I am encouraged to write a book, but first I will make it a story in the Stories section. I am reading a great book, it has specular word choice, I can picture like I am there, The True Confessions of Charlotte Doyle by Avi. And even though it may be happening in the early 1800's, most of us might be able to relate to her. So, I need some ideas, no names or anything, I have a whole book of names, over one thousand names, but I could use some last names. I have no ideas for it yet. I am not asking you to write my book, but for some simple ideas. Thanks!

Plot-

Character (LAST NAMES)- Renolds, Carrington, Johnson, Spence

Setting- Small Town,

Names (Provided by Me)- Camille (means Free born, noble), Justin (means just, upright, richeous), Darleen (means darling), and Melody (means music, song)

Etc, etc..

Oh oh!! I'm reading that book right now too! Its for school, and its a really good book. As you said even tho it takes place in the 1800's, everyone can relate to Charlotte.How she makes bad choices, then has to make a huge choice for her mistake.

Just a suggestion, for settings a good place is a small town, example: New Lenox, Illinois. I bet you have no idea where that is. lol, but small towns interesting stuff can happen O_o

Also for names, don't pick out any old name. Find the meaning of it, and make sure it fits the character :D

Okay, so like a small town, even though Providence is not small, it is the captial of Rhode Island, and even though the book takes place on a boat, heh oh well.

My book of names, it also tells the meaning of the name, and what language it comes from. So that's cool, heh.

Okay, I posted some names I like :) Those are the main characters, as of right now. I am still looking for a plot, more setting, etc. :)

I am thinking about the plot. So far, I like the idea of kids getting stuck inside a candy shop, but I couldn't write a whoole book about that.

For the plot..what about a girl/guy moves away because one of their parents got a job somewhere, and he/she has to say goodbye to all of her friends. Then, when she moves in to her house, she discovers something strange/weird..I don't know, something like that.
