Hey, I wanted to know how many of you have pre-ordered the Wii or any games. I haven't, but I'll be getting it at some point. I also wanted to know what you guys think of it. I think the controller idea is cool, along with the backwards-compatibility.

meh can not wait to get it! it so shiny.. it also has internet can we play VMK on it? bc I was a movie from the wii site and said it can play flash videos but can it play flash games? :h-confuse

VMK is Shockwave. And flash movies are the same thing as games.

Well that may be true for the state/country you live in. In other parts of the world there probably still some pre-orders left. Trust me on this. Yes it's popular but not every state/town/city/country does the same thing. Everyone has their own style.

Anyway i'll get it next year probably. Wait to see if it explode -.- Or has any bugs (Like The X-Box 360) And i'll play my Game Cube till it dies out untill i get it.

Check on Google. That's what I did, and the only site that had preorders was a fakie site where you never get the item you order.

Anyway, I don't think people will be camping out in front of Best Buys, and we'll be able to get it just as easily I got the Nintendo DS when it came out.

Yea i thought it was an interesting approach with the whole ' two remote thingies ' and it reacts to movement. The Rayman: Attack of the killer bunnies game interested me alot lol

I have never been a big fan of these bundles.

I will be standing in line early Sunday or late Saturday the weekend it is released and HOPEFULLY get one.

I'm going to start calling these stores to see if it will be available on release.

I probably won't buy it on the release date. First I got to get rid of my Gamecube on eBay and that takes time. I'll get it close to release date though. It's sort of a risk, getting it when it first comes out, if you remember what happened with the 360s.

i dont see why u would want the wii well its got the zelda game on it but im waiting for PS3 since it has better graphics, tilt sensing technology in controllers and it has HDMI, WI-FI and it has a hard drive in it, no more memory cards lol. but thats my opinion, i have a link to a site that has all the info on the wii ill post it later on when i find it

Only problem is PS3 is 500 bucks.

well u could buy the core version and just buy the parts thast dont come wit it like the memory card reader, but i just think that the PS3 will be alot better than any new game console like the wii, xbox 360, etc., bc it has blu ray which allows a game disc to have better graphics and make the games more in depth for example the wii has a 500 graphics and the PS3 has 1048 graphics the reason why it is different is bc the wii uses the disc scanner that the PS2 or Game cube uses which is pretty good for a disc scanner that old then the PS3 uses the blu ray which has 50x i think more space than a regular disc so its cable of holding more information.

ah, i'm not a big Graphics fan, and plus, I'm not the biggest war and racing game player, and thats what PS3 mostly is, XBOX has the biggest variation, I can tell you that, and Nintendo does party games and some rpg's. I usually go for the most innovative, that most people say will fail, like the DS, everyone said it would fail turn it in, and it was doing bad at first, but then it boomed and is the best handheld in money and customer satisfaction (PSP is good, but anyone who got it when it first came out had a bug in their system, there wasn't any with DS). This is my opinion, you can have other opinions, this one's just mine. :D

I agree levity. I do not enjoy playing most of the first-person shooter games. Wii will have some great games, and in fairly decent grahics.

Yes they did, and another thing, do not get a PS3 when it first comes out, it might be fun now, but if it's anything like PS2 1. It will have an annoying bug 2. It won't play games that come out in a couple years. And the bug is why i'm not getting a wii right away either, I'm guessing since no one has gone that far in technology that there's bound to be a few bugs in the first couple batches.

360 had some bad issues, and ps3 probably will too. Nintendo has been better about really making sure their products are working fine on release. And if it doesn't, I'm hoping I can exchange it for one that does.

