View Full Version : Is it just me or are all CL's rich?
gregoryalec 12-18-2006, 11:11 PM Every single CL i have seen in my VMK life and my VMKF life are rich. Majority of them have Stitch hats or inferno. Why, you may ask? Dunno. I know a lot of you are going to say " Well, to be a CL you have to belong to vmk for a long time, which lets them buy stuff that was sold a long time ago"
NOT TRUE!!!!!! In order to buy things you need to be goo at games. People who have belonged to vmk since Day 1 could still stink at all the games.
So here is the point:
WHY ARE ALL CL'S RICH???!!!???!!!!???!!!???!!!???!!!???!!!???!!!??? !!!???!!!???!!!
NOTE: CL's please be honest
gigarichard 12-18-2006, 11:16 PM It's because they have been playing for a while and have had a longer time collecting than others.
Qui-gon 12-18-2006, 11:17 PM Some of the CL_s have signed up for VMK when it first opened, giving them a chance to buy all the stuff that was out in beta. Once acquired, they just trade for Stitch Hat/Inferno/other items. Or they live close to the parks. Let it be known though that it's not about if they're rich or not, it's about how they act. And no, not every CL_ is "rich" as you say. But it's not about that. I myself am not a CL_ and have been around since beta.

Well, from a CL_'s point of view, the adjective "rich" comes from experience. I've been playing almost since the dawn of VMK. You can say I'm an experienced player. Heck, forgive me if I sound conceited, but even I can say I'm an experienced player. Through my days of playing, I've learned what games provide you with the most credits, the value of all the VMK items, and how to become a wise trader. I didn't just sign onto VMK one day and just automatically learn all those things. That stuff took loads of time to learn. "Rich" just comes with experience. Another added benefit is that those "rich" players have the ability to visit the Disney parks. Or, those "rich" players just know how to make wise trades.
Most of the time, those "rich" players have been around for a very long time. That's because they're experienced with the game. They weren't just given those items. They had to work hard for them, and I can guarantee that once you gain plenty of experience, and you work hard enough, you can get those "rich player" items too. It all comes with time.
~Oranges
Qui-gon 12-18-2006, 11:20 PM Yes, we all learned to play at one time and were all Guests. You learn to trade, to play, to become experienced. You learn from experience. It's all about what you do with what you have. Think ahead, think about what will be rare. And once it is, trade it for something you don't have. Or trade it for something you have and trade that. You see, you learn from time.

PinkTinkPixie 12-18-2006, 11:23 PM I know a lot of you are going to say " Well, to be a CL you have to belong to vmk for a long time, which lets them buy stuff that was sold a long time ago"
That *is* why they're "rich". And like gigarichard said, they've also had more experience at collecting...
In order to buy things you need to be goo at games.
That's not all true. You can earn credits and items other ways than just playing games and winning. Plus, they also have more experience at games, because they've been playing for a while.
CL's don't have any "powers" that can make them richer, all there is to it is experience. Other players who are not CL's could just as well have as many rare items, or as many credits.

SpinMarty 12-18-2006, 11:28 PM It's just you.

Well not to brag, but I have only been playing for a year and a half and I am already amazing at fireworks high score is: 278,054
and I would consider myself rich but not like the CL's - cough - .
Then another thing I find it unfair that in order to get stuff you must go to park are be rich and trade for that stuff. Some people - cough -- cannot afford to go to Disney.
Another question: Don't you think it is unfair that you must be playing vmk for a certain amount of time in order to become a CL ?? Do you know how long?
Oranges 12-18-2006, 11:33 PM Well not to brag, but I have only been playing for a year and a half and I am already amazing at fireworks high score is: 278,054
That's just about how long VMK has been around - about a year and half.

