Here from VMK.com, just went live:

01/03/07 SPECIAL EDITION– Announcing the Monorail Music Mixer and a new Land!
Plus VMK game highlights from 2006 - and we remix a VMK favorite, the Castle Fireworks game!

Yavn Speaks Special Edition!

Has everyone recovered from the holidays? Did your team win the big bowl game? I know, we usually update you on Monday, but I thought I'd take a second and give you a mini-update to help get you back in the swing of school/work/life/VMK. To get the ball rolling we have an all new New Year's Quest! Don't worry - you don't need to catch any ghosts, sink any ships, or put on a fireworks show - the new Quest is a question-filled quiz all about VMK's last 12 months.
http://avmk.disney.go.com/avmk_v0300/en_US/media/calendar/YavnSpks-2006-01-03-NewYearPin.jpg
20 correct answers and you're the proud owner of this brand new 2007 Pin!

What? Not enough for you? Then how about the first ever screen of the new Monorail Music Mixer? Main Street is no longer the only place to create the ultimate music jam, now you can hop the Monorail and create a cool mix with all new sounds. The Monorail will still take you around the Kingdom, but why not dance while you ride? The Music Mixer works the same way as the one on Main Street but the sounds are completely different, also note that you can't mix your mixes together (say that 10 times fast), since the mixers are totally separate.

Bust a move with the Monorail Music Mixer!

This Land is your Land
You've probably heard about the new Land coming to VMK by now and like you, I'm excited about the new addition. But before the Welcome Wagon gets here, let me set up this ribbon cutting - the new Land, while very cool and a welcome addition, will be our smallest Land yet.
Now hold on a sec (I hear a collective sigh over the internet), let me explain - before I do, remember in VMK, everything is not always what is seems (for instance, just because the map looks small does not mean the Land is small). In fact, our new Ticketing System was in part designed for a specific location that won't even be on the new land map. ;-) We create locations exclusively for the purpose of enhancing the existing game - as I've said before, we don't want to add rooms just for the sake of adding rooms. So once you've gotten in there and played around, it will make more sense. (Even the new Land's NPC does something totally new - just say the magic "code" word and you might see some magic...)
http://avmk.disney.go.com/avmk_v0300/en_US/media/calendar/YavnSpks-2006-01-03-gw.jpg
Who is this guy - and why is he in my column?

Finally, as we head into 2007, we feel we've made some pretty significant enhancements to the game - VMK Pass, Tickets, Fireworks Remix, Monorail Music Mixer and the new Land - we hope you agree and like all the cool updates we're doing. But hey! That's just the in-game stuff! I can't wait to show you our next Park Quest as well as roll out the revised Park Reward Plan! Until then, enjoy the holiday decorations, they won't be around much longer... And a quick question for you before I go - anybody up for an Epcot Guest Room?

well, with the way the room seems (some computer-like character and special chairs), i'd say we may in fact see a park such as Epcot. It's tough, because the best choices are Epcot (especially since he's hinting an Epcot Guest Room), or Mickey's ToonTown. Well, since yavn has now released a little bit of information about this new land, i say between now and this time next Wednesday it will probably be open. All i know is, this ticketing system is going to be like the single-use keys, only we can use it for admission into some room for the new land. Also, not only is the monorail already more high-tech than the ones in the real parks, but now it's turned into Pleasure Island!

It's 25th Anniversary is this year.

Its finally revealed, the new land is either Epcot or Mickey's Toontown Fair.

Epcot Guest Room, that guy is the new NPC.

I wouldn't say Epcot because that's a theme park.

All of Epcot gets only one guest room? Shouldn't there be one for each country in the World Showcase, as well as several for the Future World attractions?

What if instead of Space Mountain guest room, a Tiki Tiki Tiki guest room, and all the others, we only had one "Magic Kingdom" guest room? That wouldn't make much sense, and neither does having only one guest room for all of Epcot.

I am going to once again bring back my topic about this... Disneyland is referred to as Magic Kingdom a lot, "Walt Disney's Magic Kingdom" as said on the DLRR.

Also Yavn did mention that the new Land would be the smallest yet, and Towntown is the smallest Land in Disneyland.

At least this land, however small it may be, will come with a new NPC. That right there makes it better than Tomorrowland already. It will probably have a minigame which pays better than the one-credit-per-trophy driving game, too. Man, does Tomorrowland stink, or what?

New land, possible game, possible shop, NPC, guest rooms, and surprises...

Ok...this may sound a little crazy but, I may think I know what it is. Yavn said that the new land will be small, and the cafe chairs immediately made me think of this restaurant we got a hotdog at in the Magic Kingdom. I think it is Liberty Square. The restaurant I ate at was in Liberty Square I think and the tables and chairs looked just like that. I may be thinking of two different places, but I think it is the same place. Liberty Square is one land that would fit perfectly, since it is small and should have had a place when VMK opened with everything else. Just my crazy thought.