Nintendo hasn't had a bug on the past the devices that I know of, but i'm just saying this technology is huge so it could easily have a bug

well sony didnt copy the tilt sensing technology bc the PS3 has been in development for a longer time than the Wii has and nintendo has had a few bugs on their game systems, and i own 2 PS2 and i have never had a bug on either of them. the PS3 does have a lot of different games to choose from like racing, shooting, fighting, sports, etc. ALso how can u be sure heir will be a bug on the PS3 if you havent played a PS3 before since they havent come out yet

Listen, Sony ripped Nintendo off on the motion sensing-front. PS3 and the Wii have been in development for a long time, but PS3 only very recently has changed their controller to be motion sensed. Besides, I'll bet half the games won't take advantage of it anyway.

I don't really like Sony game systems. They focus on too small of an audience. They have war games, sports games, and a couple racing games. That's about it. XBox is better about that, because it has a bit more variety (great adventure games such as Pacman World 3 and Lord of the Rings, as well as excellent shooters like Halo and Call of Duty). Wii, however, is definitely the best of the bunch in my book. It is the most innovative, the most affordable, and it looks like the most fun. The other systems are hardly any different from their older counterparts. Wii is completely different, plus it's coming with all of its "channels".

And yes, PS3 will likely have bugs. I doubt Wii will, and if they do, it will be in the minority and won't be that big a deal.

they did not recently just cange their controller and they didnt rip off nintendo they had their controllers with the motion sensing tech in them at E3 . and the PS2 and 3 does have call of duty except the xbox uses the PC version, and sony does focus on a bigger audience just like all companys bc if they didnt how would they make all that money by focusing on a small audience.

They have been developing it for so long, but only recently changed the controller type. The original plan looked a lot like a boomerang. I guess it really depends on what games you like. I'd have to say the only PS that offered the most variety was PS1, but, of course.. Maybe your PS2 was bought after a bug was fixed?

well one of them was but i bought my second 2 years ago just before the new PS2 came out but when i meant changing controller i meant the motion sensing but i had seen the pictures of the boomerang controller and sony had been talking when they had that design for the controller to use motion sensing tech in it, but i just heard a few weaks ago on CheatCC.com that they were using the old design the daulshock controller and yes it does depend on what kind of games u like, like i like the call of duty series and cant wait for it to come out bc i know it will be awesome from what ive read in nintendo power. oh i forgot to mention this in last post Xbox does have about the same type and no. of games that the PS2 has

The Wii is going to be amazing! I saw a employee play it at an EB Games yesterday and i was blown away of how fun it looked. Sadly i was not allowed to play it -.-

The PS3 did somewhat rip off nintendo on the motion technology. I have played the PS3 i thought the graphics were amazing and the new dualshock controllers are better then they used to be. But with a Price Tag at $500-600there is going to be no compairison when it comes to the PS3 to the Wii or Xbox 360. The PS3 has pretty much the same exact games as Xbox 360 does so that is why i am not going to buy it.

The Wii has a very good chance at winning the console wars but with Xbox 360 a huge hit it is going to be interesting to find out.

Wii definatley has more release titles. I was suprised to see that Super Mario Galaxy would no longer be available on release. I think I'll get the Zelda game, all the others look like third-party made games.

i belive the dualshock controllers will be better also i souldnt see how i could use the boomarang style it just looked big. and the wii doesnt have a big genre of games for its launch date or for whats been confirimed

The only problem I have with the Wii is the 480p. I really like having the 1080p on the 360, since I'm really hyped about graphics.
That's the only thing about the Wii. They have a really good variety of games, like lower-reated games for those who are younger and can't play the higher-violence types of games. Plus, now that I know how the motion-sensing "Stick" (How I like to call it ;)) works, it looks really cool.
PS3... I agree with Skippy. Sony doesn't have a very large variety of the lower-rated games...
That's pretty much my idea. I probably won't get the Wii anytime soon, since the 360 is doing wonders for me. :)

Actually the Wii doesn't come out until December 2nd in Japan. That is what Nintendo has been doing lately. Releasing the new systems in the US first. Oh well, can't be too bad can it?

Hey, did any of you guys line up for a PS3? Are you going to for a Wii?

I personally don't know if I'm going to line up yet. First, I don't know if Target opens at Midnight. If it doesn't, I'm going to church. But will they be all gone Sunday afternoon? We don't live in a huge town but there were people lining up last night and the night before. And are people even lining up for a Wii?

