Is it just me, or is/was it only testers showing us this Epcot turnstile. Can anybody say who owns each room it is in, and which rooms
(with owner) it was taken out of?

Did you say Epcot turnstile? I've been wanting one of those for a long time...

Seriously, when did testers show this? Did I miss the boat again???

It can be set to charge for a ride (i think). It makes a chash sound when you go through.

ok, i guess that means staff and testers have it, meaning we may get it sooner that expected, but we may also may not. if only testers had it, i was guessing that means it wouldnt be out anytime soon.

And what about the Space Mountain Ride chairs. When are those coming out?

We don't know any of this. We only know things when they actually happen.

Even when something is announced in the newsletter, that doesn't mean it will happen as announced.

Hmm.. could this possibly be hinting to a new Space Mountain In-Park Quest?

Also could that new looking turnstile be hinting to a Epcot Quest? Or will it only be for Staff to charge us for things?

-- That new turnstile would be awful for the VMK Public to have especially if you can set the amount to charge.. People could scam people from their credits if you could. I think in my opinion it will only be for Staff so they can charge us for games and events.

I agree, i think it should be a staff-only item because people would make people come in and boot them. Tsk Tsk Tsk...

I don't particularly want Staff to charge us for games and events.

I think it wouldnt be bad to charge us for events and such. Think about it.. shouldnt they at least get something back instead us just pretty much giving us things free most of the time...

Well in the newsletter it states it will be for all, but it does not say if the credits will go to the rooms owner or just to nobody. (Hopefull nobody therefore no scams)

I'll bet 20,000 credits that VE (Virtual Epcot) will come out soon.

P.S. For future reference i am coining the term VE. Hey Ive got a rep to build.

I think they all work Mon-Fri (or at least their accounts do) and that they also have jobs other than VMK. I mean think managing a free game cant pay much!

P.S. Jon...its their bathroom? LOL JK

Ok, well, Yavn has confirmed that we'll be able to charge people to get into our guest rooms.

These things are going to be everywhere. People are going to want us to pay to get into their guest rooms now. This is going to be a mess.

Oh, I'm sure people will be warned before their accounts are debited.

Well, ok, pretty sure. Who knows. This whole thing sounds like a bad idea to me.

Agreed! I want a new poll (on vmk site) asking our opinion. Charging to get into a room is kinda ridiculous. I mean think someone could just claim to have an elaborate ride and then only have one great room. This is just going to cause more trouble.

First a young kid goes into a great titled room, its says "inferno!" or "stitch hat" and he pays his 100 credits then goes to the quest station and finds out that the quest is long, difficult and under most circumstances unreasonable. He attempts to complain and get the standard "use the contact us button, this is not a 911 emergency".
How about he pays his money then gets booted, logged out for some reason or just crashes. Or even better, the actuall quest is in a second room and the teleporter is supposed to take you there after you pay but it takes you to an empty room. Or even better, the quest station is closed, moved or the host leaves ending the quest early or frequently. I can sit here and think of more possible ways this will go bad and I'm not sure all the ways I have described are even possible but the real question is this:

When this hair brained idea goes bad, who will do the policing? Does VMK have the time or the man power to cover all the complaints this has the potential to produce and do they really want to? They sure could use their time better fixing the code to make things run faster with less crashes and not listening to "I got my money stolen by a turnstile"

Oh and BTW trading credits just got a whole lot easier, take a walk thru my turnstile and pay me 100, 200, 300 whatever I want then I will trade this rare item to you. After payment is complete, aww I crashed, no where to be found...omg another scam waiting to happen.

Umm... hate to break it to you, but I am 100% They work Monday through Friday. You say that a free game can't pay much. Boy how can you be wrong. This game was designed to be a promotional advertisement for Disney. You honestly think VMK is a small-time opperation. I think not. There are MANY positions in the design of ANY game. There are the coders, the people who create the game engine which sets the rules and functions possible. Opperation System to computer is game engine to game. It is the back bone. That kind of stuff isn't easy to make. Al we see are pritty colors and talking people, behind that is TONS of code which makes the game work like the way it does. In one Ask Yavn, I believe (I am not 100% sure where), Yavn said that they thought about making rooms tradable but the game engine wasn't capable of doing that. Besides coders, designers do what their name says. They design and plan out the game. Disney is a VERY qualified company and doesn't hire people that just graduation from basic computer training school. All the players see is a few VMK Staff, tests, HOSTs, and a few other. Actually there are many people behind closed doors that we don't even know about. VMK is a full time job. You obviously didn't think about your claim that VMK is only a part time weekend job. All we see is the fun game aspect, but they have to keep it all in order. Honestly, did you once even think about the people who even just maintain the building where VMK HQ is? This may seem funny, but there are janitors that have to work to. I doubt Yavn codes, designs, and controlls VMK as well as washing the outside windows. When a VMK team is sent to Disney parks for new ideas and qests, that is their job. They don't go for fun and games. The public does, not the employees. Disney is the LARGEST theme park company in the world. I didn't mean to get to a rant there, but yeah, VMK is no small side job. It is a 9 to 5 weekday job so-to-speak. I agree with Tink's Fireworks, it is a Saturday to saturday job. There are always people there working on VMK. Think aobut it, why is VMK only open certain hours of the day? So people can monitor the game. They all get paid... Wow... Now why did I type all this... who knows...

Did you guys read the news letter
As a Quest Maker, you'll be able to set Turnstiles to 4 different costs (0 credits, 5 Credits, 50 Credits and 100 Credits). As a Quester, players will be able to see the type of Quest offered as well as the prizes available for that Quest before they enter a turnstile. Quests are not the only uses for the turnstile, I can see rides, cafes and exclusive events all taking advantage of this option.

So do you think it will give every one a previw of each room on a ride! What I wrote is from the Yavn newsletter. To me, I think when you click on the Turnstiles a box will show that tells you how much the person is charging and a discribtion of the room and prize. That is what I thinck is going to happend. And on the scamers, just get the room host name before you do anything so you can report it and if you think is a scam don't go in the Turnstiles

olpmcgvmk, you should think twice before sending that message. In particular, realize that the quote you say is from piratetad was him quoting Yavn in the newsletter. Quoting Yavn's words back to him won't get you much support.

Instead of quoting a lot of other people, perhaps you should write a letter expressing your view, and making it clear they are your views.

Yesterday Yavn was answering some questions and he did say we'll see these very soon. He said they are aware of how people can abuse them and said it will be for us to decide if we want to keep them or not. He also said look for the switches this weekend in stores and that more info on Christmas stuff will be in the next newsletter.

great. So the issue is closed. No more complaining about how it can be abused
