Hey all welcome to my shading guide! Ever wondered how to change a blue princess skirt to a green 1? Or a Jack Sparrow Hat to a blue 1? Well here's guide to help you with the shading without messing up!

1)First you'll need a program to use. Regular paint won't work.
2)Then use the selection tool and select the areas you want to change the color.

3)Press Shift+L and change the color.

4)Press Shift+B to change the brightness and contrast.

wow you guys use other programs than Paint? bc i just use Paint, but i make high-quality costumes! (lol, if i do say so myself) i make my own shades.

Ok find the selection tool, just keep your mouse on each for a moment so the name will pop up.

yes but it only shows up the thing like a crop the when i press shift and L it pops up a box saying i cant do that

Hmm...let's see...you press selection, not crop. Then circle or box around the area where you want the color to change. Then press Shift and L at the same time and it should pop up saying colorize...

Thanks for the help! Here is what I made for the first time It's a little bad though. I made it on my laptop and I was the laptops mouse so it was hard to select what area

Wow, I never knew that. For my editing (check thread: Kit's Edits! (http://www.vmkforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=79990)), I don't do that, I do something else. This will help alot, though! Much easier.

There's a little arrow next to it that has different selection tools. I think freehand selection is the best

Umm... I can shade and I only use paint :D

I know you can do it on paint >_< But I'm saying you can't shade it the way I explained it but there's other ways to do it on paint.
