knew about this months ago but for some reason my spoiler posts always get deleted... it's Pixar. Andrew Stanton, actually, so it will be good. And you've got it pretty much covered there. check the archive at Jim Hill Media if you want to see the original article.

Sorry for double posting. This is in the wrong place. And the second movie has to do with the Assasination of Abraham Lincoln. The official movie name is National Treasure: The Book of Secrets.

Where's the source for National Treasure 2?

edit: just looked it up on imdb.com, it's going to be called National Treasure: Book of Secrets. Whoever said it was about Abe Lincoln's assasination is right, and it has the same cast from the first movie.

Wow, that robot looks so real, I thought it was from the upcoming Star Wars TV show. That would be amazing if that kind of detail is found throughout the entire film.

And Ratatouille's short is Lifted. Stu, an alien teen taking his abduction exam, must snatch a sleeping farmer under the critical supervision of his instructor, Mr. B. Wall*E's short has not yet been announced.

And they bumped Toy Story 3 up to 2010.

I found some new news about Wall-E. it's basically the same thing but with a little more detail.

In the not to distant future, Earth has become so toxic that man was forced to abandon the planet. Year 2700, the remaining human society lives aboard a massive spaceship called Axiom that circles overhead, waiting for the day that the planet once again becomes inhabitable.

Hundreds of thousands of robots were built to clean the trash scattered around earth’s surface. But Waste Allocation Load Lifters – Earth Class units (hence the title WALL-E) really weren’t up to the task, and have begun to break down. And now there is only one WALL-E unit left running. The robot with the help of his pet roach Spot, attempts to clean what he can everyday. But over the past few hundred years, the robot has become lonely and self-aware. Curious about the humans that once inhabited the planet, the robot has amassed a collection of human artifacts which includes a Rubik’s Cube, a lightbulb, a Playmate portable ice chest, and an old VCR on which he plays a VHS copy of Hello, Dolly !

One day the spaceship drops a sleek new unit named EVE onto the surface. WALL-E falls instantly in love, and unsuccessfully tries to earn her affection. When EVE is recalled, WALL-E decides to follow her back into outer space.

Spot the roach? lol

My Pixar-obsessed friend informed me about this. He found a website which I've long since forgotten about now that said that the first half hour (or something like that) will have not dialogue, which I think is amazing. I can't wait to see it.

Doesn't sound much like a kid-friendly movie. I'm not complaining about that; I'm just surprised.

Wow, this thread almost died.

It has been announced that Ben Burtt, Oscar-Winning sound designer of Lucasfilm Limited's Star Wars, will be voicing the main robotic characters electronically. Fred Willard will also be voicing a character in the film.

After seeing the 7:00 P.M. Sneak Preview of Ratatouille, I'm already excited to see the film.
