A while back someone posted something about Disneyland releasing pins with VMK codes. Has anyone heard any more information on this?

Yes, there are 10 pins, and 10 cards with codes.
The pins are all pirate themed.

We are all hoping that there are 10 New prizes!

There are pictures of the pins , that I will try to find.
They are posted in the WIKI.

They will be out at WDW and DLR in December, for $14.99 for 2 pins and 2 cards, which will be a surprise when you open the box!

Info and pictures of the pins can be found here (http://www.disneysonlineworlds.com/index.php/Pin_Trading), on the the wiki. We haven't forgotten about them ;)

From the designs of the pins, it looks like the VMK items might be the same pirate items previously available on the series two cards.

Thanks for the info! I should have know WIKI would have had the information! LOL

Neoteny you're right! It looks like the prizes will be from the "old" pirates quest from the parks.

Here we go again!

Yvan said, in one of the ask Yvan post, that once a Quest Item is retired, you wont be able to get it from anywhere else.
Those cards are retired, as listed in the card list.

The items may be the same, but in different colors.:17:

I think that they will be the same from the earlier pirate quest with the addition of the pirate costume and pirate ship. There is a pin that depicts each item i don't think anyone can deny what that implies. But what ppl don't realize is that these items are going to be sold with the pins. $15.00 is not a small amount for 2 items in vmk, and they are random. So they will not be as rare as once were but they're not going to be everywhere. If you want the set your going to have to spend 75.00 dollars and thats if your lucky enough to not get doubles.

Q: Will Park Quest rewards from Disneyland or the Magic Kingdom ever be available any other way?

A: Park Quest prizes are exclusive to Park Quests and once those items and the Quest are over, we don't have plans to bring them back.

That is a quote from Yvan, it was in the 9/11/2006 Newsletter!

I don't know why everyone assumes the codes will be for furniture or costumes. I wouldn't be at all surprised if the codes are for VMK pins that look exactly like their real counterparts!
That would be nice!

You can also keep tabs on this at www.Dizpins.com. The pins have not shown up there yet - some rummors for DLR cast members are that January '07 is when we'll see them.:23:

Hmm, that is an interesting thought. In my opinion, I think that the artwork rendered on the pins is much too detailed to be shrunk into a little pixel pin. If look at some of the VMK pins that are very detailed (stitch and hotel pins come to mind) they seem a bit blurry/off. That's my :twocents: .

We should know more soon as the pin trading site is up to the end of Nov. with the upcoming pins. :D A few more weeks and the pins should be listed but perhaps not the cards. lol.

Does anyone have more information on these cards? Are they Series 3? Will that be release all together?

Any thoughts?

The pins where available as an edition of "10". Meaning there were only 10 sets made. They were part of a pin auction event held at Epcot last month.
It was held on Sept. 20-22. Here's the info:

and:

Actually, that was for the prototype pins. The pins will be a set of 10, broken into blind pairs.

Well, I know I haven't seen them out at DLR yet.