As I said before, I'm very experienced with the game. I've been around for a very long time. About the Disney parks, VMK is just one big interactive ad for well, Disney. For those of you who can't visit the Disney parks, VMK implemented the "Trade" system.
Another question: Don't you think it is unfair that you must be playing vmk for a certain amount of time in order to become a CL ?? Do you know how long?
No, I think it's 100% fair. You need to be experienced with the game before you granted CL_ privileges. After all, if a person asks you a question (assuming you're a CL_) about the game and you don't know the answer, that wouldn't make you a very suitable CL_, would it?

soccerkidtlk 12-18-2006, 11:59 PM Well i became a CL in October soo all the stuff i had till then i still have now as a CL... most CL's get it from before they were a CL.. there are a lot of players that have lots of things its not just CL's... and not all CL's are rich.
BooBear05 12-18-2006, 11:59 PM It's just you.
Haha!
OKay, from a CL's standpoint...First off, I live WAY UP NORTH in Wisconsin!!! No access to the park quest items. Lucky for me, I met some amazing friends who DO live near the parks, and were very generous with gifting quest items to poor me! I was NOT a CL at this time, I was a "regular" player with "regular" friends.
I'm not very good at the games, so...I am relatively poor, in terms of credits. You really would be shocked to know how few credits I actually have. I do have inferno, it was won in a host generator spin game. Everything else I have I earned. I played non-stop pirates, when ice was an added bonus. I played mansion until I crashed. I run daily NPC credits. All of the same things any other player has to do to gain credits. No special magic. Just work at earning credits. I don't have a Stitch hat, nor do I want one. I don't have green flips, lots of beta or a Sparrow costume...and I really don't care one way or the other if I ever do have those things.
:)
Oranges 12-19-2006, 12:03 AM Well ppl said it was here for 3 years
Gosh, no. Those people aren't correct. VMK is only a little over a year old. May 2005 was its beta-release.

Zebraa 12-19-2006, 12:14 AM Because they are cruel people who manipulate players out of their stuff!
Kidding. The fact that they've been playing a long time doesn't have to do anything with the fact that they're "rich". I've been playing since VMK started I'm not so rich. It's that they know about VMK, and they know the demand of items and how it flucuates. Most CL's are smart traders.
AstroCool_Dude 12-19-2006, 12:27 AM I have a few CL friends and all they have is a sorcerer hat so not ALL CL's are "rich"

AwesomeTom 12-19-2006, 12:53 AM Here is another CL_'s point of you coming your way:
Okay, I just became a community leader in September. I personally don't consider anyone "rich", I consider them "experienced" but back on topic. I barely have anything, including credits. CL_'s are regular players, just like you, and all of vmk. Heck, even the vmk staff are players, well, they get payed :xmastongue:
You see, you probably will meet tons, and I mean, TONS, of players who aren't leaders and are even more "rick"/"experienced". The CL_ is just a title we are given because we are "official" vmk helpers. This is a common thing that comes up, but personally, why do we get picked on (LOL)?
It's your opinion, but trust me, there are TONS of leaders out there who aren't very rich, they are just happy players :)
Merry Christmas :xmastree: and a Happy New Year! :new_year:

Tom is very, very right. You'll meet plenty of other leaders who aren't "rich", as you describe. The gist of it is: "rich" comes with experience, and nothing more.

I do have inferno but none of the other biggies...stitch, sparrow, green flips, pants etc...

Zebraa 12-19-2006, 01:03 AM and I have like 7 grand in credits.... is that rich?
Yours truly has 0 :(
mrmyth 12-19-2006, 01:14 AM By the way - It's all pretend stuff - I'm rich in friends on VMK
compadredude 12-19-2006, 01:23 AM uh i have been playing since last august and like what orange said it all comes with experiecne if u really want to be rich pay attention to these forums and play potc level 2 bc sometimes u get credits in the chest
Maribeth 12-19-2006, 01:26 AM Well, you are a regular player (so are CLs but just trying to make a point) does that mean all regular players are poor? By your logic they are and by mine they aren't.
Community Leaders are chosen based on the amount of time spent in the kingdom, their attitude, and their knowledge. Not by how many credits or items they own.
Also, the richest players on VMK (credit-wise) can be positively awful at all the games. There's this magical thing called - Yeti Vision!!!
Who cares if CL_'s ... are "ricer" than you! It's a virtual game! Get over it!
I'm not rice at all... maybe all ya'll CLs are. This must be new. When I was a CL I surely didn't eat myself.. so I must not be rice.
JpopChick<3 12-19-2006, 01:31 AM This is an extremely common stereotype.

