Can they take away the credits from the quest machine?

Probably not

I would take the credits out of the machine just to make sure the gifts get sent =]

I don't think so, but then again it wasn't around last time.

Last year, they actually put people in the negative credits, just so everyone they wanted to give a gift got it.

Good question, but I doubt they would. Better take it out just to be safe.
