I'm thinking maybe VMK characters could have little amnimal add ons. (aka, kitty ears, bunny tail..ect ect.)

It would take away from the realisticness of VMK. Although you wouldn't see people turning into bats or making fireworks out of their heads, it is still like you're visiting the parks.

Most of the things you see in VMK (Besides the Magic and Games, among a few others) are things that /could/ actually happen in the park, and are based off the park.

Last time I was at WDW (April) I'm pretty sure I didn't see people walking around with ears and tails. =)

Wow, come to think of it, there's a lot of Studio Ghibli movies would make for some great costumes. Hmmm

MY OPINION:

VMK is a Disney On-line Game. Therefore it is centered around Disney Parks and such. Random animal add-ons would not fit that well in a Disney centered game.

Example: Would you think it would fit to have Snoopy (Cedar Fair Parks) or Nick (Paramount Parks/Cedar Fairs) characters in VMK with the Disney Characters? They would not fit with this Disney"fied" game. :)
