Welcome to RocketMountain's Disney park books recommendations thread

This thread is where I will review Disney books. There are a lot of different books out there. Some are about the Disney park attractions and some are about Walt Disney.
I will start with From The Magic Kingdom To The Movies by Imagineer Jason Surrell. The books are the Haunted Mansion From The Magic Kingdom To The Movies and Pirates Of The Caribbean From The Magic Kingdom To The Movies.

Im going to start with the Haunted Mansion From The Magic Kingdon To The Movies

http://img.****************/albums/v731/1ryan1/8677322.jpg

This book starts out with forewords by Tom Fitzgerald, executive vice president, senior creative executive at Walt Disney Imagineering and Martin A. Sklar retired vice chairman and principal creative executve at Walt Disney Imagineering.
After the forewords it talks about the first plans for the Mansion and Imagineer Ken Anderson's very interesting concept story lines. It goes on to talk about a walk through haunted mansion tour. After it talks about how the 999 happy haunts story came to be, it explains Disneyland Paris' Phantom Manor development. Now the book takes you on a tour room by room of all the haunted mansions around the world starting with Disneyland's Mansion, Walt Disney Worlds, Tokyo's and Paris' Phantom Manor. The book now tells about how they took the haunted mansion ride and made a movie out of it.

This book is full of concept drawings, concept story lines and photos of all the haunted mansions around the world. Best of all are the stories by the Imagineers who created the attractions.
I would recommend this book to anyone who wants to learn more about their favorite ride.

My next reviews is Pirates Of The Caribbean From The Magic Kindom To The Movies

http://img.****************/albums/v731/1ryan1/9784243.jpg

The book starts with forewords by Imagineers Martin A. Sklar and Tom Fitzgerald about their history with the Pirates Of The Caribbean attraction. It goes on to talk about the first days of Disneyland and the capacity issues of the park. Walt assigned Imagineers John Hench and Bill Martin to work with Tommy Walker to design a new land for Disneyland which would become New Orlean's French Quarter. The book continues to tell about Mark Davis and how he was brought in from the studio to add some humor to attractions like Jungle Cruise and Mine Train Through Nature's Wonderland. The book now explains about the first plans for a Pirates attraction. The idea then was to make a pirate wax figure museum in the basement of the future new orleans square buildings. This was all put on hold for the new york world's fair. once the worlds fair was over, imagineers went back to the drawing board for the new orleans square project. The book talks about how the imagineers came back from the worlds fair with new ride sytems. now they could change the pirate wax museum from a walk through to a boat ride. The book now talks about how the pirates song came to be. The book shows photos and models of all the scenes and sculptures in the pirates attracton. The book explains how imagineer yale gracey's special effects were made. It features rare construction photos of the show building being made. the book continues with the making of the Walt Disney World's Pirates of the Caribbean, Tokyo pirates and Paris' pirates of the caribbean. you are taken on a tour, room by room, of all the pirates of the caribbeans around the world. After the tour it talks about how the movie was made.

I would recommend this book to anyone that wants to know more about the history beehind the pirates of the caribbean and new orleans square