An hour away from where we live there is a "town" that has a Best Buy. The town is bigger then ours and people were lining up at Best Buy. We had a few people at Target and Wal-Mart here. What do you guys think?

Well, Just a heads up each Best Buy will have a minimum of 20 PS3 (60GB Versions) and 6 PS3 (20GB Versions). Here is the explanation of what "Best Buy (http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?id=pcmcat106800050008&type=category&h=387)" will be doing, just click on my Best Buy link. I have posted this previously within another thread somewhere, but $600 is quite a bit of money for a game console, especially since you can put that money towards a pretty good computer. I wouldn't spend my time waiting in those long lines, and would be more than happy to purchase one next year when the prices drop a bit. If your borderline with affording the $600 price tag, I highly recommend putting your money towards a computer which will go a lot further for you...

XBOX 360 is better than a PS3 I can prove it if you want, sony spent so much money on the PS3, and XBOX has the same features as PS3 but a PS3 is more expensive. Well I can explain fully but not now.

A minimum of 20. Ours had 30. But I don't know if it was 20GB, 60GB or altogether. And yes, I think $600 is a ridiculous amount. But there are some people that will pay that much.

In one of the cities near me, people lined up like, a day before or something... But that store (I think it was Best Buy...) didn't get the permit they needed to be open at midnight, so no one could buy anything @_@

I just saw a news article on TV last night about the release of the PS3. Apparently, one of our local best buys received about 120 and sold 100 last night. They were going to sell the other 20 today (I think they were going to do a random drawing). Here's the kicker, people lined up for this thing on MONDAY! Most of them admitted that they are not keeping the console. They plan to resell them on Ebay where they are apparently going for a few grand. Sony would have been better off selling directly to Ebay or marking up the first shipment. Sad really.

I've already decided to wait at least a year to purchase either the PS3 or the Wii. I should have finsished all my games I have going by then. ;)

Sony's initial retail strategy for the PlayStation 3 will involve two configurations detailed in a Sony press release. The "premium" version of the PlayStation 3 will come with an internal 60 GB Serial ATA 2.5" hard drive, Wi-Fi connectivity, and multiple flash memory card readers, and features a brighter cosmetic silver-colored trim. Both consoles now feature a silver-colored logo, to add to the cosmetic appeal of the packages. The second, alternate configuration of the console will have a 20 GB internal hard drive, but will not feature Wi-Fi or a memory card reader. The hard drive is upgradeable, and memory card support can be added through adapters,but Wi-Fi support cannot currently be added.

I just saw a news article on TV last night about the release of the PS3. Apparently, one of our local best buys received about 120 and sold 100 last night. They were going to sell the other 20 today (I think they were going to do a random drawing). Here's the kicker, people lined up for this thing on MONDAY! Off-topic but who has seen that Gears of War commercial? Probably one of the most interesting ones I've seen in a long time. It's odd/cool/sad in it's own way. You just have to see it.

my dad was telling me that on his way to work this morning, he was listening to the radio, and at that point they said some bid on ebay was already at $8,000 for the PS3, 80 people bid so far, and it had around an hour or 2 left (cant remember exactly the time left).




Personally, i plan on getting the Wii by Christmas, or very shortly after (as a gift or on my own, most likely gift. That Stock Chanel or a News Channel has already said that the Wii should be easy to get by Christmas, but not the PS3. Due to Play Station systems being very popular and high on demand, i'm going to have to wait between January and April to get my PS3. So far, i have to wait on the PS3, Wii, and the new vmk pins!