Yea i agree but i think the 'richness' is getting to their heads
They think they're so much better than everyone else
And they dont give you much help The only CL_ that has ever helped me and had a good additude about it was CL_MsBehave.
RobertSDCA 12-19-2006, 01:31 AM From a CL point of view, I don't consider myself rich. To that point, many of the rare items, such as furniture and magic pins, I give away in my Quests. I do have a 1 star inferno, but I got that before I was given the CL title - when I was awarded best guest room. I don't have stitch or green flips. I do visit Disney theme parks which gives me the opportunity to acquire some items that many may not have the opportunity to get. I try to trade wisely, but in many cases give the other person the "better deal." I'm good at fireworks and bad at most other games. I use fireworks, the daily NPC visits and Music Mix to collect the credits I need to buy what I want. I'm very selective in the pins and furniture I purchase - then I trade them at strategic times (i.e. I'll trade winter furniture in the summer when it's not readily available.) I play all the VMK staff quests and do my best to play as many of the host games as possible. For me, it's all in the experience. I've been playing since day 1 and I have my typical routine each day to collect credits and every Friday I buy the pins and furniture I want. Also, because I’ve been playing since day 1, I’ve had the opportunity to trade certain magic pins that are no longer tradable; this may be considered as rich, but really it was just luck being able to do that when it was still an option. Now, it's time for me to go stock up on red candy canes. Have a great holiday!! CL_Robert
gregoryalec 12-19-2006, 01:37 AM We've played a long time back when the items like inferno, green flips and such weren't so rare.
and I have like 7 grand in credits.... is that rich?
Well I kinda have 102,508 credits
but like yo, I am tight with my trades.
But before I trade somethign I must have atleast 2 extra of that thing
PolarFish 12-19-2006, 10:53 AM This thread is silly. Not all CL's are 'rich', what is 'rich' anyway?

when you said some day 1 peeopple stink at games heres a good example... ME! trust me i really do stink at games.
oldgrumpy 12-19-2006, 03:31 PM Pretty simple really.
It's not how long you've played the game, but how much.
CL's typically spend a lot of time with the game.
That gives them a lot of options for getting stuff.
About Hula is hating you....here's a tip they don't want to waste the host game time so that other players can get in and play
jamiewe 12-19-2006, 04:56 PM Well Host Hula hates me! I said aww when somebody had to go back and she said" No aww! Thats the rules!" And when I was joking saying "Hula you so funny I was talking to you and then before i can see you are gone, like magic"

Why does she hate me????
Hula is very nice and the hosts do not hate you, Hula once said that to me the same thing it does not mean you need to hate someone she was proberly in a bad mood every other time i see her she is happy. what if your best friend said just play the game! would you hate he/she or not?
Twisty 12-19-2006, 10:03 PM I'm not a CL and I'm rich.. Rich in friends, that is.
Really, this thing you call "rich", it's not about having a lot of virtual stuff, it's about making friends and having fun. You can be rich in most things but, I don't think this game is about being rich. More like having friends and having fun..
Ty, Twisty.

either it is a cowincidence that everytime she talks to me she is in bad mood, or she HATES me!
KrazyBella 01-03-2007, 10:16 PM Well here is my response..
I have been a CL_ since November now, and I don't feel any different. What you consider "rich" is what.. a magic pin? or a costume? Honestly let's think about this. How do you know that maybe that "special thing" you see on their outer appearance, is the only thing they have? CL_'s have been playing VMK a lot, a reason they become a CL, which means more playing time on VMK. I know that since I have become a CL, i haven't gotten anything that I didn't already have, except maybe a few more credits because I enjoy playing the pirates mini game, so that brings them in. If you are dedicated to the game, then you probably do have a majority of things. ALthough, who is to say they came After the CL_ badge? Maybe this person had everything BEfore they became a CL_... pure coincidence. So maybe they have inferno? I know I have inferno, and I also know that I have had it a MUCH longer time before I became a CL_, as it was given to me as a gift from another VMK player who was leaving VMK. So.. I don't think you can say all CL's are "rich". They are like any other player, who enjoys playing, collecting, earning, or trading.. and that's what I think.

