View Full Version : Charlotte's Web ~ The Movie
vmkstar99 12-15-2006, 01:56 AM Who wants to go see it? I loved the book. I just finished reading it last night.
At school, the book that my reading group is reading is Charlotte's Web, and scince thats a pretty hard book to read (I'm young, so don't just think "That's a really easy book, what is he talking about?!"), she promised that if my group finishes reading the book, she'll take the class to see the movie! Lots of people are already finished, so we'll probably get forms being sent home next week.
In case you never read the book, it's mostly about a pig named Wilbur, and at the beginning, Fern's (Fern is an 8-year-old girl) father had just got some newborn baby pigs, but scince one of them seems really weak, he decides to kill it. But Fern isn't so willing to let that happen. So she manages to save the pig from death, she names it Wilbur, blah blah blah, ok lets get to the main idea. When Wilbur finds out he is going to be killed to be Christmas dinner, he freaks out. But Charlotte (she's a spider that Wilbur meets in the book) tells Wilbur that she will save him...somehow.
OK, post away!
P.S.: Mods if someone else made a thread about this feel free to merge/delete this thread.
CubbyDoggie 12-15-2006, 02:00 AM I think that the movie looks great. I've read the book and I've seen the original movie. I loved them both.
I do like Dakota Fanning, and think that she is a great actress for a twelve year old. She plays Fern.
CapnOlaf 12-15-2006, 02:01 AM I might see it.

Yeah, she did a great job acting in Dreamer.
And she acted in War Of the Worlds, if I'm not mistaken? Eh, I won't get into the details of that movie, scince its kinda violent.
Sorry to backseat mod, but this is a place to talk about Charlotte's Web. Please don't talk about other movies, people.
CubbyDoggie 12-15-2006, 02:06 AM Yes, she did.
Fact: Dakota was picked for War of the Worlds because she screamed the best. ;)

Wow! Never knew that.
OK, back on topic now!
My favorite charecters are Avery, Templeton, and Wilbur.
CubbyDoggie 12-15-2006, 02:10 AM Wilbur is cool. I love the voice for him. It just sounds so cute, like Wilbur is supposed to be. :)

I wish it was a tiny biy more deep, though! That's how I've always thought of Wilbur's voice.
CubbyDoggie 12-15-2006, 02:15 AM I always thought of it as cute and squeaky.

At least his voice isn't deep and squeaky.
CubbyDoggie 12-15-2006, 02:17 AM Would that even be possible?
Bellezza 12-15-2006, 02:19 AM Some of the kids in the younger grades at my school, went and saw it yesterday I believe. There was very good outcome I guess. it was the 2nd graders amd they are doing a big project on Charolette's Web, it is so cute and funny what they are doing.

They probably saw the animated version. I wish the movie was already in theaters, though.
Is it true that there is a movie called Charlotte's Web 2 (animated)?
vmkstar99 12-17-2006, 03:40 PM "Bump!" said Charlotte. "Not lots of people are looking at this thread."