Ok so far from what I heard on a Playstation magazine was that Sony was only shipping 500,000 over the world until Holidays ended (Or before I don't remember the article too well).100,000 went to Japan 400,000 went to the U.S and Europe will get them in the summer of 07.One of the reasons for the small supply they say is to make sure the new technology completely works.If im wrong just post.

no it doesnt. xbox doesnt have a 60 gig hard drive, blu ray disk or tilt sensing controllers. thats what sets them apart and thats why it costs so much bc the blu ray disk cost almost 100 dollars then add a 60 gig drive thats about a 100, then add the motion device thats like 150 probably. then if u add the CPU that is like another 200 so thats really i great price for the PS3

insane what someone was putting on ebay i heard on news. get ready to be stunned almost 15,000 dollars thats way to much. also some group of kids thought it be funny to do a drive by BB gun shooting at the ppl outside of Target last night in my city

no it doesnt. xbox doesnt have a 60 gig hard drive, blu ray disk or tilt sensing controllers. thats what sets them apart and thats why it costs so much bc the blu ray disk cost almost 100 dollars then add a 60 gig drive thats about a 100, then add the motion device thats like 150 probably. then if u add the CPU that is like another 200 so thats really i great price for the PS3

i saw the prices on the stock channel last nite. the $500 PS3 took them around $804 to make. The $600 PS3 took them around $834 to make.

the title of the few minute discussion on the channel was title something like "Sony loses, You Win." The reason for that is because for us, even though the prices seem expensive, it's actually cheaper for us. However, Sony then has trouble making all the money back.

Because the systems are cheaper for us thats why they only made a few hundred thousand but i believe Sony will make it through the consol war.

I kind of work for Circuit City, so I got to pre-order mine, and have them hold it back for me. So far, I love my PS3. I didn't buy the Wii since they were out of stock. But the PS3 as far as I can tell is great.

I love the new look on the main console! I think everyone else will too.

BTW: The 60GB is silver, and the 20GB is black.

I had the chance to get into EB Games today, and i played the Wii for my fisrt time.


The console was smaller than I thought it would be, but of course that is better! I created a short, fat little Mii, and started playing Excite Truck (that was the only game available to play at the time.
You held the controller like a steering wheel, pressing "2" to go. it was difficult at first, I kept crashing my vehicle. But eventually I got the hang of it. The controller was comfortable in your hand, and did not suffer loss of control because of distance from the console. I hope some store will have it available tomorrow. I'm going to get the console with Zelda and another controller (and eventually another nunchuck). Over all, I am very satisfyed with the Wii.

Have fun with the Wii whoever is getting one just be careful exiting the game stores we don't want any more mishaps with stealing of consoles.

BTW - The line at Best Buy is UNBELIEVABLE!! People were told to stay out because Best Buy was completely filled with people trying to get PS3. They had the EXACT limit of people the Fire Marshall would allow.

As for the Wii, people are sleeping in campers as we speak, in Best Buy parking lot.............waiting for the Wii to release tomorrow.

It is so expensive because they have Blue-ray technology that alone costs $300 dollars that makes the PS3 so expensive. It really is not wrong to charge $600. What is wrong is to cause so much hype and then not have enough consoles to supply the demand is rediculous. So many people went through trouble becaues there was not enough supply to the demand.

The wii controls take a while to get use to but wii sports is so exciting when you actually use it as a racket, bat, bowling ball, golf club, and even a boxing glove. This is a great system for families!! And the Wii market place is up and they have some sweet old games for 500-1000 Wii points (I think that is $20 for 2000 points).

Final Vertic i think the PS3 did not live up to the hype, while the Wii went up and over its hype to be an amazing console. Have fun getting one or playing one :D.

I got to play it my uncle bought it for my younger cousin for Christmas and he invited me to go play to make sure it worked fine and to see how a person around his age feels about it so i went and tried it. Let me tell you it is quite impressive. The graphics without a doubt are the best i have seen yet. The only thing is some games are very hard to play with. And sometimes the control buttons get stuck or are too sensitive. But other than that it's awesome. I want it!

Well, the graphics are better than the current PS2, XBOX, and GC, but don't even compare to the 360 or PS3.