I am an INCREDIBLY(When I say incredibly, I mean infinity) EXPERIENCED player. I have been on since the very first day. Maybe about 100 or less person to join VMK. I know a lot, been around longer than just about everyone.
BUT. I' m not a leader. Nor am I even that rich. Sure I actually have a lot of nice items but I am not CL nor do I EVER EVER EVER want to be. CL's (Or at least MOST of the ones I know) Don't talk right. And they often ignore you or treat you differently cause your are simply not good enough for them :)
When I said they don't talk right, They Talk Wrong. This Is Talking Wrong. The English Language Capitalizes The First Letter In A Sentence And Ends With A Period. They talk like that cause they want to seem "right" and "experienced"
Sorry if this is offensive, but sometimes, I can get quite angry at CL's and often hold that grudge against everyone. The Way I am.
But, you MUST know. That honestly, at least HALF of all CL's REALLY act(and talk) Like that. I have proof by my friend <name removed>, who, when she became a leader, treated me like a stupid guest, And Talked Like This With A Smile At The End Of The Senteence :)
Ugh. Sorry all CL's out there who actually DON'T do that. But you know this, we all know this.
timmyastro 01-03-2007, 11:08 PM I go to disneyland , i have quest= I EARNED WHAT I HAVE.

Not to be flaming, but HOST_Hula is simply NOT nice. Once, I was in her room, and ya know what she said to me? I said

"Good for you." Made a thumbs up emote. O_O
BlueJalepeno 01-04-2007, 01:06 AM Not to be flaming, but HOST_Hula is simply NOT nice. Once, I was in her room, and ya know what she said to me? I said

1. Maybe she was talking to someone else.
2. Maybe she was trying to be funny.
Dr.Kumquatt 01-04-2007, 04:37 AM CL_'s rich? For Sure :). LittleDragonErin for example (not a CL_) being a savy trader helped her work from the ground up. It just takes a lot of common sense to get the stuff you want through trading. Buy extra monthly furniture that you will never use if you are a pins person, or just buy extras. Trade that for the stuff you want, or supply ride builders with stuff during competitions, or look for people who are trading rare things for buyables because of new rooms they are making. A kind of pre requisit (sp?) to this of course is an ability to win the VMK games, and that only comes through practice, a lot of it.
Doc :snow_cool:
Anoukia 01-04-2007, 04:49 AM I think some people use ebay because its impossible to get all that stuff. that is just my feeling and many others agree. one person comes to mind that uses ebay which is not allowed on the values to buy stuff. its really ridiculous
BlueJalepeno 01-04-2007, 01:37 PM I don't really care whose rich.
And if CLs are "rich" then they probably earned it.
Like most of us earned our stuff.
Penguinz 01-05-2007, 01:21 AM Rich in Knowledge: Yes
Rich in Cash: Not always.
One of my CL friends is not what-so-ever rich in credits. He's fine with that. I have more money than him, I don't brag, he thinks it's funny that he doesn't have any money. That's because he is always making fantastic rooms, so no, not all CL's are 'rich'.
froghopper 01-05-2007, 12:10 PM Ok, your logic of thinking is all wrong. I am a CL and I don't have inferno, a stitch hat, hardly any quest, green bag pants, green flips, or anything like that. I have been playing a while, but I don't just magically become rich because I'm a CL. If you mean "rich in friends", thenn yes, I definitely am.
Thenishall 01-05-2007, 02:44 PM It seems to be that way, yes, for some odd reason all CL's seem to be 'rich'
xwing23 01-05-2007, 02:55 PM We are here to help which we all enjoy doing and to think we get special things or free credits is totally false. We do not know when things will be released and earn our credits like everyone else including items. We can help with host games which is a nice plus but we are just like you in how we get items. If you are broke its because you spend it too fast. I save my credits for special things that come out and earn them by playing games and daily npc credits.
CiscoRau 01-05-2007, 03:06 PM Another CL opinion coming your way...
I was actually asked the other week in game why I wasn't more "famous". I'm the type who tries to help out but doesn't want to bring too much attention. I was then told "good luck on being poor".
I don't have anything really rare. No Inferno. No green flips. No Stitch hat. The best I have is a Purple Treasure Chest (that I actually got during Pirate's month last year from a staff quest!). I like to think I'm a good CL, but that is all subjective. There are some good ones out there - even some that don't have the official CL title.
etain 01-13-2007, 09:30 PM Just reading through some of the posts here....the reason why it may seem like CLs are all rich is because:
a) in order to get to that position they had to have a lot of experience with vmk and this experience allowed them to get a lot of items through playing games, trading, etc.
b) some have been around since beta. That automatically makes you "rich"
c) they're in the spot light so it SEEMS as if they are the ones who have a lot. There are a lot of people who are not CLs who have as much if not more than some.

