View Full Version : How impossible it will be to get into the Halloween Maze
Thark 10-20-2006, 05:21 PM Well, I think it will be near impossible to get into the maze unless people move really fast to let others in. With the 50 people in line limit it will be so hard to get into the que. I remember last year when I waited in line behind 700 people.
Any opinions?
Thark
wishingblues 10-21-2006, 06:22 AM yes i have to agree last year it was like 600 something when i tried and then i couldn't even go anywhere because vmk was so slow it was a painful experience lets hope that the same things won't happen again:11:
timmyastro 10-21-2006, 06:26 AM there is no dc this time , if you have patience it will all be okay even with 600players wanting to get in. :11:
JustOh 10-21-2006, 06:30 AM Yes It should be fine :)
MichelleA 10-21-2006, 06:34 AM I think there is going to be more than 1 room
SpinMarty 10-21-2006, 06:46 AM Yes It should be fine :)
(VMKF mods, may we use this in posts like this? Or shall we reserve spoiler posts for only spoilers?)
Please use it only for spoilers otherwise it will be overused and be considered an annoying posting style, which is against forum policy, a banable offense.

Neoteny 10-21-2006, 07:06 AM I'm thinking the staff will have learned from last year's disaster and will make this year's maze more like the ride-a-thons, with several fast-moving rooms and automatic prizes.
At least, I hope so.
PirateMario 10-21-2006, 07:30 AM there is no dc this time , if you have patience it will all be okay even with 600players wanting to get in. :11:
But who knows, Crashing might be the new DC.... -.-
jamiewe 10-21-2006, 08:15 AM Nope ;) more than one room and about 70 people in line... just my 2 cents
matzb 10-21-2006, 09:10 AM i hope this years halloween maze will be a ride a thon type of maze because it makes the lines go quicker and also i hope they are automated prizes and i also remembered last years halloween maze such horrible memories the long lines
Flame Gun 10-21-2006, 01:39 PM Lol not a problem I was talking with Lily and she said that now they have the Abillity to Make Rooms hold 2X more people
Tris-Remix 10-21-2006, 01:42 PM Nope ;) more than one room and about 70 people in line... just my 2 cents
That what they should do. They should do that for events so VMK don't egt any angry complaints. They get happy complaints! I like that rule because look how sucsessful hte slide-a-thon thing was
gigarichard 10-21-2006, 01:45 PM Probably three to five different rooms. The lines will move fast with people constently going into teleporters. It'll probably run smooth like the Monster Maze Event in January.
Maribeth 10-21-2006, 01:56 PM They need to make a "maze" in which you get on a ride track and then later you get off and choose between two more, etc. Much faster.
With automated prizes, definitely!!
Jolber 10-21-2006, 02:02 PM i dont think its going bad, no disconnect and a limited line. lets see how it works when its there
Tris-Remix 10-21-2006, 02:04 PM You know when i think about how people complain about lines, I'm thinking that VMK is improving now and becoming successful! I bet soon vmk will become 3D!
chorustwo 10-21-2006, 02:06 PM Well one of them will be Halloween day and there are timezones. So eastern Shore, log on around 5-7:00 since the pacific might be trick-or-treating. and Pacific you can log on when ever you think is appropriate
DON'T Do it in the morning EVERYONE will be on. (most likely)
ACEROLLER 10-21-2006, 02:12 PM I am sure they will open more than one room like in the slide-a-thon i see no problem of where this is going. Also like choose your destiny for hero month. I think there will not be a problem.
Shayjack 10-21-2006, 02:19 PM You know when i think about how people complain about lines, I'm thinking that VMK is improving now and becoming successful! I bet soon vmk will become 3D!
Uh... No. That would require actually making a COMPLETELY NEW GAME.
Anyways, I'm sure it'll run smoothly. I know they'll think of some way to keep it going smooth.