Yeah but Casey's is on Main Street so it can't be the place in VMK for the new land. Those chairs are the problem because they only fit in café type restuarants none of which Toontown has. Liberty Square has only a few things in it: In WDW it has The Hall of Presidents, Liberty Square Riverboat, and The Haunted Mansion. In Disneyland New Orleans Square has The Haunted Mansion and Pirates of the Caribbean. They both are the perfect place, along with Main Street, to have those café chairs.

They don't give us a definite time of arrival because if they run into problems, players will freak out demanding to see the new land. They just throw it at us, like they did the previous lands, so players don't have deadlines and expectations.

Now hold on a sec (I hear a collective sigh over the internet), let me explain - before I do, remember in VMK, everything is not always what is seems (for instance, just because the map looks small does not mean the Land is small).

A new page perhaps? After all the map now isn't small....

that's why im thinking the ticketing system is somehow going to take us to rooms not on the map. That makes the land seem small, but really, it's not.

Well i scanned through the last few posts.. and when thinking it could be critter country with the gator, the "multiple hints" part made me think of when yavn said, "But before the Welcome Wagon gets here..." Well it could have just been a choice of words, but when i heard the word "Wagon" i thought of the countryside/old fashioned.

i have figured out 7 hints (at least, i think so):

Hint #1: "will be our smallest Land yet."

this most likely means it is some land in Magic Kingdom such as Liberty Square.

Hint #2: "everything is not always what it seems (for instance, just because the map looks small does not mean the Land is small)."

This means there is most likely more to the land (hidden rooms such as pirate treasure room) that is not on the map, making us believe it could be a big land, a small land with many details, or a mix of a few lands.

Hint #3: "In fact, our new Ticketing System was in part designed for a specific location that won't even be on the new land map."

This statement supports my guess for what Hint #2 probably means.

Hint #4: ";-) We create locations exclusively for the purpose of enhancing the existing game-as I've said before, we don't want to add rooms just for the sake of adding rooms."

This most likely means they spent a lot of time putting a lot of things and details into this land, or multiple lands, to improve the game.

Hint #5: "(Even the new Land's NPC does something totally new - just say the magic "code" word and you might see some magic...)

Somehow this has to do with the gator, which is blue and dressed up like a marching person or a soldier. However, the gator may just have to do with a new column coming out in the future, since he's apparantly in yavn's column, and not just because it's a picture.

Hint #6: yavn constantly uses the word "land" as "Land," with a capitol "L." This could be used to name the land until the official name is released, or this could be a hint letting us know the new land somehow uses the word "Land."

Hint #7: The new in-park quest is planned to be at both parks, meaning it most likely has to do with the new land since this is all going on around the same time. That means the new land (or lands) must be at both Disneyland and Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom.

well, that's about all i could figure out.

It will be sold - No price has been set yet
It will be out sometime next year
There is only 1 version of the spell

As soon as the details for relase date and price are set I will let everyone know.

Hope that helps,

So now I'm thinking it could be critter country.. I personally dont know anything about critter counrty at the real disney parks, so I just looked up Critter Country on the internet, and I think I connected with something yavn said in the newsletter... besides the gator and the play on words, and that critter country is very small.. he did say the Ticketing System had to do something with the new land, well when reading about critter country at Disneyland i found this on a random tour guide site:
"You can get a ticket to the attractions and entertainment areas which span through three themes at Critter Country – Davy Crockett Explorer Canoes where you can paddle your own canoe on a guided tour of the great rivers of America. With a ticket Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh takes you on a fancy tour of the 100-acre woods with Winnie the Pooh and friends, when you are at Critter Country."
"When you need to grab a bite at Critter Country with a ticket, we have Hungry Bear Restaurant..."
Notice that critter country involves tickets? Hmm..

But the Magic Kingdom is the main park.

I hope at some point VMK gets the bears in. After all they still have them in Florida (along with a superior pooh ride)

You know it's ironic the new Tomorrowland at DLR was a big disappointment thanks to penny pinching. VMK Tomorrowland was great until we finished the quests 2 days later. Also a bit of a disappointment.
They should have included a Stitches Great Escape game, it could have been modeled after Pacman. Of course camara would be let down with the lack of burp smell!

p.s. I am really hoping for a new credit giving game in whatever the new land is. Preferably single player so I don't need a team or to wait for 10 people.

I just remembered what that alligator reminds me of. They had one that looked similar connected to the Port Orleans French Quarter Resort. I don't remember exactly how it was used (merchandise maybe) since I stayed at Riverside, and my memory is awful anyway.

p.s. I am really hoping for a new credit giving game in whatever the new land is. Preferably single player so I don't need a team or to wait for 10 people.

