View Full Version : Pirates CTF Scoring
Schmoofy 12-18-2006, 02:33 AM I'm not sure if anyone has figured this out yet, but I think I have the equation down for credit pay out in pirates Capture the flag.
It's..
Points In Game
divided by
Number of people on team
added to
100
The points in game is seen on the bottom of the screen, second number on the right, depending on what team you are on-

The first number shows the amount of gold collected, or shots put into the enemy. The next number shows the total gold, from the flag and shots. You take that number, and divide it by the number of people that are on your team. If the number is 400, and there are 4 people on your team, it comes out to 100. Now, if you win the game, you add 100 to the total. So going back to the 100 total, you would get 200 credits.
FantasyBlueDude and I have been trying this all night, and it's worked out nearly every time.
Can anyone confirm this?
rapby60 12-18-2006, 02:35 AM i never thought of it i only looked at it
Thenishall 12-18-2006, 02:38 AM The way I look at all this is that the higher digit number you have, the better ;) Lol.

That's basically how i think of it too LOL. Schmoofy, I have a question. The equation is the same for 2 or 3 round games right?

Yes it is. The longer the game goes on, the more credits you get. To get the most credits, win first round, hold flag second round and lose, then win last round. Also take down as many opposing ships as possible. I think the top score you can obtain is somewhere around 375, if your opponents' ships are all wicked wench and you take them all down, except for one ship with only one health left. This is amusing math :D
rapby60 12-18-2006, 03:03 AM so the longer the better?
i always found CTF scoring confusing..

Interesting, what's funny about this is that me and a few of my friends did this, except there was a no shooting rule.

I think I can confirm this. I have been playing POTC CTF a lot lately and testing this theory, and it is found to be correct every single time :)

The whole point is to take turns helping each team get maximum credits. Shooting is only a problem if it ends the game prematurely, which can happen too easily. Never hurts to shoot at rocks and islands, though. ;)
futuremartymcfly 12-20-2006, 12:41 AM Yep, this is perfectly true, although it is frustrating. You could be the only one to fire down ships, yet you end up sharing your loot with your entire team.
