Disney Cant afford to produce that show.
Do you realize how expensive the musical rights would be?

To pay the the salaries, of JUST the 6 main characters would cost way more, than it would make.

The cast of dancers, Choreographers, composers, costumes etc, would make it WAY to expensive.
Movies are the way to go, You can make a lot more on Movie, with DVD sales.

Even though HSM is very profitable,( as a Movie franshise) Disney Wouldnt sink all of that money into a weekly series, it doesnt make good sence on paper.

Besides, the Stars all have other things that they are doing.

They wrote a 13 episode season, but NO ( zero) shows were ever filmed

Well if you are talking about a TV series then i never heard that but, they are starting a High School Mudical 2 after going to they concert (Very Good) They annouced they is going to be a second movie

I hate high school musical for a few reasons , its nothing to get obsessed about , i dont like the show at DCA , its annoying. Ive seen better movies in the $5 movie area in wal-mart than high school musical. If this happens.. i wont watch it. LOL

The stars would be way too busy with other shows, movies, music videos, ect.

They wouldn't make a show with it, that would be a pretty stupid idea for them.

If they were to make a series, hey, they don't need music...but that's why HSM is popular. With out the tunes HSM would be nothing. That's what made it the hottest tween musical.
Although Disney has plenty of cash to make an HSM series with the hit jams.
Yes, they have other productions and agents to pay (which go to the performers) They have theme parks, other movies that came out, even cosmetics and Buena Vista Records and Hollywood Records.
In the 50's or 80's it might have been different. But Disney's improved a lot over the years.
The stars on the other hand got a life too.

Zac Efron: Eh..not doing much. Except for Hairspray. But other than that...no album, tv pilot, contests, etc..

Corbin Bleu: His tour, tv show, and Radio Disney promos. And..possibly a Jump In! sequel.

Lucas Grabeel: Nothing much. Possibly an album...plus rumor is if there is an HSM 3 he won't be in it. He's trying to get away from bubblegum Disney retartedness. Good for him.

Monique Coleman: She's busy with her dancing, she does not sing so no album.
Rumor: No word on album, but possibly a dance workout party DVD.

Vanessa Hudgens: Her tour is over. She has rumor (yes I know lots of rumors eh?) family problems, she also will have a 2nd album in late 2007 or early/middle 2008.
Plus she will be a regular on SL Season 3 thanks to Miss Ashley Tisdale aka Princess Pink Twinkle twinkletoes.

The MOST popular of the crew. She has a tour going on and is busy being an "artist" while having sleep overs with Miley Cyrus taking weird PG 13 pictures on her sidekick 3 and posting them on the internet. Rumor Ashley's "touch me here, touch me there," album almost got her kicked her out of SL, but since SL is popular and making $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$,$$$$$$$$$$,$$$$$$$ because of Miss Tisdale of course Disney isn't that dumb. They gave her a regular role on the hit animated show Kim Possible season 4. As a celebrity villian. Notice she's a villian. Ever since her album Headstrong came out her good girl image is GONE.

Many people complain Disney is making too many "artists". Well, that started wayyyy back with TMMC (The Mickey Mouse Club) and Disney not making bubble gum pop stars is like saying "Why does American Idol have a singing contest and the most popular people including the winner get a record deal and become super stars?!?" Or "Why is it new models are discovered by America's Next Top Model??" Disney is nothing but a popular pop star/tv star/movie star contest now.
Before it was a production company that has made the world a better place. Now? Well, I don't need to explain that now....

I am not afraid to admit it..I personally like HSM. I am not obsessed with it like some. I mean it's obviously not the greatest movie in the world but..pretty good :) Making a second movie will probably destroy the first one just like a lot of sequels from Disney films. Yes , there have been some good sequels, but most are not. Take my favorite movie, The Little Mermaid. The second movie was pretty ****py and made me upset LOL. Anyway, making a series and a second movie would surely ruin HSM, seeing as most people are losing interest in it and have become annoyed with it.

I don't know if I'd watch it. It would depend on the storyline and all that stuff.
I like the movie, I know the songs, but I'm not obsessed with it. It's just a movie where I'll watch it once, and if it's on TV, maybe I'll watch it again.

A TV show, I don't know. I don't have time to watch TV and we tape enough shows as is.

Just stick to the movies, they're fine. @_@

And anyways, most sequels stink. The first one is almost always the best. Spiderman could be an exception, and maybe a few other movies, but most Disney movies..the first one is all they need.
