Now, A lot of you know, that my account was stolen from me, through scamming... It’s been almost 6 months now, since this has happened, but no reply from VMK Staff! I think they just ignored it, not caring that MY ACCOUNT WAS STOLEN!...

It’s been going on almost 6 months now, that I have lost my account. It all started in the beginning of May, when a girl (I won’t say her title, because it’s flaming) PMed me on VMKM (another fan site, that i can't say the title of), and said that she liked my inferno offer, and she might take it… I, myself, was really excited to hear this! I thought, wow, will she take it?! I was so astonished; I guess I just wasn’t thinking…

Then she said she wanted to keep talking on AIM (she saw that I had a user there), because she said we could talk fast there, and I said okay. As soon as we started talking there, she said that her brother could get me inferno, or anything else I wanted, for free! (She just wanted a few room codes I had, but that’s it!) I was like WOW…

Then, She let her brother talk to me, and I asked him how in the world he could get inferno for me for free! He said that he used to work at DLR (Disneyland) and that when he quit; they gave him this special program. He said that if you just type in the name of the item, and your username and or password (I FELL FOR IT! 0_o) it will automatically give you the item! I, being so amazed, and thinking that it was true, gave him my username... (Since I was stupid to think that he wouldn’t get both, so he couldn’t hack onto on to my account... yea right! -.-) So I gave it to him, and then he promised it would give me inferno... BUT IT DIDN’T! So I told that guy it happened, and he said that if I gave him my password, it almost definitely work…

After talking to him for a while, I began to trust him and his sister TOO MUCH (I shouldn’t have >_<). So I gave him my password (when I gave it to him, VMK had just closed) and he said that there was a 99% chance I’d get Inferno... Yea right! :|

The next day, when I TRIED to enter VMK, it wasn’t working... I almost burst out crying, all that 6 months of working so hard, for NOTHING, and LOSING ALL MY FRIENDS! (That’s what I care about to most!) After about trying, I don’t know, around 20 times to get on, I went to contact us and told them what had happened.

What do you think I should do? How can I get my account back?

You won't be able to. You broke the VMK values by giving out your personal information. Sadly I don't feel bad for you only because you know better than this!

I would report it so that they can close the account if they choose to.

Start again is all I can say and let this be a lesson to you and EVERYONE HERE to NOT GIVE OUT YOUR INFORMATION!!!!

I think it's very helpful for other players to be able to hear your story, because even though warnings abound on the VMK home page, very few people actually read them. Nobody thinks it will ever happen to them!

Thz Alice, i know, i actually did read them, but she just became such a good friend of mine.. I just don't have any excuse, it was my fault.

sorry about your loss, but you just educated a bunch of people, so it is not entirely so bad, if you look at it that way. :)

Another scam-it's just a game! why do people result to real-world methods to get virtual stuff that is only meaningful in the game. once they have it what great is it anymore? they did not honestly get it, so they shouldn't feel good about it and wouldn't have the same feelings from achieving it as an honest person would.

Another scam not to fall for is the "can i try on your crown", etc. if it is someone you have known for a while, than go ahead if you trust them, but if you don't know them, best not to do it.

If that ever happens again, make them the Greates Fool . hehe. It gets fun.
Play along with it and act really interested and like your falling for it. when they ask for your password and stuff give them false information. They will try it and say ' it didn't work, did you spell it right? '

you broke the values like spinmarty said. It was your own fault. Don't worry since technically they broke the values too if I see you person walking around I will report them. You fought the vmk law and you lost, they didn't catch you but the scammer did

OFF TOPIC: Wild world is pretty fun. I did almost all I could. caught all the bugs and fish, but still missing parts of my furniture theme. Scorpians and Trantulas are evil. They attack you. I had no idea what happened when I was first attacked

Yea, that's what i finally decided to do. I only told a few of my closest friends (on VMK) of the situation, and asked them to be friends again. The rest i just am not dealing with.. I sort of like having a new rep, and starting all over. :)

I knew it was too good to be true, and politely and curtly told him no thank you during our IM discussions. As soon as he said "Okay, I need your VMK Username", I knew that was going too far. It was my e-mail address he wanted! No way I'd give that out to a total stranger!

Hopefully this will at least teach you to keep a sharper eye out for scams in both VMK and life ;)

something like that happened to one of my friends. She knew this girl in real life a friend of hers ( that lived in a different state) ( she moved cause of her fathers work) and they were talking and the girl knew she could trust her and said can you hold my things cause i need to put them on my new account
( alot of things some magic,rare and what not )the other girl said yea of course you know you can trust me, so she was like ok great thanks. well she came back to that room, her friend was gone and she found her later in a trade room saying she was trading alot and her friend didn't know the new account name so the girl just was likeso what are you trading? the other girl said all these things and it was everything that one girl gave her so she was like do you know who this is, ? and then she was like this is so and so ( she said her old account name ) and she was like i want my stuff back! and the other girl was like no i have it so yea she got everything taken but just another story about ow you can't trust everyone but there are a select few
