pirate costume (not the pin)
pirate magic
palm tree
treasure chest.
also, tomorrowland will open 2006, the cowboy will be sold along with frontierland opening, and it is now true that there will be more magic pins to come. 1 final advisement, Donate to the red cross for hurricane victoms. a few bucks can save a life. this has been CL_ChrisR with a vmk news alert.

I was just at WDW this weekend and I did not see any new quests. Also, our tour guide did not mention any new quests.

You know what.. that might actually make perfect sense.... with HM not coming back until January.. they can use POTC instead... since it is New Orleans Square... and a quest for BTM would be hard to do... LOL

I totally see your point, but I have a feeling the PotC quest is not a substitution or replacement for the HM quest. Some VMK tour guides have mentioned that they are still tossing around ideas for what do with the HM quest during the seasonal change. It would be so disappointing if you took the tour and weren't able to win all those exclusive HM items. My guess is that they're simply giving people more incentive to visit the parks. I know they can count on my money...

i wonder. i did not see anyone in the park with any new tourcards, but then again i was stuck by the cappo cart by the castle all night up to my elbows in whipped cream.

i would verify it today, but it takes too long to go into the park from backstage when im there. sorry!

I took the VMK insider tour last weekend (at WDW), and on it, they stated that the Haunted Mansion would be coming down for repairs / refurbishment in the coming months and that in that time they would be substituting the HM quest with a Pirates one. And that she believed (but couldn't comment on) the fact that they would be having new prizes to go with it. So that's coming from a VMK tour guide. Take it as you will.

A POTC Quest sounds cool but POTC is a ride I go on for leisure not a quest. The prizes will be rare to me since Disneyland is now entering off-season and summer is leaving. So I think this DLR Prizes will not be as seen as some of the Quest items especially the WDW Quests.


As for Tomorrowland opening in '06 I always thought it would open Feburary 2006! I saw the sketches on the tour and it looks amazing so it will be worth the wait.

As for the prizes they sound cool and who knows is there two new quests

I was at Disneyland on monday, and did all 4 available quests, and no POC quest to be seen. Ticks me off too! lol I sure would have liked to accomplish that quest while I was there, seeing how I also missed the VIP tour because it was full. :( For all that are planning to take the VIP tour, get there half an hour before opening as the month of August had alot of blockout dates for pass holders, and they are coming in droves in September which has fewer blockout dates. This is what the Disneyland VMK center told me. Drat, I really want that Haunted Mansion room, hopefully will take the tour before they take the HM quest away. Just wish I had a last possible date in which I and the rest of us can get take the HM Quest? Anyone Know??? :wave2:

I was at Disneyland today (Tuesday 9/6 and here's what I report):
All insider tours for today are cancelled.
None of the different cast members that i talked to at the VMK Booth or inside Innoventions had even heard of a Pirates of the Caribbean quest and have not seen one.
Haunted Mansion was still open today
However, this does not mean that there will be no pirates quest, just not today as some thought. It would be a good logical guess that they would release it since Haunted Mansion will be changing over to it's Holiday/Nightmare Before Christmas Decor which would remove many of the answers to the Haunted Mansion quest.

But what made up for going to Disneyland and find out there's no new stuff is that Disneyland was EMPTY! Wow, its been a long time since i've seen those low wait times (And there's plenty of FastPasses for Space & Splash Mountain to spare :D )

I forgot to add that Yavn also said that the quest would be available at both WDW and DLR.

This makes sense to me because the pirate costumes seem to be gender specific. It would be very confusing to distribute them if they have boy costumes and girl costumes on different cards.

Well As most people know i am at disneyland like almost every week i will be at disneyland tomorrow to try doing tour again for my 5th time and then im going to get down there next tuesday since HM goes down monday and see what they decided to do ill take my camera when i go next week and get picture if i see anything new

My question about the Pirate quest beginning on Monday was not answered by my tour guide, but I was winked at. ;) Also, as I left POTC later on, I saw a bunch of Tour Guides (2 of whom I knew for sure were VMK Insider Tour Guides specifically) huddled around the exit, being instructed by another tour guide who was saying "now you will bring them up through here if the attraction line has too long a wait..."
I shall also go to Disneyland next week (hey Hearts maybe we can do the Tour together again :)) and report back on my findings. :)

I'm just glad yavn said that the costume isn't going to be a prize from the quest. I rather pay 2k+ for the costume with the various shirts and hats than hound someone on my friends list that can go to the parks again. I'm still feeling rather ashamed for doing that. :(

Are you sure these aren't some rumors that are buzzing around? You'd think that something as big as a costume would be released at every Disney park, not just Disneyland. Maybe WDW will come out with a pirate quest, but it seems kind of unfair that Disneyland gets some of the better stuff. Seeing as I have never seen any of the Disneyland quests, I can't say, but I know some of the Disney World prizes aren't that great. I was also disappointed that Disneyland had the Magic Mirror, so I think the pirate costume and all that stuff is going to get very rare. I am all the way on the other end of the country from Disneyland, and I can't just get up and go there whenever I want. (Disney World maybe, lol :Tongue: )

As far as Tomorrowland's opening, I thought Frontier and Tomorrowland came out together; at Christmas time. It seems kind of odd to make everyone anxious for Christmas but then move up the opening date. They were best off by opening them together.

I don't know about this, they should have the same things at both parks, I live on the other side of the United States, so I can only go to WDW, and it's unfair if people who go to DL get stuff that others can't get from WDW.

I spoke with guest relations last night and the Haunted Mansion at WDW will not close for refurb until November 5th! It will be closed for normal maintenance not due to any holiday events. So I guess East coasters will either get the short end of the stick, we will get the POTC quest in November, or our tour will finally become longer (We only go on three rides). I can only hope it is the last option. :D
