I'm telling everyone this way later than i should have, but i figure better late than never. I was in Epcot in late June. My friend and I had fastpasses for Test Track, so we headed over there. It started pouring rain while we were waiting in line, and it started raining and they "temporarily" closed down the ride, so me and my friend left. Me and my friend got as far as the baby care center at the Odyssey pavilion before it started completely pouring and we ran under the shade (we were going back to meet our parents, who were inside the Mexico pavilion). Once it slowed a bit, we got to Mexico and met our parents.

To the point, my friend plays VMK, and our moms were in the "Animales Fantasticos" section of the pavilion (the one at the front with all the neat carved animals) while it was raining and we were separated. They saw two men in sport coats and dress pants with CM nametags. They were looking through the class at the animals and were talking about "possible questions" they could use. The one that they suggested for where they were was a rhyming clue. , just like VMK quests. My mom came over to the cast members and said "Ah, are you all working on a VMK quest?" The men smiled looked at each other for a second guiltily as if she had figured it out, and one of the men smiled at my mom and said "We can't tell you that".

Could an Epcot or World Showcase quest be coming to us soon?

Wow that would be so cool for them to get a quest! Epcot is my favorite park too. But the thing is you will probably never know if it was yavn or not.

honestly, i doubt if it was Yavn...but these men from my mom's description seemed to have pretty high authority..and they were dressed differently from everyone in the park..even like, the managers. I think they were some sort of VMK staff. I'm not denying that it was Yavn though. I really have no idea. But how cool would a world showcase quest be? It's fun enough to explore World Showcase as it is..imagine if it were made into a quest! You could search the back alleys of Morocco, discover the architecture of all of it, go into the little museums that ppl don't normally go into, like the stave church in Norway and the Tin Toy museum in Japan.. there's plenty to have a quest made out of in the World Showcase. And what if it were made into a quest for all of Epcot? You might have to look at the different lunar landings on the model of the moon outside mission: space, or you could say.. look at the different vehicle crash tests in line for Test Track...man wouldn't it all be so awesome?

I would not be suprised if it was yavn and someone else on the team looking for possible questions for a quest.

I know yavn has mentioned several times that EPCOT is his favorite park in WDW.

I guess only time will tell. :)

Did you happen to catch what it said on their nametags, and whether their names matched any of the license plates in the VMK Sci-Fi Dine-In?

No, unfortunately i didn't. Trust me, when my mom told me this i was rushing her with all kinds of questions..she didn't find out too much and didn't tell me too much more than i've posted.

A World Showcase quest has seemed likely for a while. Actually, tied in to the Kidcot stations that are at each of the countries would be a great connection between VMK and the countries - and it would benefit both.

they had a poll on the VMK home page before saying what would be the coolest place to have a new quest? and the majority of the people chose EPCOT and i guess since what you told us there is now going to be an EPCOT quest!! :D

Really? When was this? I use VMK pal so i don't check the home page very often. That's awesome though!

It would be cool for VMK to have like once a month a new room based on a county is released. Ex. January every one who does the EPCOT World Showcase Quest will get a Mexico room, since that or Canada is the first county people walk to. Also, there can be a quest to get a Test Track car like the Animal Kingdom raft. People can complaign that WDW gets more quests, well they should, there are more parks, and I am not just saying that because WDW is about an hour away from me. It would be nice to have EPCOT items. I know, if that monthly room idea didn't work then after each county stamps a sheet and people go to VMK central in the Magic Kingdom then they can get the floating earth thing found in the water during the firework shows at night. Or people could just get a Spaceship Earth (the big white globe thing that is the logo of EPCOT) furniture piece. I know that would make some rare pieces for VMK. Other random VMK cards for an EPCOT quest could be a mexican pinata, maybe a troll or something from norway, Jap. or Chinease building structure. You know what? I have an even better idea. If a person gets each county to stamp a sheet of paper then this is what he/she can get at VMK Central. A Worldshowcase Guest Room with different county themes and a card with a special rare item exclusivly from that country. Maybe a Mexican hat, or pinata, Chinease acrobat suit, etc. Or maybe the world showcase room makes a circle and each county has a logo building that people can collect and put in their room and have their own personal collection of Worldshowcase buildings. I don't know, I am just coming up with ideas as I type this. But EPCOT does have some primise. If there is an Animal Kingdom room, then why not make an EPCOT room. Then later, an MGM room where people can collect film items or famous movie props that relate to Disney ex. the MGM could look like a movie set where people can place items and set a theme. I don't, what do you think.

hmm lets look at the facts

June 2006:
Team studies Epcot (possibly other parks) for something to do with VMK

October 2006 (or was it November?):
team gets a business trip to WDW, studying Epcot (possibly other parks) for quests and possibly other reasons

December 2006:
Team will be back in WDW to study parks for quests or other reasons

By Summer 2007, we should have a bunch of new things to look forward then. Possibly a Dreams quest even?
