I just got my certification, but haven't been on any dives except the cert dives. We were going to go twice but my dad had surgery and couldn't hold the regulator in his mouth.

Anyone else scuba dive?

Know some really awesome awesome sites in North Florida and Gerogia? Love to hear :)

Some facts about Scuba diving:

SCUBA stands for Self-Contained Underwater Breathing Apparatus, in other words a tool for breathing underwater that requires no external connection (as in you don't need some sort of hose connecting you to the surface or anything; it works all by itelf.)

The youngest age a person can get certified at is 10 years old. They can only go to 40 ft. bsl (below sea lvl) but after a few dives they can advance to Advanced Junior Open Water Diver and can go to 60 ft. bsl, then Open Water Diver, somewhere near 80 ft. bsl and then Advanced, but you would really want to take technical courses then.

You can control elevation in the water vy your breathing patterns.

Your eyes cannot focus in the water, so you wear a mask in order to have a different focus point. It's like the corrective lenses on some glasses!

I have been 51 feet below sea level =D
