Panic is not that good. They're pop/dance/electronica/punk. They're only punk because they "play" their own instruments.

One thing, that icon is stupid. "If you don't get the lyrics then don't call yourself a fan"? Their lyrics are just repeatitve. The video is stupid, they have circus people in their concerts, all of them. And, they kicked out their bassist, he didn't leave. If you read AP, the people who dislike/hate them know true punk/rock music. They just popped out of no where and became mainstream in about 2 seconds just because of Pete and Fall Out Boy. If Pete didn't make his stupid label, they wouldn't be a mainstream band.

Okay, I admit I have their CD, but I dearly regret it. It was too overproduced. It seemed that your listening to a boy band again. All you hear are synths, drums, and vocals. True punk has a little synth or synth at all. The song titles are uncreative. Really, "I Write Sins, Not Tragedies" seems to be the worst title I've ever heard. Them I looked at the rest of the CD's songs and it seemed that they didn't write the songs or name them. If they wrote the songs, them I'd be laughing right now.

One thing that still bothers me is that they're mainstream, while better and greater bands (from the past 'til now) are better than Panic, but they aren't mainstream yet. One band from the 70's-80's era called the Ramones created punk-rock. Were they mainstream like Panic? Never. When they played live, they were in small hole-in-the-walls and they played to their fans.

Panic wants people to like their music, not looks. Riiiggghhhttt. Another reason that they are mainstream is of their looks. If the singer and the other guy was kicked out right now, they band will be going downhill, fast.

Mainstream factor. They only have one CD and they are mainstream. That is basically impossible for a true punk band. When I heard of them, I thought they were good. I got their CD about 3 weeks later, and I was greatly disappointed. I listened only to "I Write Sins, Not Tragedies" and I thought "Why doesn't the song sound so good?" I found out why. I thought the singer was okay looking. I used to love the setting of the video. When I heard the CD, I knew that it was way overproduced. If they took out the synth playing and just played like that, no one would like them. To me, I think that when the CD was being made, they gave it to Pete (since he owns the label they are on) I think it was more like punk (old Fall Out Boy) but Pete didn't like it. So he kept on sending them back to make it more pop/dance/electronica.

One thing that saddens me is that they are called punk by the little teeny-coppers. Punk is not them. If you noticed already, they're genre is pop/dance/electronica/punk. If you saw, punk is last out of the genre. So, if you think they are real punk, you are very wrong.

AFI has more than just 5 albums. They have more. They aren't trying to be like Ramones. See? You don't like the singer because he doesn't look like Panic's singer. They have a hardcore following, unlike Panic. The group said that they kicked him out because they had to dumb down the bass tabs. But unless you know the band personally, then you would know the story. But you don't. Only the band, the bassist, and the people they know can care about know. And also, I'm not completely obsessed about AFI. I don't care if you give me an earful because I messed with Panic. If you mess with Afi, Say Anything, Ramones, Paramore, and many respected bands with hardcore fans, they will jump on you if you mess with their bands, trust me.

Also, I get worse at school than just an earful. If you listened to other music, you'll learn that Panic isn't all that good.

Things about AFI:
1. They have a huge hardcore following (They will jump on you if you mess with AFI)
2. Miss Murder is not their only hit. They have that, Days of the Pheonix, Girls Not Grey, Leaving Song Pt. 2, Silver and Cold, and more from their earlier years.
3. They aren't pure punk. Ramones is, but AFI is a whole different genre.
4. Their fans actually like AFI for their music
5. Davey isn't in the band just to get famous for the moment like Panic. He is in the band to be a singer and to sing music with an actual meaning in their songs. If he was just in it for the moment, then they wouldn't have a hardcore following.

Learn the band before you talk about them. I knew about Panic, so I said what was on my mind.

EDIT: The only people on DecayDance are Panic, Gym Class Heroes, OctoberFalls, and The Hush Sound. If you said that Less Than Jake are on DecayDance, you are completely wrong. The others are not on DecayDance. They are on Fueled By Ramen. Don't get them mixed up.
If I was in a band, I'd rather have 5,000 loyal fans than 1,000,000 fake fans.

I like the occasional song. I like the techno feel. I really don't like how they have become the #1 band for posers, and have become too mainstream for me. I found other bands with a similar feel, but without the mainstream recognition.