A. True
B. Not True
C. True
B is not true because I was in beta and I'm not "rich". The beta items weren't rare back then so we traded them and/or didn't buy them.
JeannieV 01-13-2007, 09:47 PM I know a VERY poor CL...ME!!!
CL_JeannieV is poor. I am experienced with the game, but I spend more time chatting with players than playing games. Thats just what I like to do.
No inferno
No stitch
I am rich with friends though!
Brer_Nick 01-13-2007, 09:48 PM It's because they have been playing for a while and have had a longer time collecting than others.
That's not nessecarly true. I've been play since beta and I only got 418 credits. I think the reason think expierienced players are rich is because of thier items. To tell the truth I don't have that much rare at all.
Oh and i'm not a CL. They keep telling me I need more expierience. Well at least that's what they said the last time they were considering CL requests
CapnOlaf 01-13-2007, 09:48 PM Aww JeannieV,
There's no better wealth than friendship.
JeannieV 01-13-2007, 10:07 PM Aww JeannieV,
There's no better wealth than friendship.
No, there is not. That is why my "being poor" is not a complaint and I do not envy those who can afford everything.
I have also been blessed by Angels from these very forums and my friends from the theme parks. I enjoy a good conversation better than a short lived inferno anyday.
So NO...not all CL's have tons of stuff.
Cruben 01-15-2007, 04:16 AM I have seen lots of CL_ who would be rated as a middle-class player.

Ok I should have qualified that by saying that those who hung on to their beta items are rich. I'm sure you would agree with me there? :)

That is so nice! I wish every CL was like you.
I have seen lots of CL's that are not rich, but I have seen lots that are. But what really matters is if they help out players or not.
Haveamagicalday 01-25-2007, 11:19 PM Every single CL i have seen in my VMK life and my VMKF life are rich.
Ok, not all leaders are "rich." But the ones who are "rich" have probably been on vmk for a long time. They have experience on vmk they have learned tradnig strategies. I know a few leaders who dont even have sparrow suit. CL_'s have experience playing vmk thats why they are "rich." What about regular ppl who have green baggy pants, inferno, stitch, and sparrow and have been on the same time, or longer, on vmk and they have more stuff than a CL_ being a CL_ does not mean to be rich but they have been on vmk for a while and help ppl that's why they are CL's
lemonysnicket3 01-26-2007, 01:15 AM here's my point of veiw.
if you play VMK for a long time and hang with friends and don't have any rare, or are saving credits, are you gonna be CL..NO..EVERY Cl i see has EVERYTHING! they can do inferno parties, Stitch hats, and other things. i'm gonna apply TheManWithAPlanYo! for a CL and see what i get.
Haveamagicalday 01-26-2007, 09:51 PM here's my point of veiw.

CL_'s are not all rich some are yes but they have been on vmk for awhile and know trading strategies but there are some leaders that are not traders. Being a leader is not about how good you are at trading. So if you want to be a CL_ you better not be applying if your rich bc that wont get you in sorry :-(
Jamarocker 01-26-2007, 10:15 PM When you see CL's having loads of rare items do you think because they have rare items they became a CL? Nope, they had to work for all of those rare things just like you do. If they have inferno, stitch, sparrow suit, beta, etc. they either won a staff game way back when, went to DL, tried forever on the that pirate game, were here since beta, or traded for all of those things. Most CL's have been around since beta or little after, so they have rare items to trade. It's not that they were made rich on purpose...It's that they know all the tips and strategies to get the items they want.