Yes I know that, but what i mean nis that VMK is really improving everyday!
PirateTod 10-21-2006, 04:10 PM there is going to be more then one room is my guess...
DisneyFiggy 10-21-2006, 05:53 PM there is going to be more then one room is my guess...
I rember last year they had an event where if you spin 4 you win inferno, sadly I spinned 4 but I traded the inferno, anyways I'm thinking it might be like last year?
AceGoalkeeper 10-21-2006, 06:04 PM I bet they'll just make like 10 rooms exactly the same, so it won't happen again.. I remember during christmas, waiting behing 976 ppl!.. 0_o

Oddly specific. Was it a dramatic experiance? :h-eek:
Anyway, I think the event will be fine. They'll think of something.
Neoteny 10-21-2006, 08:27 PM Staff has learned a lot in the past year.
Ok, we still have problems with getting into the host games, but the major events such as the ride-a-thons have gone very well.
I have confidence that this year's Halloween event will be a success.
Thark 10-22-2006, 06:17 AM Well as everyone else has said, I guess we all will have to wait and see how it will be. It should be fine. And we have the added comfort of the maze opening up at game opening and closing with vmk. That is the big factor i think, time. There will be about 15 hours a day for 2 days to try and get in the maze. Eventually I think people will stop playing it lol. And if im correct, wasnt the maze open like 3 or 4 hours last year? not sure.
Poor vmk staff members and leaders, if they have to stay and maintain the rooms for 15 hours a day.
Lexweb 10-31-2006, 01:51 PM I remember last year I waited over an hour in line for the easiest Haunted Maze. Wasn't worth the wait. I haven't logged into VMK since September so needless to say I haven't been through the mazes this year yet.
Perhaps Ill stop in sometime tonight. What maze path does everyone reccomend seeing as how the waits will be astronomical!
Thark 10-31-2006, 01:54 PM Well, getting into the maze is not hard at all, but neither is the maze :S. I found that the orange and black(yes i did each one, only got one pin like Yavn said) were very easy, in black just had to hop onto a teleporter and it did the work, in orange just 2.
I was wondering if anyone knew which was the most difficult maze?
Midien 10-31-2006, 02:04 PM When it first opened yesterday it was a walk through, very tricky to move, later in the day they changed the rooms, the walk through rooms are very roomy to move, and some of the paths are ride throughs. I think it was QA_'s path that was a ride through. They have also increased the number of people in line to about 100 I'd say, my first time waiting to get into one of the room I was 96 in line, got in the room only to get the boot and a message saying the room was closed as they were making changes. (think this is when they were changing it to a ride through)

Ok, so, I'm an idiot.
Maribeth 10-31-2006, 09:30 PM Ok, so, I'm an idiot.
Amen. Haha Just kidding Neoteny, but still you would think that they have learned. So normally I would call staff idiots, but I'M NOT SAYING THAT. We should thank them for just putting it together, which was a miracle in itself.
AwsomeAdrienne 10-31-2006, 09:36 PM I searched halloween maze on the guesty room thing and I saw the orange maze and only one yellow mickey was showing on it. So I went in, and I got my pin and I saw only one or two other people so it was really easy to get it. LOL :D
:tink:AwsomeAdrienne:tink:
Tris-Remix 10-31-2006, 09:37 PM If you got the pin esterday, would we be able to get it today too or only once?
AwsomeAdrienne 10-31-2006, 09:42 PM only once, one pin per event O.o
:tink:AwsomeAdrienne:tink:
Foustketeer 11-01-2006, 04:20 AM Lines were very easy to get into tonight. Some rooms only had one mickey.

Yes, toward the end of the event, the queues were nonexistant. Made for some quick and easy muling.

Tsk,tsk, muling! ;)
I think it will play out for upcoming events that it would be easier to be patient and wait for the next day. I did get in on the first day soon after opening, but was booted out of the second room when it clogged. Yesterday it was a breeze. Next event? Wait for day two! I just wish this was earlier so I could wear the pin longer. Oh well, it will go with the seven pin Halloween 06 set (4 purchased, 1 host, 1 quest, and 1 event) for future trades.
jsmall 11-01-2006, 02:30 PM But overall the event was great good job staff!
Neoteny 11-01-2006, 05:11 PM Tsk,tsk, muling! ;)
Did I say muling? Um. I meant it was easier for me to use my fewer than fifty mulitple accounts which I play all the time, so they don't count as mules! Yeah, that's what I meant!