At least Panic Has Fans, Barely anyone like AFI, They only like Miss Murder. Because that is really their only hit. Not all of Panic! fans are fake. Most of the preppy girls that go to the concerts to stare at Brendon and Ryan are but, alot of people like their music.(Why did I say Preppy? Nobody take offense to that bc I am. AFI has lots of fans worldwide. Panic only has fans nationally. Like I said, AFI has over a dozen of hits! If you go to the Despair Faction, there are more true fans than Panic. With AFI, they sell out their tickets in less than a day to their TRUE fans. You don't like them for their looks? If you don't, then why did you say "They should kick out the singer and replace him with someone better looking"? I don't just listen to AFI. I listen to other punk/rock/goth/alternative music.
If Panic goes into recording, I bet NO ONE will talk about this band. Everyone on Despair Faction talks about AFI no matter what. Whether they are recording or on tour.

Something about them bugs me...
Like the fact that they were signed without them really playing a show.
I know many other bands in Las Vegas who needed, no deserved, that break more than them.

They were Good enough to get singed and they were smart enough to put Demo's on Pete's LiveJournal.

I happen to obbsessed with them! They are my number one favorite band right now! I love pretty much every song by them, and I know all the words. I really want to see them in concert, and Im hoping they make a new album soon! I knew them wayyy before they were popular... they have amazing talent! No matter what anybody says, it will NEVER change the way I think about P!ATD!

Im not even going to bother arguing with the people who say they're trying to be emo, they're weird cause they wear makeup, are bad cause they only have one album, they have inapropriate/weird words, and any other bad and untrue critasizm. They are an amazing band, and no matter how much you try and put them down, it will always be true.

Yeah, every band start small then get bigger. But these pop/punk bands that sound the same are having everything brought to them on a silver platter.

The lyrics aren't unique. I've heard better lyrics. Ones that have a meaning, but you have to read in between the lines to know the meaning. Then the ones that tell a story, but the lyrics sound like code word to the people who don't get it.

I do like songs when people have a funky mouth, but not in the whole song, unless the words go with the meaning of the song.

And these are our opinions. You didn't have to be all defensive when I posted here, softballfan. If you read the bottom of my post, it said

well he did like contribute to the band and all because this is what happened, Bret like took time off from the band i like May and he aparently realised that he didn't get payed for his time in being i the band so the rest of the band had to pay him the money i like 30 days or something or he will sue thats all so all i was saying before was that i hope he did't sue...

AFI is not horrible.
One thing better than Panic, one of the greastest live shows ever. Panic isn't good live. The singer has no stage presence, but Davey from AFI does. And, they don't need dancers to hide the singers bad voice.
Second, AFI is actually respected for their music and not looks.
Third, AFI is not a flash-in-the-pan band. If you don't know what it means, then that is really sad.

I'm a major fan of Panic! At The Disco. I'd heard them on the radio singing "I Write Sins Not Tragedies", but never got the CD. About a month or so ago, my sister bought me the CD, and I now know every lyric of every song.. because I love all the songs! First and foremost,We took everyone by suprise, good job on turning some heads our way. I think there is something to be said about a video winning video of the year on a budget that was about as much as catering costs for all the other videos we were up against.And I think a large part of it was your support since we began, you all have forced people to pay attention.We truly appreciate every second you spent whispering our name in someone's ear or voting all night long. thank you.

while we are home we are still busy as bees.Many exciting things are coming in the near future, planning this next tour, planning the final video..and also we're putting together something special that we hope will be out around xmas, it will be a look into this band and this record and hopefully you can take something from it and learn a thing or two you didn't know already.

there has been leisure time, and in this time I have stumbled upon a few great gems i'd like to share.I recommend going to see little miss sunshine, and also while you're at it, pick up the soundtrack.Devotchka did some pretty amazing songs for this, especially the ones with Mychael Danna.Give it a shot.Ive also been listening to a record calledDon't be afraid by the eastside sinfonietta, they cover weill, brecht, and eisler pieces here.(some of the most intriguing composers of the early 1900's in my opinion) in ways that make me quite jealous. Also I am on a quest for two plays that Tom Waits wrote the scores for, one is called Alice, the other is called The Black Rider. I've been having a pretty difficult time finding out if the stage show was ever recorded. if you happen to know or find out i'd appreciate the help, it's been driving me crazy. It's now 4:18 a.m. and probably time for bed.goodnight all.
