On my latest trip to WDW I was walking through Main Street when I saw a man, he was big and wearing a lavish tuxedo so I thought he must be a cast member and sure enough he cracked a joke about my pluto hat( it was said to my mother, " Mam, you must check in your dog at the, Oh dear its a child") So it turned out I had just met the mayor of Main Street. Post your meetings with him.

Yes I saw him...and some lady too. I never really met him. So, has he learned all these jokes beforehand or does he have to make them up as he goes along? lol

I met the mayor of Main street he played VMK with me and we started cracking jokes, now he is my friend on vmk :)

For the 50th Celebration, the Mayor would hold a ceremony every day with Mickey and the other characters in which they'd reenact Walt Disney's dedication of Disneyland. It was a fun show.

I saw him at christmas and i heard him Sing:
"Chestnuts roasting over an open fire.. Jack Frost nipping at your...toenails..." i thought it was funny :xmas16:

Have to catch them early in the morning, though, as they bring out that stupid "Trolley" production number by noon, and start roping off the parade route by 1:30 or 2.

I've never met the Society Columnist. The Barbershop Quartet (The Dapper Dans) is great, especially once they find out it's your birthday and decide to embarrass you in front of everybody. :)

I met him when me and friends were chosen to be grand marshalls for the day. He was very funny!

I saw a mayor when they were doing the flag ceremony at Town Square. He was just standing near the back so I thought he was a cast member until I saw a big blue ribbon saying mayor LOL.

The dear Mayor is here at Disneyland Park too! in 2005 when they did the christmas tree lighting ceremony the Mayor is trying to say the story of "Twas the night before christmas" but keeps getting interrupted, it was quite funny actually

Yes, he is at Disney World in Florida too. These characters are a big reason why I like to just "wander" in the parks; you never know who you will meet and what they will do or say!

They are part of the Disney atmosphere, but they are so funny. Interesting to hear that the Mayor plays VMK. I wonder if he plays a Mayor in VMK and walks around Main Street there.

But I seriously doubt that anyone claiming to be an official Mayor of Main Street on VMK is actually sanctioned by the company. He's probably just a fun guy who liked the character and decided that he (or maybe even she) would bring the character to VMK.

The mayor opens the park and goes all around main street all day. When I was at A Main Street restaurant, he came in for ten minutes and told jokes and such. It was a neat experience.

I haven't actually met him, but I've seen him in one of the parades at DLR.