I just remebered what that alligator reminds me off. They had one that looked similar connected to the Port Orleans French Quarter Resort. I don't remember exactly how it was used (merchandise maybe) since I stayed at Riverside, and my memory is awful anyway.

lol. The burp smell is the highlight of the ride, the rest was bad. Oh yes, but you can forget the bar on your shoulders hurting you if it doesn't lock right!

Well, I'm sure VMK would do something fun with it. They said they will not make rooms (usually) just for the fun of it. Does anyone know the name of that restaurant? It was like baseball themed, and it sold hot dogs? Oh I remember now, it was by the castle. No, that was somewhere else. Ok now I am confusing myself.

Casey's Corner, on the Corner of Main street at WDW.

why woulld they make a resort a whole land?

They could make New orleans Square.

New Orleans Square is being built in WDW, it was in the pass holder newsletter

BaldEagleBob

I think, since Yavn said that the new land is "small", that you will need the new GREEN SPACE SUIT MAGIC to get to it. Sort of like the way you get to the inner-space shop now with the blue suit magic. It would also have a magic word to activate it, like all magic pins do. Makes sense, right?

I saw a staff "QA" (that's a game tester) a couple of weeks ago with this magic wandering around in castle forecourt. I started to ask questions about it, and he said "oops", and disappeared real quickly. But not before I grabbed a screenshot of it. I am on a different computer now, but I'll post it this evening.

That's my two cents.

I wondered about the rush myself. What are the usual release days? Fridays (for pins, mostly) and Tuesday. Of course one thing about VMK, you don't know anything for sure until it happens.

If it is New Orleans Square, do you think they will move some existing rooms around? And if they do maybe even add new rooms to old lands? I LOVE NOS, it's my very favorite land. But I just can't imagine it's purpose in VMK as it is now.

Hmm....what's a VMK Pass?
Anyway, this new 'Land' seems pretty exciting. The new enhancements seem a little worse. If we have to pay for tickets to just see the new land, that'd be a bad idea. I mean, we have to pay to go to a Land now? >_< '
The monorail seems fun. I'd like to hear new sounds and a new music mixer!
The New Castle Fireworks game seems pretty interesting and bit more fun..
The NPC will say a magic word and will do magic? Hmm..I smell a new magic pin coming out..i guess as a key to the new land >_< '
OK..if there's an NPC, there's a store. If there's a store..there's items.
There were cafe chairs. Did anybody think that this store might just be a little cafe filled with food for our VMK Characters? I think the cafe idea is great.

i have figured out 7 hints (at least, i think so):

I got a Big Thing that This new land will be "The Land"

and will require transport on the monorail to get to it
and we will have to Switch at a "Ticketing and Transport Center"
and the Monorail will stop at a 2-Way Monorail Station
Hop on the EPCOT and it will take you to "The Land"
Witch Guessing will sometime sell our "EPCOT Turnstile"
Sounding like a Hint??

I just realized something now let me just say i would be ecstatic for New Orleans Square anyways....

Some people may or may not know about the Club 33 ( i believe this is whats its called). Its located below the Pirates of the Caribbean in Disneyland, and its pretty much top secret (not really cause I know about it) BUT this might explain the hidden rooms, because you have to be a member to enter. So in VMK you need a ticket to enter....follow my drift?

Also there is Cafe Orleans in Disneyland possibly explaining the cafe chairs (although i have never been there, or disneyland I am assuming the connection)

Also, possibly the Disney Gallery, displaying stages of VMK history.

Game, not sure which though.

Other possibilities, but I am definately leaning towards my favorite New Orleans Square (you know it was Walt's favorite too, so don't be surprised even if some items already appear in VMK)

Good point why cant the original characters be NPC's.Another thing is if they add Epcot, MGM, etc. they would need to change the name of VMK to VDP (Virtual Disney Parks) changing the life of people who play VMK.

P.S. There are alligators in Florida too. (not to mention crocodiles)
P.S.S. It could be a Florida park because WDW was built on swamps where gators were.

On the moderate resort part, you can go to Port Orleans - French Quarter. Bring up the virtual tour, then click to the pool. If you check out the magnifying glasses, there are MANY of these gators around the pool. I think this new land is in fact a hotel land!
Hotel Land? What kind of land would that be?? I would really be disappointed if it was a hotel land.

Or wait.... do you mean like New Orleans Square?

If that turns out to be true, I'd be VERY disappointed. What would be the point of adding a Hotel as a new LAND in the game? There's nothing it could really offer that isn't already provided by guest rooms...

"Yay! We can now go hang out at a hotel! What fun!" C'mon. There's plenty of great ideas at various Disney Parks that are easily useable.
