What is the secret to hosting an awesome guest room?

I have made two game rooms and did not have good luck with it.

I spend alot of time saving up to decorate it to reflect the season for myself and others to admire and enjoy.

The one I have now is called Small World Christmas: it consists of a random drawing prize where I write the toons title down and draw one name and also draw a prize that I previously wrote down. I would have the drawing about every 5 minutes. All of that worked perfectly.

Problem is;

Visitors wanted a gift from my nicely christmas decoated room and not the prize that was drawn. (Prizes were 50 credit to 200 credits worth of items).

If the prize that was drawn was a 50 credit prize, they would scoff at it and not be thankful that they even won.

Note: Most of the complainers were the bay be, mummy and taken crowd.

If anyone has any tips for me I sure would appreciate it, because I would like to have a successful room and thought it would be a good way to make new friends in VMK Land.

It is a guest/game room I guess, if there is such a thing.

It's a guest room that gives out random awards. I think your room is fine. Just decorate it to the best of your ability. And make sure to be a wonderful room host. Then the rest isn't really in your hands. It's the staff's decision. I have seen wonderfull rooms, quests, and games. That are extremely wowing. And they don't get awards. So, I don't know. Just because your room doesn't get picked the first week, doesn't mean that your room stinks, and it's the end of the world. Just keep adding. If it's a guest room, keep adding and taking away so when people come back they won't get bored with the same thing.

Well, the bay be and taken peeps that cause trouble for you should just get the boot. I used to really hate to boot anyone but sometimes you have to. I used to think that if I boot then that's less poeple in the room and it will move down on the popular room list if it's starting to get kinda popular. But here's the thing.. You will actually lose more nice peeps from your rooms if you let peeps keep being annoying with the bay be and taken problems. Now, I first warn that I don't want any bay be or taken stuff in my rooms. If they stop and act regular and normal then they can stay. But if they keep on with that stuff then I just boot them. And also any peeps that are having some kind of argument or whatever. I just boot them too. I used to feel bad about booting but then I figured out that when you let annoying peeps stay in your room and they keep being annoying then they take away from the experience of your room for all the peeps that are showing respect and acting properly. And it's not fair to the peeps that aren't causing any problem to make them have to hear all the junk that a few bad peeps are saying. So anyway, I know that's kinda long but don't feel bad about booting anyone that's causing a problem in your room.

And also try to greet all the peeps that come in. It can get difficult if a lot of peeps come at once but it's nice to let peeps know that you are thankful that they picked your room to visit out of all the different rooms that they could have gone to. And since you have a random gift give away in your room make sure that peeps understand how it works and that they know you're being fair about it. A lot of peeps have gift give away things in their rooms but I've seen some that seemed totally not fair and like they were only giving gifts to their friends. So that makes a lot of peeps feel that it's kind of a scam and just a way to get peeps to come so they hope they get a gift. And if a lot of peeps come to your room then you have to explain a lot of times how the gift give away works so they can know that it's fair. You can make that easier if you have pics on the wall that explain it and have the room info say to look at the pics. Then you just have to tell new peeps entering the room to plz read room info for how the gift give away works. And for peeps that don't appreciate a prize.. Well, that's their problem. If they make a big complaint about it and start taking your time away from your other guests then just boot them. Just be sure that you made it clear what prize peeps get and then if they have a problem with it, then it's not your problem. And if you're kinda busy greeting people and stuff then it really really helps if you have some friends that can hang out in your room with you to help explain stuff about your room or your gift give away. I had a TON of help from so many of my friends in my rooms and I TOTALLY appreicate it.

So anyway, good luck on your rooms and just try really hard to make sure that peeps have a good experience in your rooms. Don't waste too much time on peeps that cause problems if it makes you not give attention to the peeps that are there supporting your room and enjoying it. Because those are the peeps that are appreciating what you did with your room so they're the ones you should be focused on as much as you can. And you can't give everyone as much attention as maybe you want to, but try to as much as you can :)

Thank you for the advice, I appreciate the time you took to enlighten me on some things. I guess the bottom line is to stick with it and keep trying, and at the same time to try and not get bored. It sure is difficult just hanging out in the room, thinking about the games and credits I could be earning..lol. But, I guess that is the trade off. Oh, I really don't like those people in VMK. They get on my nerve. If someone is on my friends list and they send me a message with either "bay be", "mummy", or "taken" I don't even respond. After I read that I go to my friends like and delete them. All of that happens in like a five second peiod.
