Most likely they will still be out when you go because then it's only been a little over a month since they first came out. However, you never know for sure.....

WDW gets it before , and to tell you the truth my personal opinion is wdw is Disneyland and parts of DCA spread into different parks they can charge for. Waterparks are cool but there has been rumors of a water park at DLR
Nothing really surprising to me.

2 pins a box, each box has surprise pins and 2 surprise vmk cards (you wont know what they are until opened, then pretty sure you cant return them after that because they are vaccuum sealed). Also, each box is $14.00

In the end, you get 2 random vmk pins and cards every $14.00

I belive this is unfair. You have to buy a pin to get a card. I belive that you should work hard like going aroud the kingdom ( at least it gives you excersise. ) But we have to spend our money to get a virtual thing. I mean VMK is not life. Well it might be to some people but they ae taking money away from the people who just want a fire window or a pirate couch. Does anyone agree?

well, each pin alone in disney parks is usually anywhere from $5-$16. Getting 2 in a mystery box, and 2 vmk cards for $14 is really a great price. Besides, you don't even have to buy it because of vmk prizes, the pin alone is worth getting it. I'm sure people who like vmk (and collectors) will want the pins just as much as the cards.

Nice, they are a bit steep... by a lot actually. Do you people actually see that? You wonder why VMK is free, right here is your answer. Disney can probably make the card and pin for 5 cents in China (including shipping) then they sell it for $14 in the parks. That is pure profit going into their pockets. Sneaky people. Personally I never wanted to ever buy a pin, and I am glad I didn't even give in my decision.

AlexKeepsItReal

They will cost a bit below $150 if you bought them all. I was thinking about the eBay possibility, for the people out of state, but then changed my mind. It was too risky. Would someone not in Florida or Cali. want to pay more then $15? probably not.

LuvSimba

These are now available at Downtown Disney at Pin Traders, I saw them this past Saturday while attending the Festival of the Masters. The price is more than fair since the normal 'rack' open edition pins are $6.95.

Check the link in the newsletter or on the VMKF homepage there is information on there about them. They are suppose to be available to order over the internet tomorrow and officially for WDW tomorrow even though they have been released early at certain locations.

P.S. DLR will not receive them at the parks until 12/12/06 officially although they may get released early.

The parks have been doing the "free VMK card with purchase" deal for quite a while. Interesting that they're doing it with pins now. While I'm not a fan of the random cards (I am a pin collector, but I could use some for trading) I could see myself picking up a box now and then during a park visit.

Just got back from WDW. When we got there the pin hut at Downtown was sold out and wer were told to go to MK as they had 200 boxes. By the time we got there, they were sold out. The other parks each showed an inventory of less than 20 so we didn't bother. Before we went to MK we talked to a manager at the pin hut to find out if anymore would be in. He said they had asked for 200 more to be delivered but could not guarentee if they would arrive today or what time. Around 2:00 pm they did arrive. They knew we had been waiting for them (as we were stalking the hut...lol) so we got first dibs (I was concerned that whoever bought all the MK pins would buy all the pin hut pins). The line grew quite long right after us and many were buying 10 sets or more at a time.

We managed to get a full set (yay) ss now i have to put the codes in. For those of you collecting the cards...some bad news....the pin skewers the cards. :( Happy hunting!

I hope this is just an example of 'first day rush' like the release od PS3 coming up. I'll be there next Monday so hope they restock. Then again, I can see eBay vultures buying dozens of boxes, opening them, and reselling the pins for twice or three times their price. Only if Disney releases many boxes will the cost be kept down (on eBay that is). Can't wait to get my pins! (Or see yours Greenhpper!)

I'm wondering if there'll be the same type of rush at DL next month. The 12th is a Tuesday, and just a few weeks before the X-mas crowds come in. I'm wondering if that weekend would be a good time to go down and try to find some...

Be calm. These are open editions. There will be more than plenty to go around. Pin Traders (not called a pin hut), at Downtown Disney (Orlando) almost always gets pin related items first and sometimes before the release date, such as the VMK pin/cards. Then the rest of the parks. There were plenty last Saturday. If they are gone now, there will be more. Be patient.

Actually, 12th. Disneyland receives their's first usually because the office (like the Toontown Office) is closest to DLR. (The other office is a little farther away from WDW but is close and around the same range, it just was produced in the DLR Office).

December 12, not 22.

My pin boards say the 22nd for DLR, so it's been changed. As far as WDW being 'sold out' we long time pin collectors know that story all too well and the 'look we found another box' usually comes into play not long after the 'sold out' deal.

So according to Dizpins.com, the Pirate card/pins are being pushed back at DL from 12/12 to 12/22. Great.

Yeah, I saw that. Maybe after seeing the sales figures from Walt Disney World, they decided to hold off and order more before making them available at Disneyland.

Alert - the pins came out today at Disneyland :xmastree:

You can call Disneyland DelivEARS (number below) and order the POTC VMK mystery pins. I called earlier this morning and was able to order several boxes.

Disneyland DelivEARS:
1-800-362-4533 (press 1 when the phone answers)
Call between 8 AM and 5 PM Pacific time Monday-Friday, or 8 AM to 4 PM Pacific time on the weekends (I think).

For those of you on Eastern time that would be:
Monday-Friday 11 AM - 8 PM
Saturday-Sunday 11 AM - 7 PM

SKU # 11494001
$14.00 per box (1 box contains 2 pins), plus shipping.

They said the pins will probably be shipped out some time next week and may take a couple weeks to arrive.

Good luck if you're ordering :)

I purchased my pins from Disneyland today. P.T. Flea's in DCA was the only location still with them when I arrived.

Details:
Limit 25 boxes per person
1 case = 10 boxes
1 sealed case = 2 full pin sets (2 of each pin/card)

They still had a few left behind, but they were going fast.
