The animated pictures you guys found on the web are too big to have as an avatar. Maximum size is 64x64 or 64 KB. Most pictures are icons, these icons are like, what.. 100x100? It will resize (64x64) and you can't see the animation, if it was an animated picture. If it wasn't, it will just resize.
