Is it just me, or are there a lot of empty chests? It seems about half the chests I open are empty. The odds of an empty chest seem to increase dramatically if I save a few keys before opening chests.

Is this just bad luck, or is this more or less how it goes?

Save up as many keys as you can before you use them, I prefer to get 6 or 7 or more gold keys before I attempt to open any, as for empty chest's with the bronze keys I get empty almost every time no matter how many keys I use, and every now and then I get a pirate throne.

Bronze gives a lot of empties yes, then the prizes are in a row.
So... I play pirates for 5 hours, get 5k. Get 6 keys, open them all. And I usually get 2 thrones. :)

Check your credits before you open and if you get an empty check again. You will have 100 more credits. I will take empty all day long.

Just want to point out that in addition to getting 100 credits even when the chest is empty, that you still get the credits you earn in the game even when you get a key. Some people seem to think that since you do not get a message saying how many credits you earned, that you got the key instead. This is untrue. Check your credits before the game and after you get the key, and you will see that you still get your credits from the game.
Essentially, the keys are a minimum bonus of 100 credits above and beyond the normal rewards for the game.

I didn't know about the 100 credits either. That makes me feel a little better, but I still feel cheated--probably only because the message says I was. :P

Yes, I like empty better than a wall, at level 3 anyways. I think a wall or turrit piece is worth 5 credits if sold so to get 100 credits you would need 20 keys, if you only got a wall piece each time (big if), and sell them all. So I will take 1 key and an empty instead for 100 credits, or bigger credit prizes. I have enough walls to create a city :xmas11:

I don't play pirates that much but when I have a key it's always empty, and I don't think there's a pattern bc all you have to do is win level 1 for like level 3 prizes that wouldn't be fair. just saying

i have figured out the treasure chest equation. once someone gets an empty chest i am almost gaurnteing you will get some prize. so for example u see someone get a prize out of the silver chest for an example, the next person to open will proably most likey get no prize and then the person after that opens it up they will most likely get a prize. but remember it has to be the same chest. so to sum it up every other chest opening has a prize.

I am pretty positivily of this, but it could be different know for the last time i checked it was about 5 or 4 weeks ago.

I have never gotten anything out of the bronze, but never gotten empty otherwise. I wish I would get more credits, though, rather than so many walls and pins, I especially get those out of level 3.

I've had 7 keys in a row- 2 bronze, 3 silver, 2 gold- all gave nothing. I used them immediately after receiving them.

Here's a hint, when you hear the echo of "Dead Men Tell No Tales" use your magic, you get something every time! But make sure you wait for the echo ;)

Sorry, that's not true. I usually save my keys up and cash out right before close. I've stood at one treasure chest, cashing in 6 or 7 keys back to back and have gotten all empty chests. Other times back to back yields all prizes. Still other times it's been random. Some nights I've gotten the same prize exact prize back to back. (Yea, I was glad the night I got the 500 bonus credits from gold 4 times in a row -- another time I got 3 green thrones back to back followed by a blue then a black).

Personally? Like somebody said in an earlier post, it's to the point I'd rather have the empty or credit only boxes. I have pirate walls, cannon walls, turrets, and pirate thrones that are currently filling up storage rooms (yea, catch that? rooms!). And, please don't get me started on the use-less 1x use magic, lol. Usually, I forget I have it and it expires.

Aye aye Chele. I have gotten a fair number of keys and found the treasure chest rewards to be completely random. It hasn't mattered whether I'm in a crowded room, empty room, single keys, several keys, early in the day, near closing, where I'm standing in relation to the chest or whether I immediately follow someone else who just got an empty chest or a prize chest. The rewards are random. (I will admit that I haven't tried the echo of "Dead Men Tell No Tales" test.) I like getting the credits from the win that gave me the key. I like getting the empty chest since it gives you 100 credits. I especially like getting the 300 or 500 credit rewards, but I don't mind the coral magic or chairs or even the maze parts (although I prefer everything else above maze pieces). I love playing pirates and the friends I've made on the dock. To me the keys are just an added bonus where I might get something special. :pirate:
