Title says it all! The processor type is generally on a little label on the corner of a laptop, or the front of a desktop.

I have an Intel Core Duo Process. 1.66 GHz, I believe...

Second sticker: Intel Inside Celeron (and then below that there is a M)

Designed for Microsoft Windows just means that is the platform it was designed to be used with.

Probably the newest one, like Stitch mentioned, an Intel Core 2 Duo Processor.

The Dual Core processors are like having two processors in one, so you can multi-task easier.

If you're saying that the Dual Core processors work faster, I don't think I've ever seen a computer work faster than mine does. ;)

That's your opinion, but I am almost postive they would be faster. They feature the latest technology. Technology is constantly advancing and you can't always have the latest and greatest. You just have to learn to be happy with what you have.

It all depends what you run. I mean, a low-end processor might run Internet Explorer and Word Processing Programs very fast, but if it tried to run a Photo Editing Program, then it wouldn't be able to handle it. However, a high-end processor would be able to run all that and more at the same time.

So it all depends on what you are using it for.

But if you look at technology, which is the facts, Dual Core Processors are better than Celeron processors.

I'm not going to go into detail and such and compare processors, but if you would, you can always check out Intel's site.

Mine will out run yours in anything...flat out Intel Pentium Extreme Edition 3.73GHz you cant beat that and the only thing that will come any where near close is AMD Opteron 285 2.6GHz

Ok, the AMD Opteron is a server processor. The current top of the lines are AMD 64X2 processor, and the Intel Core Duo 2 Extreme. Please note that there are multiple processors under these categories.
