OK, all of a sudden, my daughter can't get in using Firefox on her eMac. She gets the security warning, but then it bounces her back to the signon screen (never get the black screen). Worked fine until a few days ago. And of course the "contact us" link is broken too!

Well, "Contact Us" has been down.
Can't help you with the Mac issue, I swear by PC's.

Contact Us looks to be back up. No resolution yet, will let you know.
I am mainly a PC guy, but after working with my daughter's eMac, I want one of the Intel based ones! Those Macs are really sweet, and now with the ability (that we don't have on her eMac) to seamlessly run Windows apps with Parallels, they are really nice.
Give one a try. Get a Mac mini and hook it up to your DVI display.

I have given one a try..
A MacBook.
To keep it sweet and short, let's just say I was not impressed. Especially with the hardware..

Really? PowerPC or Intel? What didn't you like? I find their hardware especially well done compared to any PC.
That coupled with the fact that much more often than on a PC stuff just works.

A MacBook running an Intel Core Duo processor.
It did the following things:
Randomely shut off
Had sticky keys
Got EXTREMELY hot
Discolored
The above issues I had are all known problems by the way. I called Apple and demanded a refund, which I got. I then went back to the PC and will never leave the PC again.

Oh, the regular MacBook - and it sounds like an early one. That was rushed. Try an iMac, mini or MacBook Pro.
PC's are fine out of the box (usually), but they are subject to a million security holes, and a kernal that collapses as you install and deinstall.
The registry is the worst implemenation in an OS ever.

Ah, rumors have it that apple will have trouble in the future. hackers are turning finding ways to defeat apple's security.
