Check the Emporium under the Pins tab. It's part of the perminate collection. At least it was this morning.

I'm wondering if the Green Dice Machine will be part of the perimate collection as well, but seeing how it is under the Special! tab still, it's quite questionable.

Probably the same reason why the Explorer Costume is in the Clothing area. They are picking which items they want to make rare and which they want to make perminate.

Got to check that soon

Hopefully the costumes in the next event (Hong Kong Disneyland Event) will be only sold during that event. I would like to see those become rare.

I think that the whole hong kong Disneyland Pin set will be perminate (sp?) because of the first one. I am guessing that they might be in the diferent shops for each land. >_<

I really wish that if they are going to make something permanent, they would not put it in the SPECIALS section.

How many of you wasted LOTS of credits buying multilples of Safari Suits, and now the Main Street Pin?

I would have just gotten one of each, if I had known it was permanent, and NOT SO SPECIAL or rare.

Same here. it just gets annoying now, but thinking of the newer people that we will be getting soon wondering where did you get that, and you can tell them that it was a special item, but still can be found.

so are the items permanent or special?

EDIT: Quote on VMK main site: To celebrate the opening of Hong Kong Disneyland on September 12 2005, VMK will be releasing a series of 5 pins. The first will be available the weekend of September 2, with a new pin following each weekend thru September. These are limited-release pins, so be sure to get yours!

I see it as a release day special. You know, kind of like in Best Buy where new CDs on Tuesdays are about $2 less than what they will be going for on Wednesday?

There are a lot of items in SPECIALS that aren't rare. Most stores have these items. I don't recall reading anything that items put in SPECIALS will become Rare.

You are making assumptions that these items will be removed. I wouldn't blame VMK for this. Where exactly are they supposed to release new items? If they tossed them in with everything else we'd never find them. The new clothes are a good example of this.

This is very much like real life. You can never be sure what will be "rare" and what will be "common".

I mentioned this in another thread this past weekend when someone said the green generator will be rare after the weekend. Not a good thing to assume.

I would have thought people learned their lesson after the explorer suit/trucker hat incident. Apparently not.

However, with this pin, the VMK site made specific mention that it was a limited-release pin. In the past that has meant for one weekend only (remember Tomorrowland Retro pins and Jungle Pins?) Hopefully, VMK is only changing the meaning of limited release from "one weekend only" to "one week only" or something like that and not that they will go back on the limited-release claim and make it permanent.

I seem to remember the Tomorrowland Retro pins being a week (actually about 5-6 days). But they didn't move from Specials though...