Relize that the majority of users on eBay wouldn't do that, because you can get into SERIOUS trouble if you don't give a person what they paid for.

i waited 2 hours in line i woke up at four and got there at 4:30 the dude came and sied theres only 9 wii's and we needed our id's ( im glad my dad came ) and some ppl didnt have there ID's so we where 2 away :) soooooo close

The site, which I will not mention, does exist. They have many stories of the wriststrap breaking and hitting a television or computer or something. Pretty amusing actually.

Now on a more pleasant note, I had the opportunity to play with a friend's Wii, and I must say that I am throughly impressed with the new console, and found all the games on Wii-Sports to be not only easy to pick up, but tons of fun. I highly recommend the Wii to gamers and non-gamers everywhere.

cheatcc is a good source of information thats how i know in advance when a new game is coming out. i will get on after the the new hand strps are out,or before since im not going to be flipping it al over the place which will cause it to break.

they did not recently just cange their controller and they didnt rip off nintendo they had their controllers with the motion sensing tech in them at E3 . and the PS2 and 3 does have call of duty except the xbox uses the PC version, and sony does focus on a bigger audience just like all companys bc if they didnt how would they make all that money by focusing on a small audience.

and if the PS3 does have bugs there wont be to many and the wii will have some bugs nothing will be perfect

I, sub-consciously, have always preferred Nintendo over Sony. Like I said though, sub-consciously. I feel they do target a smaller audience. Or, to put it better, a specific audience. They make so much money because tons of people like war games and games where you shoot and kill people and stuff like that.

Sony and Nintendo are both good about fixing bugs. Like pirate said, they both will have bugs, no doubt about it, but both consoles bugs will probably be minor.

My Wii had no bugs whatsoever. But the bad thing about PS3 was that it went just like the 360 (in terms of not enough). Sure, there weren't too many Wiis, but many stores only got upwards of 5 playstations.

everything but tiring i played wii all day yesterday and never got tired. u did get on thing right it destroys furniture anything with glass is its enemy lol

Lol its funny to know that all the straps are breaking, so far my straps on all four of my controls haven't broken off yet (knock on wood) but I have to say that when you play the Wii Sports boxing, it can get a little too exciting.

My dad's been trying to get one for awhile now. He always seems to miss the cut by one or two people in the line. We somehow got the nearly impossible to obtain PS3 but we're having trouble with the Wii. Today he got to the store at 5:00 A.M but was 24th in line with 22 Wii's in stock. Hope he's able to get one by Christmas or I'll get an IOU.

lol they should be fine if u arent swinging it all over the place. i just had a thought are these the sames straps that came with the original nintendo DS? they look alike probably they are and thats where nintendo went wrong lol bc we dont sling the DS all over the place like the wii.

Mmmk. So I was on the right track.. Just without the details.

The forecast channel has been released. To get it, you must be connected to the internet (on your Wii) and run an update. Also, a trial of the Opera Browser (internet channel) will be free on the 22nd. The full version will be available in March.

i havent checked, but once you have your wii hooked up to the internet, can you play games with people around the world who own the wii and that game (like xbox live, but for nintendo)?

I believe some games will use the Nintendo WiFi Connection. And of course you can send your Miis to your registered friends, and you can send them messages. You can also send emails to and from your Wii to a computer. And with the Opera browser, you can play flash games and possibly Shockwave games in the future (like VMK!)

Hi all! I am using the wii right now to surf the net. It is pretty neat, but pages show up weird. I have yet to find out if we can play VMK.

I just got the Excite Truck game. It's fun!

Also, yesterday the internet channel was released, and it also is working well.

There's no Wi-Fi games yet for the Wii in America. There's still tons of stuff the Wii does on the internet right now, however. Pokemon Battle Revolution was the first Wi-Fi game released in Japan. It's very similar to the DS's Wi-Fi.

I got Zelda as well for my Wii. I think that it is very fun and has a really cool adventure in it.
I also have Call of Duty 3. I haven't played it much. (So into Zelda.) But I think it will be a really cool and fun game as well!

Not like too many people use the internet option on consoles and portables anyway. It's a nice bonus feature though!
